Oooooooh yeah. Purple weft goodness. Not used to their slim straight fit - I have the tapered in a few other styles but couldn't pass these up. I'm hoping a hot soak below the thigh and cold above will get them where I want them. Fit: Slim Straight Fabric: 14oz PBJ custom Japanese denim - slubby deep indigo warp with purple weft Full albumTease:

bugula yeah, where did you find them in a 34? Denimio is supposed to notify me of a restock on these and the cobalt weft.

Would you mind comparing (anecdotally, not asking for measurement analysis) the pbj slim vs taper, and maybe how they compare to a Gustin slim?

Would you mind comparing (anecdotally, not asking for measurement analysis) the pbj slim vs taper, and maybe how they compare to a Gustin slim? to be blunt, slim's a straight leg and taper's a tapered leg. i'm a 34 in the straight and a 36 in the taper so the top block's a bit tighter on the taper where the slim's a more relaxed fit. the taper's closest to g's slim but i'm guessing it's a bit more snug. the top block in the g slim always has extra material in it on me while the leg's are somewhat fitted. so i'd say the two PBJs blended (top/bottom) equal the G slim. i'll probably be sending these out to Railcar for some tapering work but will see after i get 'em soaked.

bugula thanks. That's what I feared. BiG still hasn't gotten the message that the Yen has tanked and adjusted their prices. They are almost a full $100 above Denimio, which probably explains why they still have some and Denimio doesn't.

BiG is/has adjusted their prices.
I doubt it's palatable for them to take a loss on stock they've already paid for and they're the only retail option around for the XX-010.

Wow, I have never seen a purple weft. I was considering a blue weft for my next pair. But, these look very intriguing! I found a photo of a well worn pair. And I really like how they look. I think with about 2 years of hard wear in when the denim starts to rip a little and the purple weft threads showing would be very cool!

Preferably in the pop-up variation with the cobalt thread.

the cobalt weft is nice, but $345 from BiG. I wouldn't mind a pair myself but their measurements are a little off for me

Well, just went up and the only sizes available are 30, 38, 40, 42 and I need a 34 so that's $225 saved

Guess the earlier listing was not correct as they took it down almost immediately. The xx-010 are now live on the site. Looks like they are out of 33 and 34 one wash. I went with the 34 raw based on the BiG sizing for after a wash. Does anyone know if the BiG after a wash/soak is using a cold/warm/hot soak? The 34 raw has a 27 inch waist to start and I'm a 34-35 inch waist depending on rise. I figure it was better to go with the 34 raw and have them be a little big after a cold soak and be able to warm or hot soak them than go with a 33 and have them be small.

Glad you were able to nab a pair. I have only one pair of PBJ. But, that pair shrunk 2"+ in the waist, with a hot soak. All fit guides I have seen for them have indicated a significant amount of shrinkage, no matter the fit, or fabric. I wouldn't worry, they will shrink. Edit: If they are more than 2" larger in the waist, pre-soak, I would forego the cold soak, and start warm, at least.
