Japan Black (Classic Large) landed this afternoon. A $29 customs charge is making the bill on this one add up (Argh!) First (very quick) thoughts: - Really like the denim. Blacker than black with a bit of a sheen. I think it will wear nicely. - Measurements are dead on the fit guide. And I mean exact, with the exception of the shoulder (0.5" smaller) and length (I forget how much right now... maybe 0.5" shorter). Both work better for me, although the shirt is still an inch too long. - Hard to say much about the fit as it is very stiff right now and I think will need a soak to get a better sense. The waist is really boxy. It looks a bit big on me (though I really only tossed it on for a second to have a quick look before getting back to work). I probably would have been better off with a Medium but that is my fault. - Buttons are not great. They are a bit small and feel like they could easily tear off given the weight of the denim. I am also not sure why they used navy coloured buttons on this one? It isn't noticeable from afar but is when you get close. Black would have been a lot better. That's all that comes to mind right now. Looking forward to fit pics of this.

So, this is a lot like starting a conversation about last weekends NFL scores on a Friday night, but my USPS delayed Postal WS came while I was out of town. First impessions:
This thing is awesome. I haven't checked measurements vs spec yet but it fits really well. I went slim XL and it fits like a WS should, shoulders and arms are perfect for me and a bit of room but not a box or blousy fit on the waist. I'd actually consider taking the sides in a bit to loose another inch or so around the waist but this is pre soak soak so I'm going to wear it for a while, get it dirty and soak it. It's long but so is my torso so life is good. The seams are straight, the gussets are even. The buttons are a bit small but it's not a deal breaker. At first glance, I think this might be the best Gustin product I've received. You guys know I'm not afraid to say something is off when it's off, this shirt looks ON.
Larger review and a couple fit pics this weekend but in the mean time, I'd have to say G really stepped it up on this shirt. I feel a lot better about the upcoming Sakebomber and the brownxblack now.

Inb4 posts about making decisions at getting this at less than 50% with a different brand. On a more serious and related note, awesome that it worked out for you. Can't wait to see the fit pics.

Nice, Steve. Post up the fit pics when you get a chance. My Zim WS should be here this coming week and I'm fired up.

OK guys, fit pics. This shirt isjust a bit on the big side but I'm I'm happy with this fit as it stands and I think I'll like it even more after soak/shrink and a proper drape kicks in. Stiff right now. Shoulders are right where I want them and I ordered this shirt with the intention of using it as an over layer (what passes for a jacket most of the time in socal). Measurements coming later. In short I'm REALLY happy with this shirt. I'm 6-2, wide shoulders, long torso, narrow waist. Shirt is a slim XL . Regular G shirts fit me like crap, but I haven't tried the "tall". This shirt fits me like the best workshirts on the market. Seams on this thing are straight. The triple shoulder and side seams are fugging awesome. Mini finish/bartacks are aligned and consistent. This thing is built right. Some of the early reviews for the IxI and other workshirts had me scared, but this thing is a totally different animal. Perhaps denim lends itself better to the sew shop and patern, I don't know. I dropped Gustin a long note saying "good job". They earned it. I know we are all talking about LD right now ( me included as I've started ordering post Kickstarter stuff from them and plan to continue as they keep impressing me) but I wanted to give Gustin some props on this shirt. Credit where credit is due. Two more coming and looking forward to them.

I think everyone has different style but the fit is just not I normally prefer. However, I do love your jeans.. they are so so nice...

When did the postal herringbone finish funding? I want to get a sense when I can expect my Cone 101 shirt.

One of the better looking fits of a G work shirt. Length of course is a preference and if you are happy then all is good.

I cannot seem to get any decent pics of my Japan Heavy WS to share. The fit is very similar to @stevekas WS. I'm also treating mine more like a jacket. It's bigger than I would like but as a jacket it's fine. If I had went with the Classic Medium I think it may have been perfect. I wore it this weekend shovelling snow and cleaning out my garage and it was really comfortable to work in. Funny, while I really doubt Gustin created it to be a true "work" shirt, it seems to fit the bill for me.

I would think that thick fabric will stand up to some actual work with ease.

yeah jamesr my IxI fits like @stevekas WS also and I have found that it actually works great for an actual WS like you said. I use it as a shirtjac in my shop and it works good.

