Has anyone had any experience with Indonesian denim? I've been on the lookout for something a bit different and stumbled across a few brands that caught my eye; though Old Blue Co, in particular looked very interesting. I love it when brands are so meticulous with the small details with regards to materials and what not, and the pricing is at the very least competitive; just slightly worried about the quality of the construction. A few websites if any one is bothered: www.oldblue.co/shop.htmlwww.sage.gs/product-category/bottoms/folta.co/id/Any thoughts?

I think old blue actually borrowed some of their "loomstate" copy from Gustin, but their product looks pretty nice. They seem to flat fell the outseam for those missing it from the Japanese repro brands.

youwinatlife Just had a read, thanks. The loomstates on there at the moment use locally sourced denim as opposed to cone/japanese; not sure how it compares but it could be worth a pop anyway. ickes A million rupiah is roughly 75 dollars. They are well priced but by no means a steal; though considering the materials involved the price is still very good. I'm not sure but they may do made to order as well? I may look in to it.

Indonesian denim...like to hear more on that. Pics in links look good - heavier weights too. Nation with an amazing textile heritage, so imagine they are well capable of great stuff. Tuning in on this one...wonder how construction weighs up? Thanks, bruns & brahs! Hope for more posts on this thread.

ickes - on the oldblue website down the very bottom on the left there are two links - one says IDR and next to it is USD. click on USD and it will show you prices in your local currency.

In the comments following the article, it would seem someone from OB states the denim for those was sourced from Japan.

Yeah - they said that at the end of this month or early September they'll take stock. They suggested I just do a made to order request which will take 25 days but I said what the hell and am having them make a tweaked slim in their Ranger II 19oz and Highlander 21oz denims.

Ah fair enough! Any ideas if the prices are accurate on the MTO page? It says $125 for the 21oz, but then the equivalent from IDR is slightly over $90. I know it's only $30 or so, but it makes a difference.

you can adjust the fit since they're making the pair to order and change any of the measurements you want.

Received this this morning:

Hi,
Thank you for your inquiry, we can ship to Georgia via EMS which costs USD 45, EMS is the cheapest shipping service.
The price stated on the website is international price, so all international orders use that price, to prevent from depreciation of currency.
So the total would be USD 125 + USD 45 for the shipping cost.
The MTO would be finished by 25 working days after you made the payment, you can make the payment to our PayPal account : sageseesmore@yahoo.com.
Thank you!

$170 is perhaps a bit too steep. I was expecting (hoping?) for shipping to come under $20 (though I do live in Tbilisi) and the prices to stay in IDR. Maybe wishful thinking. Still look great, but won't rush at them for now.
