In honor of this thread and having $200 more in my pocket. I canceled the vintage breeze plaid. I also canceled the cone blueXblacks. I really liked them but I have blackxblack and indigoXindigo and blackxaqua. I don't need more saturated dark denim. I admire this but I'm not starting my 90 day no spend until June 1. I have orders in the pipeline and I think the deliveries will give me enough to hold me over for 90 days. Not cancelling - IndigoxIndigo, Sun & Sea, CF Texas, or one last shirt... You will have a great $200 awaiting you at the end!

Hey, maybe I'll get some LD deliveries during that time.

matt - I'm just not trying to spend I'm trying to downsize. It got a bit rediculous. Especially thrifting items. I have so many suits, ties, sweaters and sportcoats. Etc. Gonna be selling a bunch of those too.

I look at your collection and think I need to catch up Actually, 90 days off would do me some good. Been on a slight splurge of late. The khaki selvedge twill has me thinking hard (technically, it's not another pair of jeans).

Is it bad that I may be in on about $350 in G just prior to the 90 day no spend?

She just opts to enable me so I her collection doesn't look as bad.

Me: 300?! This is madness! Matt's girlfriend: Madness? THIS IS SPARTA! *kicks me down a random well*

Honey sees my jackets/footwear/denim and says "how about another purse?". And vise-versa. Keeping each other happy, we have a house that is beginning to look like the Harry Potter set, or the makings of "Hoarders: 2018". I've vowed to step it down, and I absolutely have to remove one item now for every new item. I won't grow my collection, but I will "rotate". That is more the key for me (us) than just a ban on buying - which makes no sense and is like a diet that you'll never stick to. If you haven't adopted that rule, try it. It really does work, and we send lots of good stuff to charities that need it like "Disabled Vets". Everybody wins! Or so I think...

I think I need to help some disabled vets with their fashion. I am one to rotate as well. I just scaled back by selling off 4 pairs of jeans and a jacket, but I already have 2 more jeans in queue and 2-3 shirts. So you have to buy the purse in exchange for your investments? Can you try to enlist her in the 90 day no spend? I may try that idea with my gf. I think she may laugh at me when I suggest it...so I will have to dare her and offer incentives.

THIS IS SPARTA! *kicks me down a random well with Christian Louboutin* You forgot the above^ She has collected them. Some are actually rare and worth quite a bit. Thankfully, I've only contributed to 2 pairs in 2.5 years. However, I had to offer up a segment of my garage for shoe storage.

I'm kinda set for life after I bought her a $15k AGA oven. I asked about a new motorcycle last week and I got the "OK". ONLY hesitation - and this is where the hypocrisy of being a parent comes in. I double-thunked it and I know that my son (22) is on the edge of wanting a bike. I REALLY don't want him to ride. I've been a rider since 1972. I love two-wheeled fun. But it's so goddamn dangerous these days with everyone texting, etc that I just want him to enjoy his '66 T-Bird and be safe(r). If I get a new bike, he's going to get the jones again and while it's my fault - used to take him to school on the bike - I don't want him riding now. In the end, my "kids" don't want me riding either. We've got a bunch of grown up friends that ride and almost every one has been hit in the last five years - one just recently. I hate giving up the bikes, but maybe it's the smart thing to do...

Funny thing is, she almost never buys stuff - I do - for her. I'm pretty gay when it comes to this sh*t so she loves the purses, etc I buy. So does my youngest daughter. What can I say...if I stop buying, it pretty much stops for all!

i'd participate but by doing so I'd be admitting that I already have a spending problem, which I don't. I can go months without buying stuff simply because I don't have the extra income to do so. The last purchase I made was the Gustin BxB trucker which was a month ago. I don't foresee buying anything anytime soon

I think it must be built into some of us with evolution to keep us alive. Plenty of things we did when we were younger we for sure shouldn't have. The kids don't need to know.

THIS IS SPARTA! *kicks me down a random well* I learned not to give potentially bad news around gaping holes in the ground. Also regarding the motorcycle thing. Man I hate people on there phones while driving it's horrible. I can't understand how Rhode Island isn't a hands free state. We make ridiculous laws about everything but no legislators have the balls to put through a law that actually should be on he books. One hand on phone = one hand on steering wheel = no other hand to operate a turn signal or shifter. Plus divided attention.

No no, one hand on radio, one hand stuffing Dunkie's sammich into maw, knee on steering wheel, phone jammed between head and shoulder, eyes god knows where.

I would love to join this, but like my fellow Aussie mate Julian I can't even kid myself that I'd make 90 days! Like many others here I have more than enough clothes, but for me it's one of life's biggest pleasures to get beautiful new clothes. How do I get off this bandwagon? Edit: The rotation idea from Old26 is a good one.

Buying new sh*t isn't the problem. It's keeping it all. Rotate brahs. It works for crops too.

Compulsive consumerism...another of life's trials. I don't get it (?) - particularly w/ denim/workwear. My prob is getting the new stuff and 'making it mine'/wearing it in/giving it character. Don't dig NEW stuff & the way it looks/feels. My current battle is trying to age my IHSH-62 indigo wabash...looks so theatrical/costumey new but will be exceptional when it's faded & aged...so I'm wearing the sh*t out of it. Different strokes...
