headed to their trunk in SF next weekend if I'm not too tired from the wedding the night before. going to try on shoes since i want to get the horsehide sport trainers next time. Also, want to see their other clothing in person to see how they actually are. Cant wait for your report. Let them know it would be nice if they made pants and shirts STOCK in larger sizes.

The shoulder width is off for a jacket of this nature. I looked at an XXL, and the measurements are pretty normal but for an 18.25 shoulder. We must remember that these San Fran guys don't ever swing an ax. Oh no. Not liking the low sole or the general look of those boots.
Reminds me of G boots and so many other boots I see on Ma**Dr*P. (descriptors redacted)
I was thinking about that moto shirt and still may but not sure it's unique enough for me to spend that much on it.

I'm in Portland so yeah, there's a bunch of body mods that are even more mainstream than the national average. The piercer who did mine said Prince Alberts are fairly common and he even does 2-3 Apadravyas a month. My wife was hesitant about this at first but got on board after reading up on the "benefits" for a bit. She has tattoos and piercings as well so she's far more open minded of such things as a result. You're right though, it's incredible how taboo certain things were such a short time ago and how accepted they are now. Well enjoy. Genesis P Orridge is featured in that book and I was/am a big fan of early Psychic TV, especially the Live Series they did. PTV was heavily influenced by all cultures and liked to practice information dissemination in a time before the internet. Fun stuff. "Our aim is wakefulness, our enemy is dreamless sleep"

I guess I'm missing something here, but I say whatever floats yer boat. Well one thing that many people don't know is that there are functional benefits to having your bannana pierced in certain ways. After it heals.........of course. And after you get someone to agree to allow you to "use" it with them. Some negatives are healing, peeing sitting down, and getting said agreement, and that having a pierced bannana may interfere with safe sex practices. And if you think getting it pierced is bad, you should see what the Japanese do with pearl sized implants. I got super excited in like 1990 I stumbled upon a store in Columbus that had some jewelry that was brought back from Africa. I walked out of there with a larger hoop earring that came to a point and the gauge got thicker at the end. I also walked out with an earring slightly larger than a quarter that had a gauge about as big around as a nail. SO I used the first earring to stretch the hole in my ear to get the second earring in. This was way before different gauge needles were readily available or that piercing shops were anywhere much outside of I think mostly SF at the time in CONUS. TLDR: The book Modern Primitives is an early example of piercing and tattoo culture that used to be an outsider culture. 27 years after it's initital publication many of the practices detailed inside are now mainstream.

So you got an ampallang? I was seriously thinking about doing that for a few years but never did it. I was super into this book when it came out, way back in the old days, before all the kids were doing it. I ended up with a bit of black work but stopped. Have not had anything done in like 23 years. I got an Apadravya, it's vertical instead of the horizontal Ampallang. I was mildly interested in scrotal piercings as a post grunge middle schooler and gave myself a couple with safety pins. Spent some time at the local nude beach over the summer and my interest was renewed due to the male piercing sightings. First professional piercing but I have some tattoos with plans to get at least one more before the year's over. Never seen that book, I'll have to check it out. Nice. Yeah, buy that book, it's awesome and well worth the money.

Purchased an Apadravya piercing yesterday. Technically I'm wearing it so thought this would be a good forum to post in. Also, none of you actually know me IRL so I can (admittedly) be an attention whore without risking my coworkers finding out and labeling me a deviant. SFW pic of said piercing: So you got an ampallang? I was seriously thinking about doing that for a few years but never did it. Really cool piece Dan reran from last year. Highly recommended. So comfy, works with jeans or khakis... And looks much better in your shots than his.

Beautifully made jackets.. However the sizing of the jackets never worked for me.. And RPMWEST was never clear on the exact measurements for each of the sizes when they first released these. Ended up ordering a medium initially that was too big..Exchanged it for a small and it was a little too small. I wish the sizing of these jackets worked for me.. @dishelved good luck with the sale. I was struggling with buying one of these when they first came out, and I still kindof feel like doing so. The thing for me was the size charts did not specify sleeve length but I think I finally did get them to give me a number. Just sill for them NOT to have sleeve length on the size chart. Price was really good on those.

Anyone considering a flyer on the Brave Star flannel? I am debating the white/black but honestly, the originality attempt with diagonal pattern on the button-downjust throws it off a little. Maybe for $68 I need to overlook and accept the quality for the price. After further review, I'm going to go ahead and answer my own question on this. It's a shirt that will make bentin twitch. False alarm, carry on. I got monkey arms so easy pass. You wanna make Bentin twitch, post pics of yourself in a Pendelton Westerley.

For Brave Star? Or Ciano? On the latter, I get that. Haven't seen those discussions on the former. Ciano. When I'm on my phone it's impossible to tell which brand it is in these general discussion threads, so when two brands getting equal coverage on one thread... Yes MODS, all General Discussion threads should have the name of the MFG in the thread title. Thanks!

G just shared the "secret" campaign on the Instagram "Your Story" feature with the back end of the URL to basically make them public. I guess they aren't seeing the bite from the "select few" who received the invite to the secret campaign. Yeah, well, sweaters, sneakers, crappy boots, scarves, ugly coats, underwear ............ not interested I guess I should just say Jeans and T's and Button downs for me.

The idea of scarcity/limited availability to justify a higher-than-necessary price isn't really working in this instance. Dead stock fabrics and even limited runs that they manage to outbid another manufacturer for would be something to get excited over. I dont like sweaters. I have played with the idea of getting a button down cardigan but don't think I'd use it much.

I have the Cone BlackxBlack - I really like them. Definitely easy to break in. The more plain selvedge ID works with the all black nature, I think. are they fadey with grey coming in pretty quickly, or do they stay black forever like candiani? Bravestar just put these up for preorder.

In my experience this is a old tired line. There is a percentage of them that we know come out poorly, but the assumption on this board is that it's the default, and I don't believe that is the case. I am wearing one right now for the first time today and not only does the placket match either side of the shirt, both arms are pretty effin close on both sides (plaid alignment to shoulders). So buy what you want, but it's really just not all that bad. i'm sure a percentage do sew up reasonably well...but we haven't really seen much evidence of that here. there have been a few times when people have posted samples they claimed were fine, and then when the issues were pointed out responded with 'you're just being nitpicky'. maybe...but for the price i'd rather have something that looks like it was sewn with the lights on...other vendors manage to accomplish that. the one and only G button down i have isn't aligned well at all and i really can't recall seeing anyone posting photos of one that was aligned well. we've also seen photos of ridiculously slanted patterns, patterns turned 180 degrees on opposite sides of the shirt, etc. so to echo stinky , i'm not sure why anyone would risk spending a fair chunk of money ($70-$125?) to wait 2-3 months and hope they got it right...especially if you don't like the high side scoops, single button option, and of course utmost dedication to that tall button down collar. I'll post pictures later so you guys can go to town on it. For most mortals, they are fine. And yes, if they were that bad on a regular basis they would not still be selling shirts. Hyperbole run amok here. Empirical quantitative evidence? Not so much. No scoops on the tall. I have plenty of issues with G and their shirts but the alignment thing is a meme that has taken on a life of it's own. G is one of the few options I have for fit and I know there are others like me out there. I'm a dissenting voice to "all G plaids are horrible" and I stand by "It's not that bad". As to the money thing, I can get 3 G shirts shipped for $240 and only 2 at other places for the same amount and usually less interesting fabrics. *dead horse .gif x 10000*

Not trying to be a hater or anything, but it amazes me that anyone who is a participant on this forum still buys G plaid shirts. In my experience this is a old tired line.