Stinky and Wils - It's funny that one of my all time favorite jeans were home dyed. If you'd asked be prior to doing it what I expected, my expectations for the results were MUCH lower. Now I love them.
Additional general comment on the fit - I agree the shirt is a tad large/long to be used as a well fitted shirt currently. DD's Postal HB fit is more along the lines of what I would want for a pure workshirt. If you check my post in "The Flat Head" Other Brands thread you'll see how I like a shirt to fit, at least my western shirts. I think a Gustin slim L workshirt would fit me in that way.
I want to look into getting both the SakeBomber and the brownxblack brought in a bit at the waist and shortened a little bit AFTER I've worn and soaked the postal HB. I have a really good tailor but these shirts are triple needle on the side seam so I may need to look elsewhere, Railcar etc. Reducing length is not so tough but that triple needle seam looks a bit daunting. I was going to switch my fit on those to L slim but they went to cutting too quickly.
Self threadjack - curse all you bastards who bought out the IH Henleys at Rodeo Bros. I know who you are!
OK back to G.

Now I love them. I have a pair of 1776 naturals in the hopper from Lawless, and I hope that mine turn out looking as good as yours. I'm having them sewed up with olive thread and red tacks, so they should be interesting.

Based on your belts, I'd say you have a good chance at them coming out great! I'm looking at getting more pigment myself. Cool stuff.

@stevekas bastards buying all the henleys! Seriously! They had stock and I thought, "well, those are nice Heneleys, I'll pick one up". While the price is good compared to US retail, no need to rush because they certainly aren't cheap. I'll check my cash flow and if things look good I'll get one sometime this week. Then Ickes, untucked and a few others line up in blitz formation and it's like a cornfield after locusts run through. My online pants friends are a bunch of sharks I tell ya..... I'm sure Rodeo Bros and a few other shops are sitting there wondering what the sales spike is all about for November.

Hahahaha online pants buddies! That's awesome.
Rodeo bros is an awesome company to deal with and I will buy from them again. The hand written note is a treasure I will hold dear for years.
Can't wait for the restock. I think the GF will buy me one henley.

Just don't have the time to put up a long review (and my fingers get sore from pecking on my phone:) so I'll just post up some pic and some comments Here we go - THE GOOD, BAD and the UGLY 1st the good - love the fabric. Has a nice vintage dusty look. Not to HBone. Pairs well with dark jeans I think. Pockets are nice size, shape, placed. Collar not to big or small or pointy, just right. I think the construction on this Postal is Gustins best yet (placket and yoke is maybe off by 1/8 if at all. I like Ill post the bad and ugly in a bit.

1st the Good -
Wicked Awesome Fabric! Has a nice vintage dusty look (but not to much). Pockets are good size, not to small or big and well placed. Same with the collar. Construction is Great (placket and yoke are strait, within 1/16") Stitching is strait and tight. Fit is very good for me. Very well made.

The Bad - Buttons are to small/thin (not horrible but could be better). Would rather the buttons they use on the chinos. Sleeves are an inch to long (I just roll/fold half the cuff. Makes for a different look). There's no button on the sleeve slit (or how ever you call it). I like to turn my cuffs in when I need my hands. Without the button the cuff just doesn't hold (ill post a pic later if anyone's interested). Collar/Neck is about an inch to big (but I new that when I backed it). Buttons will need to be sew better a few have loosen (and no spares) But I find this to be needed on most of my shirts. Arm pits are a bit tight. They pinch/tight if I've got a thermal on.

The UGLY - The Length! When I have to hike up my skirt, I mean shirt, to bend over or put my hands in my pocket, it's to long! Now its Gustins fault for designing it this way but I Clearly knew it was to long when I backed it. I was hoping I would grow to like it (not literally grow but I didn't. So instead of not wearing it I thought I might as well have my tailor take 1 1/2 inch off the bottom. Now there's plenty of scoop to do this and leave some of the scoop/curve to the gusset on. So after talking, pointing, drawing... Etc with my tailor this is the the UGLY Result

Well summarised DigDug. Thanks for pics, too!! Dug the movie ("Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo", Sergio Leone at the helm etc) Dig - but would've even opted for "The Bold and The Beautiful" given a choice!! IMO, no slur etc, just my opinion...not too cool for the price etc., etc. (& the tailor should be...dunno). Bummer. Well, seems likely that wabi sabi/SakeBomber is gonna be a stinker too. Very disappointing - I REALLY don't get it. DigDug is a member that I respect, big time, so, for me, his word is rock solid. Effin' bizarre. I gotta v. good tailor (yeah, lucky me) but man, just wanna quality shirt, bang it on, lookin' good, job done.
