@ Gaseousclay, which of your jackets would you say has a heavier-weight fabric, Gustin or Filson? I am debating between these two and would like to pick the sturdiest canvas. Thanks! Also consider Filsons lifetime warranty. They will fix or replace anytime no questions asked. |

the Gustin trucker is thicker. I don't know why Filson lists their tin cloth short cruiser at 15oz because it's not. I recall seeing the tin cloth short cruiser listed at 12.5oz on a 3rd party site but can't remember which. The soy wax short cruiser is something like 8.5oz. I'm basing my answer purely on how the fabric feels to the touch and when I wear it. they're both slightly different from one another in terms of fit and style so I guess it depends on what you're looking for. If you want a trimmer, more fitted trucker then go with Gustin. If you want a roomier jacket for layering then go with Filson. |

I see the G trucker pop up every once in awhile so you may not have to wait. |

I like the dark oak trucker and have been tempted many times, but i've held off because I simply don't need another G trucker. That could all change in the future though. The other thing I like about the dark oak trucker is that it doesn't come up for campaign as often as the brown or olive, so it's more rare. |

  Here's another waxed canvas jacket I came across via Instagram that looks pretty cool. It's by a company called Ginew USA and this is their waxed canvas Moto/trucker inspired jacket. It's got a banded collar and has more length in the body. Currently on pre-order for around $400 (made by LCKingMfg) and available in black and navy |

Levis now has a waxed canvas trucker up on their site that might be worth a punt. The 'paper bag' variant looks similar to the LevisxFilson collab, but they also have black and some indigo version up as well.

I cant wait for workwear to die so that prices get back to normal. be prepared to wait a very long time. prices are high because the cost of raw materials and labor costs more and quantities are often limited. I think there's a good balance. if every aspiring clothing designer were to use the Lawless Denim approach to keeping prices low then demand would exceed supply and nobody would get anything. I think keeping prices high is a good way of keeping ones inventory manageable as well as having more control over the quality of your goods |

  I took delivery of my Levi's waxed canvas trucker today. The pics are from my iphone so don't accurately capture the true color - it's caramel colored. The pros: The fit is spot on and it sits a little lower on the waist. It's also lined with a blue buffalo check flannel so should hopefully keep you insulated as Fall approaches, however, the sleeves have the black poly lining or whatever that is. Total cost ran me $102.40 shipped. The cons: It's made in China, which given the cost i'm sure doesn't surprise anyone since most of their product is made overseas. The 'waxed canvas' is kinda weird to me. When I touch the fabric it feels waxy but it almost has a raincoat texture to it. It doesn't feel like waxed canvas as I know it and it's not terribly thick. When I put the fabric between my fingers and rubbed it together it made that sound that raincoats make. But the tag says it's 100% cotton. Verdict: For $102.40 I like the jacket. It's very similar to the FilsonxLevis collab from awhile ago, minus the better quality and pricetag. So if you're one of the many people who coveted the Filson/Levis collab, this is the best cheaper alternative. |

i found this post while looking at the Levi’s waxed trucker to satisfied my curiosity before getting one on vinted. Be aware that even if it’s kinda similar to the Levi’s/ Filson, it doesn’t compare to it. As mentionned above, the jacket is very light and thin even with the lining (really thin, thinner than a denim jacket). The raincoat feeling is exactly how i would describe it. The Levi’s Filson in the other hand is very thick and heavy and SO much better. The sizing is also smaller compare to the equivalent Levi’s Filson trucker, especially the arms. It sits a little higher on the belt and if the Levi’s Filson is spot on regarding the size, this cheaper version size made it almost impossible to layer with other clothes without discomfort. If you wear small, try medium instead unless you like to be tight in your vest. The lining is very disappointing, it’s very light and doesn’t serve any purpose other than decoration. Don’t expect to wear this during colder seasons. I paid $60 for it but tbh, it only worth $30 in new condition. Don’t pay more for it.
