Haha.. @wils.. you won't be laughing long. Jayhawks typically get a bit more vocal during basketball season Yeah, and people have to learn animal castration techniques somewhere . . . I had the misfortune of attending that Kentucky bloodbath in Indy last week.

So, my Postal HB is now camping out in Irvine. Normally, Gustin shipments come from SF to the Laguna postal office to my door. 2 Days every time. The Postal HB has taken a 6 day tour of greater Southern California. I was checking the update tonight and I noticed something I hadn't paid much attention to before....I think I've figured out when things went awry

Wish me luck guys! Dropped of the Postal at the tailor to have shortened. About an 1 1/2" from the bottom. I'm sacrificing the postal in view of the Wabisabi. Not sure how the tailor will make the curves by the gussets look (no matter what I say/point/draw, you never know DigDug, I'm definitely interested in how yours turns out - I want to do the same to mine. I'm also thinking about replacing the buttons with wooden buttons or med brown corozo buttons. I sent an e-mail Cody today, to let him know my Postal came in per spec, except an inch short in length. I highly recommended that they shorten up the work shirts, and start using larger buttons, as they are too small for a 12oz. fabric. Probably pissing into the wind on that though, but you won't get what you won't ask for.

They seem to be responding recently, whether that means change is in the wings, dunno. I was all excited for the new shirt buttons but the waffle dobby was mutilated so I won't be seein' em til January on the Blue Slate Twill.

I see some work shirts on the stock page. chambray, indigo, heavy black japan. Yeah, I rolled the dice on the Hickory Stripe. I ordered it in Slim XLarge (I've ordered Classic Large in G shirts before). If it comes in close to spec, it should fit pretty well and be a good overshirt with a layer or two beneath. If not...we'll see. Also, this could be a record setting G order: I ordered it about 7:30 EST last night and got the order confirmation email, then got the shipping email about 20 minutes later; I *should* have it in my hands tomorrow.

After some new development and a lot of begging (sad for an almost 50 years old guy), I think I have a solution for my Wabisabi work shirt. I will take it off from BST for now.... (not sure it makes much a difference since I have not gotten any offer for that... was surprised)

(not sure it makes much a difference since I have not gotten any offer for that... was surprised) Cause it worked so well on the Hickory Stripe. YOu could always have Circle Brand turn it into a few hats for $75 apiece. I hope the thing works for you, though. I have it coming in a slim so it will be interesting to see how an XXL Slim and an XL Classic compare since they're similar in size. I'm just wondering if it will pull out all that extra fabric your tailor is removing from yours. I'll let you know how it works out, since it seems like that part of the fit was the final straw for you. If it slims up a bit, and shrinks anything like the Hickory Stripe, I think it'll be pretty killer. You dont have to agree.

Did anyone here pick up the 13oz. black workshirt? I don't recollect anyone commenting on it, or seeing any pictures posted.

Quick post on the Postal. I HOT soaked and Hot Dryer. Little to no shrink in the width, about 3/4" of shrink in the length (still to long but I knew it was long when I backed it). Great denim, more gray then blue (will be interesting how and what color it fades). Buttons need to be bigger/better for a denim. Over all I like it. Post soak pic with a pair of Zim's I can make this exact same shirt for $45 in the next couple days from LD...... I already have a chore coat and chino in this fabric.... but I am really tempted.... decision... decision...

This was right up my alley but I really need snaps or bigger buttons for this thick of material. They could just put their button fly buttons on it. I want to see one also as I would think it will look great. My IHSH-08 fills my heavy black shirt needs just in a western style. Good pics of the G black shirt could put me over the top as there are some in the Stock store still. Black goes with most anything. For me anyways. Edit..I know would need to shorten it also.

DigDug, I think the fit on your WS looks very good. I hope mine fits as well as that.

I got the Postal, and would prefer they used a larger button, and of course have a snap option, but that isn't going to happen. I think it would be awesome if the stuff that made it to the stock page, was discounted ala Taylor Stitch's last call page. They have one in my size, but don't want to pay top dollars for a shirt I know is a little too long, and a couple other nit-picky things, and not seeing a picture of it.

I was going to go for the black but I held off. I'm glad I did because I ended up ordering a 14 oz black denim WS from Lawless with black snaps and black thread, and of course it was cheaper.

Did a hot wash/cold rinse on gentle wash/gentle spin and just did a quick length measurement while wet and now it's down to a good 29" from 31.5 with a 21.5 pit to pit width from 22.75. Tried it on and the sleeves are better too. Finally. Will hang dry and check all numbers again. Feels good

PBH arrived £25 customs It fits (albeit boxy), which means I'm kinda worried to wash it Buttons are small, but not loose like others reported from the first WS runs. I think that's why these were late, double checking QC

Japan Black (Classic Large) landed this afternoon. A $29 customs charge is making the bill on this one add up (Argh!)
First (very quick) thoughts:
- Really like the denim. Blacker than black with a bit of a sheen. I think it will wear nicely. - Measurements are dead on the fit guide. And I mean exact, with the exception of the shoulder (0.5" smaller) and length (I forget how much right now... maybe 0.5" shorter). Both work better for me, although the shirt is still an inch too long. - Hard to say much about the fit as it is very stiff right now and I think will need a soak to get a better sense. The waist is really boxy. It looks a bit big on me (though I really only tossed it on for a second to have a quick look before getting back to work). I probably would have been better off with a Medium but that is my fault. - Buttons are not great. They are a bit small and feel like they could easily tear off given the weight of the denim. I am also not sure why they used navy coloured buttons on this one? It isn't noticeable from afar but is when you get close. Black would have been a lot better.
That's all that comes to mind right now.

I wear the Classic XL in G's non-WSs and they fit fairly well - if I were to go up to a Classic XXL for a WS would I be swimming in it or would it just be a slightly looser fit? The increase in size doesn't look incredibly substantial (and the extra length would be welcome) but was wondering if anyone had experience working within their sizing.

bugula, yes you would be swimming in it. I would not recommend sizing up on the G WS at all. If anything I would say to size down.
