Next you'll learn that you can only wear so many jeans and it takes a year to eighteen months of pretty consistent wear to really break in a pair. I think we all start with hoarding and then start to cull back. I have a summer pair and a winter pair of indigo with contrast stitching in rotation. Everything else is non traditional. I may add one more pair of "tweeners" for good measure. I think I'm getting close to that part (talking about the oz). I have 13-16oz raws. But would like to get at least 2 more light weights which I consider them to be a 13-14oz. Once the winter hits again I'll pickup an 18oz.

True. Maybe I'll go back to BiG and try them on when I have a chance.

The beauty of unsanforized and loose weaves is that it's not hard to get a 35 waist if you soak to about a 34-34.5". I tend to buy slightly undersized in the waist as it ends up working fine after a few wears, rather than being too loose and sloppy looking. Haven't owned a pair of unsanforized yet. Im just scared that I'll soak them to long and they will shrink a bit to much in the waist and the length. I tried down sizing to a 34. Wasn't to bad in the waist, but the thighs and crotch area was to much to handle.

Good man, I knew you'd come to your senses. I was just thinking about your practice and realized that of all my jeans, I only have one pair that I'd replace exactly if my kid painted them, I had some sort of scattalogical disaster or the masked jean thief struck. I was on a raw rampage. Don't know what I was thinking, but I know that extra money I spent on those 2nd pairs could of went to other brands instead. You live and you learn.

My issue with the 12 and 13 is that the rear rise is a little low, the thighs are a little tight and there's very little taper from the knee down. The 19's fix all of that, but I think they may have a little too much rise, and the current denim choice doesn't do much for me. Waiting on a tonal set. I agree w/ you. Honestly if most companies made a 35 waist I think most of my issues would be fix regarding the waist and rear rise, but sadly I have to deal with a 36. Now as for the 19s the rise is slightly higher, which makes it different from what I'm use to. Which is why I didn't pick them up as well as them being of a more relaxed tapered.

Since I began my selvedge binge I've picked up 2 pairs of each pair that I own. At first I figured why not get 2 of the same pairs, I will eventually wear them, but now I just where 1 of each pair. Plus the funds wasn't an issue for me since I work hard for my money. So I might be posting up a 2 pairs of Levi's 511, 1 pair of Left fields, 1 of Brave Star (that's currently getting tailored from a slim straight to slim tapered), and a pair of Raleigh Denim work shop. The Levi's and left fields are new w/ tags. The Brave star is also new without tags, but is getting tailored to become a slim tapered fit and the Raleigh Denim workshop is a used pair (worn 2/3 times if you count the initial try on) all of the pairs are a 36 waist size. The only pair that is altered are the brave star. No washes or soaks on any pairs as well.
Let me know if you're interested. I'll upload photos of them all during the week.

Same fit as the 12's you didn't like, just a more traditional contrast stitch and white weft. Have you considered the 19's? Suspiciously high rise, but more taper than any other PBJ cut. BiG should have all three in once washed if you want to try them on locally. The 19s are more of a relax tapered. Not sure when I'll have the time to go back to BiG.

Might of put it in the wrong thread. Sorry Update: deleted post as put it in the PBJ thread. Sorry about that No worries. We've all done it, at some point. You may not get as many responses here, though. It's better to keep this thread on topic, as well. Gotcha.

Consider the Momotaro 0202 from Denimio or the 0306 from BiG. Sanforized, but still cool and available in indigo x black or indigo x cobalt. The indigo black is nice, but the other one is a bit to much for me

Also, if you liked the texture of the pbj denim, I don't believe these are close in that they're not as slubby or loose wieved. I know. I can tell by the photos. I might just have to pickup the PBJs from blue owl and send them out to railcar

alphatectz - Did you look at the sizing tab on the site? Based on the hem opening and description, they look pretty tapered to me. I would measure a pair you own that you like using the blue owl measuring guide and see if they are sized the way you like them or not Yeah I checked, I'll take a look at my left fields and compare them.

It would be fun if we noticed some crime, inadvertently captured in the background of your fit pics. Lol

That's what I meant, probably take an inch out of the cuff, tapered from the existing knee down. Gotcha, I think I'm better off ordering them online and getting them tapered to my liking.

So I decided not to get them. Green in blue doesn't offer tapering.

Yeah, the 12's and 17's I've been considering would need a taper from the knee down. I think the knee is fine for me. Just the bottoms need help.

They aren't as tapered as I like, but they do look great. Went with the 36.

Lol DAD jeans. I agree with you on that part though. That's why I'm so hesitant. You'll be fine, trust me. That first double indigo pair is the hardest to embrace but before you know it you'll have the whole tuxedo. Just be sure you like the fit in store; it's been said a bunch but it's true, fit really is most important. Indeed. I actually picked up a pair of the new Nike SB Reese Forbes Highs (Denim) I have a regular denim jacket from Levi's, but would like to get a Raw one sooner or later.

That's the thing. Never worn black or owned a pair of chinos. Well, it has been said..... There's a first time for everything. Indeed
