thomasss I'm a 34 slim in Gustin and went with the 35 slim straight, the waist measurement should be the same on both pairs 34.5 inches. My waist goes anywhere from 36-37ish depending on how fat I currently am and have had no problems with stretching two pairs of Gustins. So I think you are good, if you don't mind a little discomfort for the break in.

ok, this thread needs cleaned up big time. this is for reviews of Lawless items and CS. We have a different thread for Lawless sizing discussion. I will try and clean this up when I get a chance.
But to just answer@ thomasss regarding the sizing confusion I will again suggest to measure your actual waist and order based on that. I can fit in to a 32 straight in G which stretch to about a 34 in the waist. When I ttried to put on my 32 straight LD I could barely get them over my ass. The LD straight fit is similar to the G slim fit

thomasss , I wear 31 in Gustin, and 33 in Lawless. When I measure my waist, at the point where I like my waistband to sit, I get 33.5 I think if someone is between sizes, you should take the smaller measurement (for the jeans, not shirts or jackets) Judging by what you're saying, I'd go with the 37. Keep in mind that Lawless takes stretch into consideration, depending on what denim you choose. As you see by Ickes' measurements, they took .5 inch from the 33 waist. So they are allowing .5 for stretch. I hope this helps you nail down your size, and you get it right the very first time like I did

thomasss; yes, for this pair I did go one up from my usual GUSTIN size (32 straight) however my GUSTIN size has now changed since I ordered these as I have gained some weight (muscle mass). I could barely get these over my ass but once I finally did I could button them but it was much too tight for my liking. My best advice for LD is to measure your actual waist and order that size just like Roman says. So for my four other pairs of LDs I ordered a 35 straight. Thank you ickes... But here is my problem : i used to order 34 in Gustin (straight or slim) and they fit perfect. Everytime i buy a pant ; it is a 34 and no problem... When i use a tape to mesure my waist : i get a... 38 !!! i don't know if i mesure it at the good place, that's why i'm uncertain. i mesure it at diffrenet points and get between 37-38... i talk to ciano farmer for ordering the 30oz bull denim and they told me that i should go for a 32 if i'm a 34 gustin !!! (so for sure, i'm between 32 and 38, a good point for beginning = well, on the few reviews i saw here, people that are happy with the LD fit go to the "one up from gustin" size rule. So i made the same. It is strange because sometimes i read "go one up from gustin" is good and i read too, people like me that have to size up 2, 3 or even 4 sizes more (like Dirty_Denim for eample). I DON'T KNOW !!!! But if it is LD 35 ant it strech maybe, if i'm very positive, of 2" maximum, it will still be 37 so not good... Is should maybe go for a LD 36 : larget is better than too little. I'm in France, if i get my pants in the end of february (ordered middle of november) and i have to get them back and then they have to get it back to me, i will have it for next christmas !!! YOU, FOLKS HERE, WHAT WILL YOU DO? ? Thomas, I am a 34 in G. I went with a 36 in LD and they fit perfect. I would not go with a 35.

