Alright, clearly TS is in a slump with new drops. Like baseball and other sports, what's it going to take for TS to have a "slump buster"? A 22 oz. canvas camp pant? An indigo-dyed mechanic's shirt with buttons that are chip-proof? But they'll probably drop a linen floral shirt and some more long wings. I am unsure it is really slump, or we have too many similar clothes in the closet. Btw, what I realize lately that heavier is definitely not equal to better... especially the most physical part of my job is to take my laptop from my office to the meeting rooms. I was pandering to the masses on the thread. I am with you on heavier not equaling better (as debated on the thread previously). I'm with you...just trying to get more Macbook fades at the office, and avoid significant bleed on my laptop/messenger bag.

Sounds like you need to try a few more looks, ickes. If workwear is all you got, that's pretty limited. Hitting a nice restaurant or date night in a flannel would get me some serious stink eye from the lady. Mercerized pants aren't gonna cut it in respectable corners of the world either. I know you can stay pretty casual most of the time, but unless you're running Bernie's campaign, blue collar all of the time gets a little old.

Think grandfather cool. Not aging bro dude. Shawl cardigans are the perfect replacement in fall or spring or summer for a jacket or a hoodie. When I'm sailing, out on the water for drinks (while wearing boat shoes and nanny red's of course) great to give your girl while walking the beach at sunset. Ok....I get it now....someone from StyleForum has hijacked brentkuz's account and is posting as him. If this is really brentkuz....I don't know if you're being serious or silly when you're speak of sailing with drinks in red pants and boat shoes. This is not grandfather cool. Grandfather cool is repro wear/work wear/WWII inspired clothing...the things I like to wear. This is uber-preppy-douchebag. It's funny you mention the part about giving it to your girl while walking on the beach at sunset because when I look at these on TS website I have a hard time telling if these are made for men or women. Cannot agree with you on this one..... Work wear is more a fashion trend thing and it has been going on in Japan since the late 80's to early 90's. It is just more accessible now to general public now.

Yeah TS is in a slump.
My slumpbuster would be casual shirts with a pocket and non button down collars.

Just because a piece (In this case a Cardigan) can and may be a fashion staples and guys like James Bond and Steve McQueen can wear it Doesnt mean we should.

I have a cardigan like this, and wear it like this (minus striped pants): And I have a cardigan like Daniel Craig's (but in deep forest green wool), and wear it like him: Not douchy or preppy. But the sloppy, unrefined look of the TS cardigans is what I think makes them look horrible.

I would be happy if they'd restock their (non cargo, thank god) shorts as I wouldn't mind picking up a pair or two.

Perhaps you need to branch out of your repro comfort zone, because not everything is about super heavy/"work" wear. Grandfather cool is more than that. It is exactly stuff like a comfy ass wool cardigan. My two gramps fought in WWII and Korea. But they both came home and put that shit away and put on cardigans. And they were cool as hell. Style is a broad spectrum. I think you know that. You can look like a badass in something other than flannels and jeans and denim. I also think you're better than to start lobbing "u liek girl stuff" type veiled insults.

I don't like the TS sweater because I don't like sweaters in general.
I own exactly one 1/4 zip merino sweater, and I usually wear it 1x per year.
Probably a strange thing for someone who lives in Chicagoish to say, but I really don't care for them. I much prefer a long sleeve T under a shirt for warmth than a sweater over one.

I am aware of all of this, you know that I know that, and again I have never said that everything is about super heavy work wear. Just because I post about IH/workwear gear on here does not mean that it's all that I wear. I'm simply voicing my opnion. The last time I checked this is a forum where we can all do that and where many of us do. Maybe the preppy douchebag comment was too harsh and I'm not intending to offend anyone but I can't help it if someone takes offense to my opinion. I also never threw an insult to anyone saying they like girl stuff. I honestly looked at the pics on the TS website and I had to take a few looks to find if these were for men or women. Although the fact that the next item to them on the page is a womans item probably didn't help. People say the Gustin shirts are feminine in their cut, that doesn't mean they are insulting someone and telling them they like girl stuff.

I live in Cleveland and I cant stand sweaters. Oh great, I can wear them to the office and sweat my ass off. I prefer flannels and good coats and long sleeve shirts. But yeah, I have been thinking about a cardigan for years but I'll probably never buy one. I was seriously tempted to buy this for lounging around the house.

I don't like cardigans. I'm kinda conservative in my style tho, plus I have a young boyish face.
I don't know why you are defending or explaining yourself ickes 'cause your opinion seems solid to me.

The cardigan looks turrible and not sure how sf folks would wear it when it's starting to heat up in the area.
Not my style but hoping they introduce something cool for may/June weather.

Not sure why I'm having to explain or defend myself either cassaruby but apparently it ruffles feathers if you don't like a cardigan so I'm just replying to posts. It's well documented that there's people here who don't like Buffalo Checks or a particular brand but I don't go telling them that they need to expand their style.
