Little bit of both. Most make some pretty run of the mills denims and most make some pretty cool stuff. RgT is getting serious about unique to them denims. Their new 18oz green selvedge and the blue line they're using for their ISC. Railcar has the Natural Indigos which I think sre unique to them and Left Field seems to be the only ones offering the Black Maria denim.

some other brands not necessarily from the US (from the other brands thread):
Ole Denim (Canada) Naked & Famous (Canada) Time & Silence (US) United Stock Dry Goods (Canada)

#1 on the covet list. My self-imposed 1 new pair per year rule be damned.

Brand/weights aside, I'm looking to diversify my closet and denim collection - I've got classic darker denims of all shades, plus indigo, black, white, and grey - what is a color I need to add or need more of? What's a "must have" from the collectors in this group?
- More texture (I don't have anything "neppy"...been holding out for another run of Jutes) - Olive/army green - Brown/tan/khaki - More grey (I've got Grey silks)
Ideally, I'd love to grab a midweight pair in any of the above (14oz+) but that doesn't necessarily limit what I'm thinking. Appreciate the peer pressure.

Oni 571xxBE: yes it's indigo but the texture is great, the beige weft is awesome, and I think you would love the fit I would recommend a slew of Iron Hearts but I don't know if you dig any of their fits or are even interested. If you are I can list some more

Those look great. Don't like grey, but those I could live with!

Worth noting that Blue in Green sells them without the pocket arcuates for a little more than Denimio and Rakuten, if you're allergic to arcuates.

However, I have a pair of the Naked & Famous Beige Selvedge "Chinos," and they are actually brown denim with a very visible vertical grain and interesting texture somewhat comparable to The Downtown Browns. The difference is the N&F have a brown warp AND weft, whereas TDBs have a white weft. The "Officer Chinos" from RRL are extremely nice and can be dressed up and dressed down and are a thick, raw twill in a chino cut. Grey: Unbranded makes a grey selvage that actually looks like denim. So does N&F. The Unbrandeds are darker and cheaper. They both still look like sweatpants to me. Olive/green: Not at all my thing, so I couldn't really say.

Would the brown with brown weft that N&F are offering be very similar (or the same) to the #135 Japan Pure Brown? I need to compare the two. As for grey, I'd definitely lean towards something highly saturated - I made the mistake of jumping on the first Heather Grey offering. Thankfully, G accepted that return when I called them out for poor photography. THOSE are denim sweatpants. Technically, I gave up shopping for clothes for Lent (really just reallocating funds into a new mountain bike build), but it's bonus season at work and I figure it's never to early to plan my attire for late 2016/early 2017...lol.

The fit chart (per Denimio) is right where I'd like it to be on these. Hmmm...definitely on the short list. Thanks for sharing.

Identical weight.

In the Gustin world: #159 Japan Olive - feel heavier than they are, great color #67 GreyXBlack - darkest grey that doesn't have sweatpants vibe As far as brown, downtown is very golden, umbers are more muted, and the taupe seems to be a great all around color that doesn't scream "I'm wearing brown pants" (I have the lightweight linen blend). I don't have the pure brown, and I'm not seeing anything brown at Naked and Famous, although these look pretty sweet, and may actually be is in no way the same fabric as Gustin's taupe. nakedandfamousdenim.com/collection/ss-2016/khaki-green-selvedge-chino/

matt I have a pair of downtown browns I can sell you for a great price if you are interested in those. Slim fit as well. 1 size off. I'm trimming down a little, but that struggle isn't happening. I still remember the first pair of G's I bought (Rainbow Neps) in 32 slim. That was a painful day before I decided to come to terms with being a 33 slim.