Here are some new pics and review of my Lawless Western/Montana shirt. It was ordered from old website before the recent newest size chart and website pics/description. Overall it should be the same as what you would order now. Will update if it is not the case. This is a slim small in size. 14 oz. Kaihara Indigo over Indigo Selvedge Denim mens-size:small thread-color: White, button-snaps: Tiger Eye, pocket-lining: Black & White Stripes I have wanted a heavy selvedge indigo shirt with snaps and contrast stitching for a while and was happy when this arrived. I knew the white stitching would be a bold move. I could have went with the normal copper color but wanted to go a little crazy as I had seen leather jackets with white stitching and thought they looked great. There are also western shirts with stock white stitching. My shirt does stand out and I wouldn't wear it to church or anywhere conservative. I get to wear what I want to work from Metallica T-shirts, along with many other bands, to dress shirts and everything in between so this will fit in there. I will preface by saying I have an Iron Heart 16oz Super Black SS Western Shirt so I am used to a thick shirt. It borders on being a jacket. The Indigo/Indigo Kaihara is similar in feel as it does have some crunchiness to it. It is a nice thick substantial material but i think it feels great. There is some puffiness in the pics but it will loosen up with wear and drape better. The fabric was exactly what I was hoping for. The color is beautiful, it is very dark and looks almost black until you put it against something black.I have put it next to my IH black shirt in pics for comparison. I am wearing my Gustin Black2 jeans here also. I believe the material will look amazing with some fades in a year or so. The design looks great and workmanship is flawless as far as I can see. The stitching and cutting looks straight and very strong. Anything that looks misaligned just looks that way in picture. I noticed my IH shirt pockets look crooked in pictures. I like the design of the collar and I can button the chinstrap but will probably wear it open unless trying to keep warm. I love the double cuff snap option. You can see the selvedge line inside. My watch fits under the cuffs without any problems. The snaps seem to be a good quality and I like the tiger eye I picked. The front pockets are nice and even though no one will see the black/white striped lining it is a cool feature. I will show it off to people. The flaps function perfectly and are not bulky feeling. I can't think of one thing to complain about. If the pockets were long enough to fit an average Iphone/Droid size that would be a plus but could maybe make the pocket look too long. Not sure about this. My IH shirt doesn't fit one either. Sizing is very important as most of us will not wear something with a bad fit. I do like a slim fit for my shirts. The shoulders, chest, arms and waist are spot on. So happy for that. I do wear most of my shirts tucked so I like an untucked shirt to be on the shorter size. A shirt this thick needs to be untucked in my opinion. This shirt is a little too long for my taste. I know many would be happy with the length. I will probably see what a warm soak will do but I could lose 1.5" on the front and 2.5" in the back. Overall this shirt is amazing regardless of price but with the actual price figured in the best deal out there. Thanks Lawless!! Great job. I have included a link with more detailed pictures. s258.photobucket.com/user/Ianthomasphotos/library/Lawless%20Western%20ShirtThe color is hard to capture but I think these are close to in person. Here are some updated pictures after I had the hem shortened. I usually tuck my lighter fabric button up shirts but like heavy denims to be untucked but on the shorter side. Personal preference. The shirt still needs some breaking in as it is still new. It is some thick fabric and needs some wear to get it to drape better. I plan on wearing it a lot so let the taming begin.

Great for posting the picture. I am glad LD did that for you. Imagine I sent my work shirt back to G and asked them to fix it.... Anyway, I think I am going to send LD my G's Wabisabi work shirt to have it fix. Since I don't plan on washing it, I am concern it is not even fixable.... I think I am going to love the fabric and I really don't want to put it on B&T. Again, I can already feel my blood is boiling about all the hassle that I need to go through to fix something that I paid $140 for more than 3 months ago.

Hello all! I recently received my first order from the old website. 12oz Cone mills waxed denim, relaxed straight (thick skiers legs), red stitching, with wool red plaid pocket liners (which are awesome). Let me first say the fit is spot on, and the stitching/ build quality are first rate. My actual waist is just about 36.5" so I ordered a 36 waist and they fit great. The waxed denim is pretty flashy. All my friends thought I was wearing leather pants. Hopefully as they break in the shininess will fade and the indigo will lighten a bit. These are now my favorite jeans! Waiting patiently for my next order from the old website and have received confirmation that an order from the new site is beginning to be worked on. Has anyone else recieved things out of order?
Keep up the good work LD

I decided to do a warm soak on my LD IxI western shirt. Buttoned up inside out. Air drying now. It is a raw fabric and I will have to soak it at some point to wash. I did some reading and many do a cool/warm/hot soak to get raw fabric to loosen up a little. Different temperatures and added agitation depending on if you want shrinkage or not. Some even throw in washer and dryer. Some here have done this to shrink jeans and shirts.
I have pre soak measurements so I will see if it changes much. Very little indigo loss that I could see in the water. Water did seem to cloud up so it could be starch. I don't mind if it shrinks a little everywhere except the length. I am pulling on the length as it dries to minimize length shrinkage. I should have done the soak first before sending to be hemmed. Oh well. Will post results later.

