Filson is almost definitely my favorite brand currently. I've got the green wool Mackinaw Cruiser that served me incredibly well last winter here in Colorado. I have the un-waxed tan Short Cruiser as my Spring/Fall jacket and I just picked up a charcoal Mackinaw vest. I think my next purchase is going to be the Insulated Tin Cap with the tuck away ear flaps. Seems like that will be great for shoveling the snow that's not too far out. Anybody have any recommendations on Filson stuff that they love? I have their unisulated leather Uplander boots, Mackinaw vest, leather gloves and 2 long sleeve expedition shirts. The shirts are more of a loose fit as they didn't have the Seattle fit then which I would probably like better. I like Filsons quality and that most of the goods are made in the USA. Great return policy also. The goods aren't cheap. Ebay and Sierra Trading Post are sometimes good places to look for bargains on Filson.

^^ I'd recommend their cascade shirts because i think they're stylish, incredibly warm and do not have that annoying embroidered Filson logo on the chest pocket like some of their new flannels. I hear their bags are nice too I would get them but they are out sourced, which is a deal breaker for me. The tag shit is because one of their new design guys is from Levi's. He's been pushing for tags for a while now. Guess he got his way.

I have the insulated tin cloth cap and love it. Very warm, worth the money. Awesome. Can't wait to grab one!

I prefer non outsourced as well, but have found that LL Bean's shirts fit me almost perfectly and quality-wise they are the rivals of pretty much any made in USA shirt I own, so if I'm going with something that's not outsourced I always land back at LL Bean for its quality to cost ratio. I've had my eyes on Filson's Cascade shirt and Alaskan Guide shirt for some time though and will probably grab those at some point.

I check Sierra Trading Post out regularly and I have about a forty five minute drive to their Cheyenne store where they sell seconds and thirds. I got two pairs of Wolverine Thousand Mile Boots with very minor defects there last year for $35 per pair.

With Filson though i never pay full price on their stuff. Where'd you hear about the Levis guy being responsible for the logo idea? The logo irks me because now they're doing the same crap that Eddie Bauer does with their stuff, plus it looks horrible

I should just send Filson an email and tell them how moronic the embroidered logo is. Not that they'd listen but if there's one thing i can't stand its seeing a perfectly nice flannel ruined with a logo. Im not averse to the C.C Filson tag on their bags but on clothing its a no no

Picked up a pair of Mackinaw Wool Bibs. Hope they work for what I'll be using them for, snow removal. Thought at first I'd get the Double Tin cloth bibs but thought they may be to heavy. Anyone have a pair of the bibs or the mackinaw pants?

Went to the Filson outlet and they pretty much had everything that's on clearance on the Filson site. Didn't get anything though

Decent sale they have. Just nothing that grabs me. Agreed. I'm tempted by the dry duffel but I simply don't need it. The sizes for shirts and jackets were pretty picked over. If they had a Mackinaw wool vest in my size i would've likely bought

If they had a Mackinaw wool vest in my size i would've likely bought I nabbed the Short Lined Cruiser, and a Cascade shirt from the online sale. I got the size I wanted for the Cruiser. But, I had to take an XL for the Cascade. With what I've read about Filson sizing, it may be a tent. We shall see.

For a waxed garment it didn't feel very waxy to the touch. The sad part is, if they had the tan version i would've bought it. The cascade shirts are indeed big, even though it's the Seattle fit. I normally take a large in most other brands but went down to a medium for the cascade. It shrank a little with a cold wash and dry so now it fits perfectly

I got a flannel hunting shirt, love it. Wish I'd gotten each color. Impossible to tell their sizing without trying it on. I had to send back a bell bomber jacket that was huge. Too bad because I really liked the fabric, magnum black, more of a really dark olive. Light weight, tightly woven cotton.

Tried to buy a shirt during the recent sale. After a week and a half with no shipping confirmation I sent a message. Turns out they oversold and so it sat there "processing" but no one reached out to let me know what was going on and they also didn't refund me. A week after that and still no refund so I sent a message again and got a short one line response telling me more or less to "wait longer."
Might as well have the best? I think I might as well try something else.
I know it's a little thing, but it really bummed me out that the situation was handled so poorly.

Interesting. The jacket I returned arrived there 6th. I called today about the refund. Was told it had been accepted and my refund is coming. Kind of smells like cash flow issues.

Laughable measurement of the day: just opened up the Jac-Shirt (basically a CPO) I got from Sierratradinpost and the damn thing is freaking huge. Like, 28" pit-to-pit huge...on a size 46. That's literally 10 inches bigger than the chest measurement! Here I was thinking the sizing on these things should be a little more TTS since it wasn't alphabet sized. Lesson learned, shirt headed back.

A little joking going on there. I did receive the refund I was due. It took a little while but actually the same amount of time it took Orvis. I got some good stuff at a great price this sale.

the new shirts look kinda boring imo. the only good thing I can see is they don't have that annoying Filson embroidered logo on the pocket
