Well that would make Indigo the biggest tonal blasphemy. Like those sexy viridians

Why is tonal despised so much? I take it it's more than a meme. I've never had a pair so I'm curious

Anyone else back the powder blue chambray: www.weargustin.com/store/2648? I like it yet was wondering what anyone else though of its rough texture compared to others. I'm almost ready to sew buttons on with a sewing machine. Almost figured it out. I opted out of that one and into the periwinkle, which is pretty burl(ap)y. I like it, though I wish it were a workshirt given the nature of the fabric. I was sewing buttons on my workshirt the other day by hand, and I suppose a machine would be nice, but I've got them on there pretty solid at this point, I think I would prefer all my buttons sewn by hand since you just can't do things like wrap thread around the underside of the button to support the sewn thread or whatever. They're just far more secure than a machine is capable of doing. The powder blue has a burlap feel like you mentioned. I do like the shirt. I undid the collar buttons. Sewn by hand is good. It's possible I read to do both. First with machine and then taking thread, wrapping it around, using hand needle to take it to through to the back, and finally tying it to the other back thread. Saves time but may not be as good

Oh, I was saying the thighs on my order are currently set for 10.7in until I get the pattern in and it's too tight (especially since Ciano is 1in closer to the crotch in thigh measurements). I don't want to be a harbinger of doom, and I really wish you the best, but that sounds like it's going to be extremely painful in 23oz even if you do squeeze into them. I know right. I already see my error. Might need to change it to like an 11.2 or more. Other measurements are actual waist: 35 front rise: 10 back rise: 14 knee: 8 cuff: 7.1

I don't doubt you at all, just wrapping my head around things. I don't think you're wrong either. I appreciate the stuff you've said.
What do you mean by requesting the same size as the fit guide? I'm guessing when my custom pattern comes in they'll be too tight in the thighs for me... if not it'll be close to too tight.

I've ordered some custom 23oz and Ciano says the pattern is on the way soon. I ordered them extra tight and will probably need to loosen up the thighs (10.7) for the real deal.
Are you saying that Gustins are a higher back rise? I still don't see how a 12.5in thighs can be slimmer than 11.45in even if measured from an inch closer to the crotch, at least not yet.

Knowledgeable and timely guy. Everything went smoothly and I have nothing but good things to say. Got a Taylor Stitch Khaki Highland Twill and I love it.

I'm looking at Cianos fit guide in relation to Gustins.
The numbers show that Gustins slim should be slimmer than Cianos.
For instance I'm a 33 slim in Gustin and the jeans are a half size too big in waist and thigh. Cianos not actual size 32 slims are labeled as 12.5 in the thighs vs Gustins 11.45 thighs.
If Cianos are slimmer than Gustins the math doesn't seem to add up as Cianos jeans ought to be 2in wider in the thigh.
Also, I don't really understand Cianos shrink measurements. They are sanforized so shrink shouldn't be a big factor, no?
I do notice on thigh measurements that Gustin measures 2in down from crotch whereas Ciano measures 1in down. Does this make a huge difference?

I am hoping for open ended answers. I heard the black loomies didn't shrink much.
Very happy you talked about unsanforized fabric too. I'm not sure the difference between unsanforized and loomstate in terms of Gustin descriptors

Which loomstate offerings shrink a lot and which not so much?

Why would someone want a subtle coating that has an almost rubber like feel?
That sounds pretty weird to me

What's an easy proper way to re-dye jeans or chinos that have the above issue? Maybe with like black dye or whatever won't cost an arm and a leg
Edit; I used powder black rit dye like 61scout mentioned below on my gustin graphite military twill chinos and it worked like a charm. One black packet turned em grey navy and black. They are more versatile, fit great and no visible damage anymore. I won't be buying anymore gustin chinos because they don't fit me well without ruining them first. Can't wait to get some ciano farmer chinos soon tho (not gonna mess those up)

Do the workshirts sew up big or just long? I want to try a workshirt, but can't justify going in without having an idea how the sizing is. I've only bought the Postal work shirt from G, and luckily it was an inch short per spec in length. Even so, it is a skosh longer than I prefer, and I'm 6'2". I would say the length is generous, to say the least. [b r] I'm 6'1" and fit well in a medium classic fit for button ups. Medium slim is too tight. Any advice about attempting a medium slim in a workshirt since they seem to sew up larger than button ups?

I've never owned moleskin and no one seems to be hyping them up. Still eying em
I've been suspicious of my chinos but I wore them again last night and nothing happened. Must of been the chanterelle mushrooms or preservatives on them. It was freaking me out

Whatcha think of the new moleskins?
Also I think I might be having an allergic reaction to a pair of graphite military twill chinos. I wonder what's up with that

High heat dryer. Totally affected the dye Let me guess looks water marked? I dunno what water marked means on clothes. It looks like the pants creased in certain spots and the dye left those spots. It's slightly faint but not pretty at all. Very soft feeling. I'll still wear em