The old site basically got shut down so all orders had to be printed. As we confirm things the orders get moved around out of order as paper files. unlike a computer order system which keeps things in order. We allowed people to change many many times so it took a different amount of time with a different set of circumstances. As sewers get a hold of those orders they each move about at their own pace and skill. Some orders needed to be confirmed within our shop (not with the customer really ) We needed to confirm what shirts and sizing were requested based on our own changes in house Shirts styles, pockets sizes etc etc. Because the old system (estore) did not have the same capabilities as the new we have to go off of customer emails to find changes. Each of those orders goes thru a longer confirm process than the new which a cust messages direct to the order where the old is emailed with an enormous amount of sifting needed. We need to get thru the KS and the old site to see the light at the end of the tunnel basically.
As for orders coming in out of order, we are dealing with a different kind of model that I think you guys understand. Each order is unique just like if I throw a ball at the wall it will likely hit a different spot on the wall each time. WHat does that mean...each order can have its own needs and requests to overcome. Like heritage stitch which is timely, like changing the thigh on a pattern that is already cut, like wanting thread to be red on the inseam and blue everywhere else. Like wanting this pocket added with that pocket from a different shirt. I know everyone wants their stuff but please understand we are doing something not one factory or brand would even want to do. If we called to say "hey can u take care of these orders and by the way they are all different than the initial patterns with threads and fabrics being different. Remember we were allowing alot more to be O.K'd in the beginning. We allowed people to choose FULL CUSTOM so there are a whole lot of full custom orders in production and I mean maybe 85% from the old website came in full custom Now I know thats what we sell and do but we really did allow a lot more than intended and everyone took full advantage. We are making custom patterns for a lot of orders (not all). When people asked , we did and you were happy to get every request ok'd but now because its takes more time some forget what we allowed. Thats also a complete loss especially with the 50% off. Please respect how hard we worked to make sure everyone got exactly what they wanted without much denial. Please understand we are working hard at this. We put an end to it not because we wanted to earn on it but to literally stop full custom from coming in at enormous rates. The factory cant sustain that kind of slow down and you are seeing it first hand. Now that we have set some rules and can get thru the early issues with the system and everything else, I am sure things will clear up.
I hope everyone who is upset can appreciate and remember the feeling they had when I or any Lawless employee said "Yes you can have that.."
If we were maybe strict with our policy I am sure things would have been easier and faster but of course you would have never got full custom

But until things are caught up, I expect a lot of ruffled feathers. Good luck.

DD, That explanation sounds reasonable for those who made changes. What of us who simply ordered a shirt and made No changes. I ordered 1 shirt in June from KS. And an additional 3 (maybe 4) in October. With No changes or request. It seems that our/my order should be simple. Even the KS shirt is standard for everyone who ordered it. I'm expecting to get my stuff in a few months all in wrong sizes (because I have No idea which fit page I ordered). Wish you guys luck, really I do. But LD is going in to many directions at once.

It would be good customer service to update people if their orders are going to be late. Like others, I have an order pending from the first week of October. I have heard zero from LD about the status. I have faith that everything will work out, but from a pure customer service standpoint, it is imperative to keep people in the loop. This is not being done. It is totally reasonable to expect updates.

DD, I hear what you say and appreciate the honesty, but I cant help but feel that things have grown way beyond what you expected or allowed for, and that your generosity and Willingness to accommodate almost every change can only be your undoing.
I say this from having been quite closely involved in the Aero Leather fiasco of a couple of years ago, where a similar willingness to take on virtually any request at a minimal cost, if at all, simply became unsustainable and almost led to the demise of the company, had the owners not been forced to step in and put order into the chaos.
That order involved minimising change, charging realistic prices for it and owning up to a backlog of 6 months or more.
All of us here really want LD to succeed, but my own humble opinion is that you might want to think about not allowing frequent changes at no or minimal cost, unless people are clear that it costs money and/or pushes their order to the back of the line, so that you cover costs, make a sensible profit and that those customers who don't make changes aren't penalised by those who do.

These problems were created by LD. Now we need to know that they will be resolved. There have been too many post by DD with a lot of explanations and excuses but short on solutions.

Well, now that we have gotten an image of where we are in the queue we should maybe take it a little easy and let them work on our orders, and send messages through the site. Looks like my first one should be only +2 weeks more then original stated and that doesn't sound too bad. I did only place my first ever order on the new page and I have an experience that mine went smooth to order and change upon and it looks like it might not be so late.
Sounds like most problems are still Ks/early site related and that problem might go on for a while and clutter up newsite orders. I understand and accept it. I did get alot of clothes for very cheap that cant even be done here and would cost premium+ in my country, and if the quality is the same on shirts as on jeans I am effing exstatic, and its gonna take alot more then a coupple of weeks extra for me to go out of happy-mode.
I do agree that we have now gotten info, we don`t need more details, now we need to hear stuff like: +4 weeks - factory is pumping out orders. Clothes are looking fantastic! (link to ickes shirt)

That is the reason. The amount of full custom basically slows down orders. So if a full custom order is in front of yours and there could be 10 for that matter. Each employee needs time with those orders. There are also more than 1 person working on an jean or an order. SO one order can come in and take 5 days while another order with the same amount of items can take 3 days. When you continue to add those differences you get inconsistent orders completion rates That means you can be passed or sped up to the front. Also each jean has over 30 steps and during those steps something can delay or speed it up.

DD - given the support you've received from members on here, I suggest you take the time to provide each of us if requested now or previously with an update on where each of our orders are in the production process and a REALISIC idea of when shipping notice will be received. That will give us comfort and stop us from asking. I would PM you or go through the chat on the site, but noone ever seems to be there.
