These three nightmares are back for a mere $148. It's crime against the craft to use the word 'batik' and associate it with this random daubing. I find these shirts oddly fascinating. Not really liking the price, but I've seen worse nightmares (summer popovers or the striped chore monstrosity). What don't you particularly like about it? I start with the idea of batik, which can be an art, so comparing this to traditional designs, let alone simpler ones of animals this guy down the street from me does for kids t shirts, these look like someone was just given a brush with the instruction of "daub". I just get an overall sense of tacky or like those sweaters that wealthy middle aged guys used to buy that were horribly ugly. To me this is the same sort of thing and screams "yeah, I paid too much for this ugly thing, and even if you don't know what it is you can probably tell that I paid a LOT for it". Something like that.

Something like that. That makes sense. For a dotted shirt, some of them don't look that bad. But no, it's not $148 good. Even with 20% off.

In other news, the short sleeve Jack in indigo star is going to resurface in the shop online soon. Just received my shipping notice on this from a month ago when I was able to grab on that turned up online (turns out it was during the implementation of this new online store and it was an error). Got me some insight from Ms Hayley Chill, 20% off and an eventual shirt.

Yeah, I'm not sure where TS model is going with so many of these shirts being near $150. It actually forced me to go look at RATIO's site again and make a note to get ahold of my tailor contact for a fitting consultation. MTO looks better and better at these prices.

I wore my white short sleeve jack flower print on Friday for the first time and was really wishing it did not have a button down collar. Great fabric on that shirt though.

I will say that the short sleeve shirts thus far (I'm 1 for 1 with the navy floral Jack) have been on point. I've opted for the 38 in my Mechanics shirts and did the same for the navy floral Jack. As long as I take it to the dry cleaner for a press, and cold wash/hang dry here, I shouldn't see much change to the fit. Spot on for me. Excited for this new one to arrive to see if they are consistent.
And I would agree on the MTO considerations. I have only purchased 1 thing from TS sans 20% code. At this point, I need to create another email address to buy anything else.

Yeah I was just getting into TS as the price started creeping up. You have to get in on the preorder to keep the price at or under $100, and while they're still doing nice work they've exceeding the price I'm willing to pay for their goods. At this point, ratio and proper cloth are the same price but I get to specify details. I'm not really buying clothes right now, though, so it makes it easy to buy nothing.

I've got a half dozen TS shirts, and really like them all, and were all had for under $100 bucks, and got one of the Highland twills a couple years ago on Last Call for something like $40 bucks with a discount I had. They seem to go in spurts, where like now, I haven't seen anything I like for some time. They seem to pick it up during the Fall/Winter, and can put out a string of winners. Lets hope so.

I guess TS is dead to me. Chinos made in Spain now and Jacks made in Portugal. All with increased prices from when both were MiUSA. And the Hydes just suck, who wants a French placket?

My last purchase was the Cone ISC utility. Nothing has spoken to me since. Although, I'd love to grab a charcoal California Everyday Chambray..... if only it were actually made in California.

THe Hydes suck, the Chinos have non standard waist sizing, and the prices are crazy these days. I like the Jacks and some of the workshirts, but won't be buying them at $150.

Those new jacks are total dadwear. But not in a good way. Just peep the braided leather belt and stonewashed Levis the "model" is wearing. Yeeeesh.

I like the grey and navy box. They just don't do themselves any favors with the models they use to show them. They keep missing in that department.

If it were made here, I'd use another email address, but it's not worth the trouble. I guess I need to tweak my Ratio sizing to just match a TS42 and start buying more from them. I need to check their Instagram to see what their two pocket looks like.
I wonder if TS has Costureiro Ponto (TS in Portuguese) set aside as their alternate website?

Nothing throwing some money their way wouldn't help. I've debated just forwarding them Gustin's more interesting fabrics and seeing if they can procure them and not turn them into a sad Escher.

Just a note on Ratio customer service. I ordered a green madras shirt and the pocket was slightly misaligned. Nothing terrible, but once you saw it, you couldn't really not notice it, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I asked if I could get the pocket repositioned and they took care of it no problem. These continue to be my favorite shirts, followed by Gustin (as long as its a solid or a small pattern), followed by TS.

If their storefront is still open in Denver maybe I should stop by to get measured wearing my monster twill and ask them when they're gonna get some of it.

Olive drab hbone camp pant is a nice new drop, and returning rover/field jackets are great change up from the recent. Maybe the velour tracksuit was to lull us all into a false sense of security.
