What makes you guys say the denim fabrics G uses are sub-par? They are not from highly respected mills? Those taupe linens, though, I'm gonna have to reach out about them cause it's been six weeks (I believe) and sizing still hasn't locked. Did you end up contacting them about the delay? I'm pretty sure the Linen Superlights are included in the same batch. Haven't had sizing lock yet.

I find this to be an interesting complaint because the lack of branding is a very big appeal to me with G. Yes, I agree that you can tell that someone like CF 'cares' about his product more than G does, but I really like the fact that with my G jeans and chinos I'm not a walking advertisement for them. I have really been aware of that in my clothes purchases recently. Why am I paying someone so that I can be a walking billboard? agreed. I'm not into branding and i'm glad that G doesn't over-do it in that regard. I also think comparing Gustin to Ciano is apples and oranges. Gustin sources production out to a 3rd party, whereas, Ciano hand-makes everything in-house. The little details are nice but honestly, I don't really care as long as the end product is of high quality. but back to branding, I was checking Filson's site not too long ago and noticed some of their flannel shirts now have 'Filson' embroidered above the chest pocket. I think it's in poor taste and would never wear a button up with a company logo on it. I have the Filson cascade shirts and those do not have the Filson logo on the front. Gustin brands their product just like a lot of other companies and I don't think they need to do anything more that I would consider gratuituous. sometimes simpler is better imo

Levi's does this with all of their shirts/jackets. it's small enough and people don't necessarily pay attention to it. I just don't like it when companies embroider their logos into the fabric. with a tag you can at least cut it off if you chose to do so.

I received my first pair of Gustin chinos last week. Since I'm short I had them hemmed. But I have them back and wore them to work today. The #2 graphite. As far as G being a good deal, for me, the chinos are a great deal. Made in USA. Mine (and a lot of the others) are USA milled fabrics. The construction appears really solid to me (but I'll know more in a few months after a number of washes). I've looked for similar pants and while they aren't $200+ they certainly are 30-50% more expensive. There's no doubt in my mind I will be buying more chinos from Gustin. I am going to wear these for a while though to make sure I don't want to change sizing on my next pair.

I might try again with 33 Straight instead of 34 slim. They just didn't give enough for me to keep them.

Next chinos will probably be the duck or the heavy coffee gonna give 36 straight a try. Leaning to the straight cut on jeans from now on.
