To give another opinion: I received my Wabisabi workshirt today (classic M) and am very impressed. The fabric is stiff and substantial, the look unique and the construction as good as I could have hoped (not perfect, but close enough for a workshirt). On the fabric: none of the photos I've seen have been able to capture the vintage look of the fabric with the indigo/brown shades, and the red selvedge ID really pops against it. I also received a RRL selvedge workshirt today and the Gustin easily holds its own. Well done to Gustin and thank god the pockets are cut straight. B. Are those the Brown Organics in your profile pic? They look great!

Do you usually provoke your wife for compliments? Jk brah, that's awesome. I wish my body type would fit in a workshirt, but I don't think I'm tall or skinny enough. chick at my house yesterday saw my WabiSabi hanging in my closet and said "GQ magazine called and they want their jacket back.."...lol..I was like wtf?? First off, it's a WS and second off its bad ass. She meant that statement as an insult btw...whatever....she just don't know what's up And so you sent her home with no pancakes the next morning?

I've been wearing the heck out of the Wabisabi -- bought it as an overshirt and it's been warmer than expected, which has been nice otherwise I wouldn't be able to wear it until Spring. Winter came with Christmas and it seems to have snapped hard. I'm not that fabric-experienced, but I'm a huge fan of this one -- I love how different light seems to give it different looks, and would love to track down something like it without the white thread stripes (just the herringbone pattern) since the interaction between the indigo and olive is sort of captivating (caught myself staring at it). Mine is a slim XXL, which has me looking forward to the Italy Brown x Black workshirt since I actually ordered that one sized for shirt-wearin', and the slim really comes together better with my body-shape than the classic. Someone had mentioned how they wish the pockets were pattern aligned, which I thought might be asking quite a bit given the way the fabric is -- they would have to waste a lot of fabric to get the white vertical stripes aligned. I vacillate on whether or not I regret that the alignment was changed from the 45 degree offset on this one (which was accomplished largely by community members here). I like them vertical, but I still wonder what they'd look like at an angle -- the hickory strips doesn't look nearly as distracting as I thought it would. Oh, and my yoke is bang-on this time, so either they said something or the guys in the workshirt factory implemented a no drinking at lunch policy (or they made mine in the morning).

Been HECTIC at my end during this festive season. Received my SakeBomber about a week ago but haven't been able to get to it until today. I went with XXL slim. My first XXL shirt (in 62 years!). Sensational & unique fabric - think it's gonna really benefit from fading. Good construction. Always in sync w/ Subsound re. alignment &/or straight pockets issues!! Not sure that I'll still pimp it as I'd intended...gave it a soak in very hot water &, like several other members, the post-soak fit is very good. Congrats, Gustin, on a job done well! Really dig my SakeBomber!!

My HS WS was bleeding indigo like crazy during hand wash today. After couple wears during the last two weeks, I consider it as a total loss ($155 down the drain). I later decided to dump it in the same tube that was soaking my Lee selvedge jeans to indigo dyed the Hickory Strike. I am going to have fun with it before putting into the trash or burn it at my back yard. Photos of my Hickory Stripe work shirt after all the damage that I had done this past weekend. This is now a full blown blue color shirt now. Btw, even with cold hand wash and hang dry, the width of the shirt had shrink more. Its Perfect! While every other Hickory stipe owner (myself included with my TS) is pussy footing around, your making a master piece! One of a kind! The kind of shirt that says yea I wash and wear my work wear like a real man. Not like a posser! Go ahead and bleach it now (like a good wife would do for her Man).

I'm tempted to offer to buy it off you

gusjin yeah, it was tailor and fit is pretty much perfect now. The only problem is the fabric... not going to sell it since it looks so much better in the picture than in real life... Griffin yeah, it is the bright plaid. I really like the fabric but still puzzle on why the Gustin's fit has the top block so tight and the waist being loose. I bought it used and had since put it in the washer/dryer twice. The chest is getting even tighter but the waist and length are better now. Will take some fit photos when I have a chance.. don't wear it often enough..

Photo's look much better on my cell phone screen than my pc. Try viewing em on your phones unless you have a better screen than i do See this pic right here? The collar curls down on one side and up on the other. My Zim WS does the exact same thing and it's really my only beef with the shirt at this point. I'm thinking about ironing the collar with some starch to see if I can fix it. Either that or I could get it tailored for collar stays, but that seems a bit stuffy for a work shirt.

You could iron it, or dampen the collar a bit and wear a hoodie zipped up most of the way with the collar adjusted how you want. The hoodie holds the collar in place as it dries. (I do the latter)

usctroll, my IxI WS did the same thing too after my first hot wash/hot machine dry cycle. I just washed it for the second time this weekend in the tub, cold hand wash with Woolite and then I shaped the collar when I pulled it out of the tub and let it hang dry and the collar is back to normal. Maybe give it a shot??? BTW, I have already lost one button on my IxI WS but it was one of the pocket buttons so not a huge deal. I will say that after the second wash though that this thing is really taking on a nice color and is wearing in very nicely.

Its too bad that Gustin doesn't offer the Woolrich Herringbone in the work shirt, and a little better priced. I recently picked up the TS Mariner CPO, and it is twice the weight at 16oz, and is a classic styled CPO, and fits perfect. In my opinion, Gs version is too long, has too many pockets, and overpriced for an 8oz shirt.

I washed and dried my PHB to try to shorten the length, even though it sewed up short. Shows they make them too freakin long. Anywho, collar got a little out of whack. I just re-wetted the collar and shaped it how I wanted, and let it dry. All is good now.

I have the Fidelity CPO in 22oz and it is very soft and not heavy/thick..... 8oz shirt is lighter than some of the Gustin's Chambray but based on the picture, the CPO looks much heavier.

Yes it will always do that after a wash and a dry like I did. I ironed it along with the bottom of the shirt since these photo's. It really wont help because the herringbone pattern makes for inconsistent thickness of the denim. The denim wants to curl right in those spots I notice but doesn't bother me really. Of course the collar I play with but I don't get to crazy over it

My experince with Woolrich, is that some of their wool is more coarse, and open, which makes it appear more burley than it is. I agree the pictures make it appear to look much heavier than it really is. I can wear my TS without a T underneath, with no itch, but I would guess the Woolrich would not be so.

Can also be the difference between fabric weighted by the linear yard vs square yard

Don't understand why people wants to back a wool shirt right now. I like to buy ONE season ahead. So, I will buy fall in the summer, summer in the spring, etc. But many of these KS and new companies need to get on board with seasons. Who wants to wait for months to get gear you have to wait 6-9 months to wear? Not me.

Don't understand why people wants to back a wool shirt right now. I'm still wearing a lot of wool NOW, but not so much in a month or so. I bought the TS shirt, because I knew I'd get it in a couple of days. Even if I liked the Gustin CPO, I wouldn't back it now, knowing it might not possibly show up until April-May-June?
