I would certainly wager that Oni are one of the parties behind Tanuki. According to a good source they are. Made by Oni, for Denimio. |

I've read some of the speculation re: Denimio's ownership, but considering people have listed many other shops in Japan that carry the brand and they're available at blue owl (and denimio only offers them proxy) I kind of doubt the validity. The fabrics look pretty great so I'm not sure it matters either way.

The description says ample room in the thigh for this cut...my ass. Seriously these things are skinny jeans and it looks like there's no way I'm squeezing in to any of these tanuki cuts. If they made some for adults I would probably try a pair, the fabric looks nice. Calling these a slim fit is far off the mark. Some of the "Straight" fits that land on Denimio are a little friendlier, but tend to have pretty large cuffs. Given the two extremes in fit and the similar denim to Oni, it's hard to imagine they're not one of the primary parties behind Tanuki. Off topic, but I've been planning to try Tanuki or a mid weight Oni, but can't get this image of the Strike Gold / Self Edge collab out of my mind. Fit is actually just about ideal too. I would also like to try a pair but agree the cuts seem to be made for Peter Pan. Funny the indigo shrimp review a while back showed some decent measurements for the RR1 but whenever I look closer they seem to also be cut for pre adolescents

I requested a proxy over their online chat and bought two pairs of Tanuki from Denimio (before they even listed a Tanuki section or any pairs on their site) and the response that "yes I can get those for you" was so quick, like seconds, that it certainly jives with a relationship. Odd they took so long to list the bifold wallets, and have yet to list the imho beautiful mid wallets. Pricey tho. Never carried a mid wallet but the blue suede lined cordovan wallet at Godspeed makes me want to.

The BOW sale and extra 15% pushed me over the edge...ordered a pair of red casts today. Would have preferred the zettos but they weren't on sale and the taper is a bit too severe.
