I dont get it. "Made in USA" is what we have now. Is everyone happy with the way things are? great. btw...I dont care who will sew the clothes, another USA company, another staff, china, sweden, i don't care as long as it will be better then now. I'm not sure I really get it, either. I'll buy UK made items if the UK made items are the best (or at least good), but if a UK manufacturer can't turn out products to the level of an Indonesian company, I'll buy Indonesian... or whatever, really. There are also plenty of products I'd run a mile from if I knew they were made in the UK. We have our strengths but we also have things that others, frankly, can do much better.

I know and understand that alot of things have gone from beefy materials with good construction to: flimsy material and subpar stitching after switching to "made in china". I used to get some Marlboro clothes before, but today they are pathetic.
But!
I just started wearing my Okayama standards (after a run with the loomis).
I have worn them for 2 days now. Chainstitch seam in the backpocket have now come loose.
USA made. I love it. Please let me pay more for this.

Anyone have a large classic fit work shirt? If so how was the length and sleeves compared to the fit guide?

Ok.. since I got shun from Gustin and it's community. Anyone talk about the delivery date of Wabisabi work shirt on the community page? It supposes to deliver this month but I have yet to seen any update.

I'm right with you jeffrx. I love my indigo indigo. Had no idea what I was getting into either. I thought it was plain and i had some second thoughts after i backed it but it turned out to be my favorite gustin product thus far. I did have to resew some loose buttons but I didn't lose any, so no big deal. It's crazy how everyone was hating on it but very few have ended up in the stock room or on bst.

They did respond and give me a credit for my workshirt yoke, and Ren said he'd pass it along to the production staff, so I hope that they come to a reasonable decision with the rest of you. Not gonna post details cause I don't think that's appropriate, but I'm okay with the resolution.

Regarding the China discussion... They can make their stuff wherever they want, I'm just not going to knowingly support sweatshops so that I can get my fancy jeans. I would greatly prefer that they resolve any QC issues and keep it in the US, though, since that's a major part of their brand, "relatively affordable usa made clothing".

@soaps; well speaking for myself, I kept mine because I'm using it as an actual work shirt/jac. Wearing it today actually, getting it dirty. It actually works perfect for this application. Just roomy enough that I can fit my regular WS plus an undershirt underneath that. Just got done doing a brake job in it. Added bonus, my IxI is now a tax write off along with my Heavy Americans

I put my Hickory Stripe work shirt on BST in both Gustin and here for two months and I did not get much interest. Frankly, I just ordered a Iron Heart Wabash Western shirt from Japan yesterday for about $170 shipped. As soon as I get the shirt and liking the size/fit, I am very likely to put my upcoming Wabisabi on BST. Btw, how does IXI fit on you? I have a very hard time with the fit, even with the 30% shrinkage after the hot wash/dry. It fits me very boxy with both the sleeves and hem being long.

me too @wils, probably will try to sell my WabiSabi. With the price you can get IH shirts for on Rakuten it's a no brainer. I will be sticking with IH and TS from now on.

I will say one thing Gustin did well with on the WS from a fuctional standpoint is the pen holder. A lot of WS will have a somewhat narrow pen holder on the pocket and it's hard to fit a fatter pen in them. Gustins pen holders fit a wider pen quite well.

Might want to check with a competent accountant, clothing that is not specialized and is appropriate for everyday wear is not tax deductible. but work is in the name of the shirt.

You can write off clothing that you use solely for work.

You can write off clothing that you use solely for work. If its unique to the line of work. Fire retardant, monogrammed, steel toe, a spacific uniform mandated (like you must wear brown). All my clothes go under advertising deduction

Wills, the longer I wore it the better it fit. It formed to me like a good boot. It was however at first stiff and tight in the arms and shoulders, but after a few weeks of working in a warehouse I couldn't be happier. I'm already seeing great fades. Its definitely not meant to be worn in an office, infact you'll prolly look more like a janitor than anything. I love my shirt tho. I'm tall and lanky and a bit too wide in the shoulders for iron heart and rogue territory which both make great looking shirts however they are meant for more the j crew, act the part types, to whom I may just be jealous of. I'm gonna be hella bummed if they fix the long workshirt issues cause they work perfect on me.

I am only 5'10" with 38 chest and 31.5 waist. After the wash, the top block is fine but the waist is very loose. Happy for you about the fit since it is not a cheap shirt.

I don't know why ...but I would love to see gustin make one of those green flame retardant coats or Workshirts. Anyone here know what I'm talking about?

I'm new to work shirts (and this board, thanks all) and just curious why Gustin doesn't simply use a split yoke? I'm not a fan of solid shirts and have a ton of striped and checked dress shirts that all but one of have a split yoke with the pattern run at 15 to 30 degrees off of horizontal. It looks clean and avoids the wandering stripe syndrome.
I ordered a Flag Plaid Gustin shirt off of the stock store to check sizing for the Wabisabi WS I have on order and both the yoke and the placket are misaligned. At least a split yoke would have avoided one of those. Only rudimentary QC would have fixed the lazy placket, sadly.

I would guess that a split yoke takes a little longer to make, and Gustin has just recently started doing work shirts. I agree that a split would probably alleviate the problems people have with them looking wonky. Thats just my guess.

bentin i'm guessing they never used a split yoke on their oxford cut shirts for both construction complexity and aesthetic purposes. split yokes are often found on dressier shirts, but not as often an oxford. Gustin tries to walk that line between dress and casual and has stuck wholeheartedly to their high scooped oxford shirt design. it's really unfortunate that they have so many alignment problems. the plackets are almost always skewed to the point it seems as if it's by design, and the yokes have been hit or miss. their fabric selection is solid, just wish their construction matched.

Yes, I had a light jacket made from that material that I was required to wear when doing haz ops as an ordnance engineer at rocket integration and launch sites. We used to joke that if things things went badly, they wanted nice, unburnt body parts to pick up thus we were required to wear those jackets. Gallows humor...sorry. I could never figue out if it was blue-green or green-blue.

Got my TS order in today and although the yoke isn't perfect, it's not noticeable and striking like that Gyoke (pronounced joke)
