Back before my days as an academic, I was involved with a number of new businesses that were sometimes working with new models. In pretty much every case, there was some initial point where things became harrowing. Customers were angry, employees were frustrated, but there was nothing anyone could do but try to adjust, think of creative solutions, and simply plow through. I would be more surprised if Lawless /wasn't/ behind at the moment. It sucks, because I'm really looking forward to my orders (and more importantly, the orders of friends I convinced to buy Lawless), but these are growing pains and are to some extent inevitable (even with the best of planning).
It has been great having Roman and especially Sal here to answer all of our questions and generally just include us in the start of this company. I know they must be stressed as hell right now and eager to get everything up to a higher level of efficiency.
I've paid close to nothing for what would otherwise be some pretty expensive denim, so as long as they do indeed get made and shipped at some point, I am still a fan.

While I have been critical of some of DDs post on here (In black and white they probably seem harsher than intended) In all fairness, I have to say that my interactions with DD and the LD team have been handled quickly and professionally. I too took advantage of the initial customizations offer and made several changes to several different orders. All with no issues. I knew when I placed the orders it would be awhile before completion and have no problem waiting. I believe in what LD is trying to accomplish, that's why I ordered and why the wait is worth it.

If a custom clothing item shows up within a year it is not late. Ask any man who uses a tailor.

I did a warm soak with my Lawless Indigo/Indigo 14oz western shirt. It is a raw fabric and from my reading most recommend a soak. I did warm as I didn't mind a little shrinkage. I am really happy as it tamed down the puffiness in the back shoulders and with 2 days wear substantially softened up in a good way. I did not lose any length. I did do some light stretching as it air dried. The sleeves lost .5 and minimal everywhere else. Almost no little indigo loss. A good experiment. My picture quality overall sucks sorry.

Just imagine the turn around at a Saville row tailor turn of the Century. You'd have to order a suit at 18 in order to have something to be buried in.

Yeah, I've been using some higher-end tailors in Hong Kong, trained by the Brits from the old colonial days, for years. It really varies dependent on what's on their plate. So I've had a sport coat come in in under a week. I've also waited 6-8 months. If you get irritated and keep pestering and eventually get irate with these guys (I had a friend who did) you will eventually get an extremely polite letter with all this fancy scrollwork on it and 'Tailor to Her Majesty's XX Regiment' etc. and apologies that they couldn't meet your requests because bespoke clothing takes longer than you may be used to and in light of this please accept with their humblest apologies a full refund (usually scented and on expensive card stock). That's old school! I sort of fear and respect those guys. It makes you feel like shit when you get that letter because you basically got outclassed big time! The unspoken point perhaps being something like: 'Sorry, American Fellow, it takes a little longer to make bespoke clothing fit for Her Majesty's Regiment etc. than it does to make KMart jeans.. you a$$hole!'

Just tried it on and the fit is nails. I have a few nits to pick, but Lawless has crushed a few others in fit the first time out of the gate. And really, after fit everything is just not picking to me.

The back is 24.25" bottom of collar to hem. I like it on the shorter side. Besides liking the look better shorter, when longer always bugs me when sitting down. The fabric bunching up etc.

Squeaky doors get the oil, so like to register my vote to keep the faith & maintain support for LD. Like Old26 & some other members, I will order when things level out. I applaud their vocation - to get much better stuff to many more people. Progressive. Be massive for US Made denim, imo - plus they are EXACTLY the kind of people I want to see succeed doing denim. Really dig what I sense & hope they're getting closer to doing. My few cents.

Greetings, my fellow fiends, I just got my lawless jeans in the mail today. I found them on Kickstarter and read mostly negative reviews from the yelps or something. Whatever, I figured I would roll the dice. My subtropical environment put me in the need for lighter jeans so I backed the 10oz Kaihara twill and then my love for adventure forced me to back the "japan mystery denim." In my head, I imagined crazy mystery denim that you can't even phantom because it so cray cray. Later on, I would learn that it was either a 13oz or 16 oz crosshatch slub (yawn). Not knowing what to do and various minor injuries/circumstances have kept me from running which also leads to me eating like a wild animal...so I backed the 10oz in a 36 straight and the 13oz in a 37 just in case I was still fatter when I got them. I was fatter. Literally put on at least an inch since summer and won't start to rectify that until January. All jibber-jabber aside...here are my thoughts on Lawless Overall - Pretty good I rambled a lot, deleted it...will keep it simple Someone suggested the straight fit was more like a Gustin slim. Never bought a gustin slim, but the 36 straights I ordered basically peeled off my legs when I was taking them off. Ok, not that bad, but close enough. I feel top heavy with slim leg jeans. It is my understanding that most of the brahs like this. the 37's fit well and I could button the 36's without much fuss. taking the weight back off in January (part of my yearly cycle/battle) will get them to fit better in the waist, but my legs won't shrink...so the 37's might be loose in the waist but just right in the legs and the 36's good in the waist and tighter in the legs. I will see after break in etc. Ok, I could go on for a while...how about pictures? imgur.com/a/iVbX9there is the imgur album since I somehow resized these chumps too much. 10oz on top and 13oz on bottom. Black copper on 13oz and gunmetal on 10oz got the heritage pockets on both because...adventure! Pretty sure I am not a huge fan of it now. Customization is good, but mostly...I like the look of normal jeans go figure. patches...the one with the mountain and tree is almost invisible. Either way, I love belt-through patches. Also, these chumps are thick. Gustin slub16's on top and 13 crosshatch slub lawless on bottom as you can see, the 13oz's are boring in comparison. and here is the 13's with a belt. I like the black and copper buttons. I think it is a good look. Gunmetal is also nice. Eh, you can't go wrong with about any color. back pocket...this is somewhat of a dealbreaker. See how small it is compared to a gustin pocket? (my first pair of gustins...American Orange ID) My wallet peaks out the top. That is where I keep important things...and it isn't just my millions of dollars. The ID cards etc are important...especially overseas. The security of my janke is a concern of mine. We will see how this breaks in and stuff, but be warned. I don't have a huge wallet. It is mostly normal size that fits european bills. also, the front watch pocket is also smaller, but it fits a zippo well. the front hand pockets are deeper on the lawless (which I like) and the pocket bags are much stronger. and it is late, but this is christmas card for this year. furthermore, if you want raw denim and like the looks of them...give it a try...or not. now I wait for my ciano farmers to get here and stuff. They are a little higher in price, but I am expecting good things out of them.

18.5 oz Kuroki Old Site Review
Fabric: Crazy thick compared with my 120z stuff and a ton of weft show through to go with strong diagonal patterning on the indigo warp. It's comfy, though, I wore them for a full day without feeling uncomfortable.
Details: Literally none of the changes I confirmed with Roman were made to these pants so they came exactly as ordered. Tonal thread is a good look with the fabric, but I wish they had the normal back pockets instead of the selvedge detail which is a bit over the top. The double chain stitch hem isn't perfectly straight, but as good as Gustin. I love the triple stitch inseam and the fancy edge binding on the fly as others have already mentioned. The thick veg tanned patch is really cool.
Fit: These are 33 straights, but are easily slimmer than a 33 Gustin slim. They fit exactly like my favorite pair of $250 Travellers in 32 slim straight and I'm thrilled. If you're ordering just double check because the fits are nothing like Gustin or some others.
Value: Insane value. Great fabric and strong details even at full price on this pair. They're such a good value that the confirmed then not delivered changes doesn't sting too badly. I'll order another pair before the sale ends, this time with Kevlar for riding. Pics in the next post.
