yeaaaaahhhhh. grabbed 'em as soon as the email came through. soon you're going to have to take a week off from work to soak all your denims. I like to imagine bugula 's closet when he mentions the next new thing he's ordered. When he parts ways with them, though, he's a great seller and very generous with his pricing, so I sometimes feel bad when I call him out on Gustin hate -- he's certainly bought enough from them (and everyone else) to form an opinion. This is sounding weird and awkward. Guess I'm just saying that I wish he'd take more pictures for vicarious closet-stocking.

only at 6 that need it so far - might be able to do two a day if i'm motivated. they're all heavier weight than i can wear right now so it's time to start gathering the candles and reading material for when the time comes.... i'm looking at two more unsanf'd releases so it very well could turn into a week-long soak extravaganza.

Guess I'm just saying that I wish he'd take more pictures for vicarious closet-stocking. hahahahah i was going through my past G purchases and thought they'd started to shed older purchases just to realize the history is now paginated. :scary: too much info but i have a small place and i have only a single double door closet and a coat closet. this forced me to buy a rolling rack like in the returns area at some stores. the main closet is used for shirts while the roller's got all some of my denim hanging on it. once i get my soak on, i'll have to re-evaluate the situation...each pair is hung by the back loop causing a fold which effectively doubles the width of each pair...need to start experimenting with hanging from a side loop and use the compression from every pair to force them out flat. surprisingly, about 50% of the rack is devoted to G but the number's reducing weekly. there are a few pairs left hanging up that i've not worn so they'll either get folded and put in the closet or hit the sales forum along with the two stacks i have waiting to be added. i like the recent purchases thread but it's a bit dry so i was going to start a brand-agnostic new arrivals topic and just take photos of things as they come in. until i get a full-length mirror that's probably as good as it gets for photos. but if i ever post about something and you want to see more of it, just let me know.

oh...and about my G hate (though this is the PBJ forum)... i don't hate them. other than a little too much material in the crotch, the slim is actually a very good fit for me. but i'm finding that i enjoy their more odd releases and tend to wear indigo from other brands. what i dislike about them are the shirt cuts. the scoops are over-exaggerated. i have a massive pile of shirts that i need to get photo'd and put up on eBay and my gf saw them and got upset that i was getting rid of so many "colorful" shirts (as she complains i only ever wear blue). so while yes, i'm sad to see my rocket flannel go, i showed her the scoops and she immediately understood why. also, a shirt like that one doesn't need the button down collar. it also doesn't do well with the tiny buttons (yes, the new(ish) buttons are still too tiny for me). i'd like to see them branch out from the cookie cutter OCBD like they did with the workshirt and offer a different style or two. i still have my workshirts in the closet. the final note on that...is that josh fancies himself a designer yet all he seems to be doing is handing successful pieces from others over to his pattern makers and sewers. i despise this. if that's what you want to do...fine, but call a spade a spade and own up to it.

$445..... I might be in if the measurements look good for me. I'm about to get rid of my 666XHS so I need a replacement pair of super heavyweight indigos.

That's a sick pair of jeans fellas. My IH 633's are a left hand twill IndigoxGrey just like this fabric and those things fade quick and with high contrast. Very cool looking fabric here.

But $445. Nearly half a grand. For jeans. Woo nelly. I mean, if you can swing it, swing away! By all means. But for me? Ho boy, I just couldn't pull that trigger. No judgment. At all. I just couldn't. Just like the Oni Shoai. Both very cool looking. Both very out of my price range.

Just let these be your gateway drug.

Maybe at $295 max. The price has too much overhead and collaboration markup. For me, the only thing interesting about them is the iron buttons (assuming they are solid iron). Too many retailers, IH included, use cheap buttons when they could be using better quality solid metals like brass, bronze, copper, stainless steel, etc.

And then charging you $20 extra if you want real MOP. That's pretty much lunacy, in my mind. For $300, I better be getting MOP snaps on my western and at least corozo or metal buttons or something else other than plastic on my workshirt. At least on a few of them they've started putting metal. But that's on 3 of their 13 work shirts. The rest: plastic.

I'm not spending 2.1 million for jeans. I mean i thought about it. But 2.1 million is a lot for this hobby. p.s. What is your currency? I'm making a few guesses, but aren't they 3663 in your currency? 285 pounds = 445 USD = 3663 krone. Assuming you're in Oslo?

Yup, I went through a time when I first got into IH and I wanted everything to be just a little better quality. I couldn't get my head around where the value was. Cheap snaps. Cheap buttons. Sometimes pocket linings. Overlocked inside seams etc. This was back when the Yen was strong and the 25 oz denim was at $495 from IH UK and I didn't know about Rakuten yet. Then I figured out it was just a market driven by controlled supply.

Wow yeah you are right its 3674.- the pound is almost 13 to the crown thats insane! I dont work with Gbp at all and it have been 10 for so long. I work with USD wich has been lowest 5.5 and is now about 8.4 on a ten year period. Euro has gone from 7,4 to 9 now and i dunno why..maybe because the price of oil is so much less. They have no Ikea, Saab, Volvo, H&M or Ericsson here like in Sweden (I am half Swede half Scottish btw) so i guess when oil fails it all comes down like a House of cards...

Huh....that's interesting cause I always thought the snaps were high quality on my Iron Heart shirts. Lawless...now those seemed like some cheap ass snaps. I hate the snaps on the Lawless shirts. I'm not a snap expert but I like the IH snaps. Who uses a better snap?

I'm not a snap expert but I like the IH snaps. Who uses a better snap? Flat Head westerns have MOP snaps. My TS Cone Glacier and Jacquard use brass-edged "pearl" (dunno if MOP). The TS work chambrays use real bone buttons. The TS indigo ticking has corozo. Other TS items use metal buttons. The Hill Side chambrays use corozo nut (some Hill Side items use shell). Hell, some of my J.Crew things have corozo or shell buttons. My LVC popover has bone. Lee 101 uses MOP. My Freewheelers uses iron buttons. So does my Toys McCoy. Buzz Rickson uses a replica of vintage Bakelite, but that's plastic. But it is to copy vintage and a more expensive process to get than just regular plastic buttons. Nudie uses metal on their westerns. 3sixteen uses corozo. My Old Blue Denim Co. Shirt Jac has hand-carved wood buttons. My PBJ has real grey MOP. A lot of the RRL has metal and corozo and horn and wood. And, of course, Gustin has real MOP buttons. So...most? Most use better?

Huh, never really noticed a difference between the snaps on my TS shirts and the snaps on my IH shirts but I never really examined them. So I guess the good snaps from IH are only available if the shirt is pimpable? I could've sworn some IH shirts had MOP snaps but I could be wrong.

I love my IH shirts. But I love them at the $150 I paid vs. the $250+. I will probably pimp them with MOP, though.
