So i got the 44 today and it feels as big as the 46. 20" shoulders. Its not soaked yet tho so hopefylly will shrink like a mofo. However, the runoffs were SNIPPED off on this one..wft? Im not sure how I feel. I mean they dont really fit on the shirt imho and makes a long shirt look even longer. But since they are there on my 46...what happened? It didnt stop in customs so maybe they took them as payment? Did you guys get the runoffs on your shirts? Hi all, longtime lurker here. Did you get you get your 7001 from 2nd? Because they're out of 44s now, so I was just wondering if you went somewhere else to get the 44...

After hotsoak and dry it seems to fit pretty ok. Its still a little big in the shoulders even tho Im kinda broad shouldered, but Im thinking the little extra it will snug up after a real machine wash will put it pretty much spot on.
But the length is like a skirt. It hangs way past the end of my groin! I will have to try and shorten it myself, i think I can do a pretty good job if I take it slow, the stitching isnt very straight as it is anyways so. And its unwearable in public right now. Stay tuned!

Stay tuned! I scald-soaked mine twice, and then I took mine to a local tailor and had the arms made tighter and the length shortened. Now it's perfect. But as it was, it was goofy long and had a goofy wide arms with a tight torso.

Yeah the arms is a little wide, but thats totally easy to taper. The length is a little trickier, how did yours turn out at the joint?

Thanks. You kept the same amount of "swing" just higher up so to speak? Im thinking ill just cut a paper in the same pattern and slide it up and make a line there, just adding the length of a doubble fold and its phe-fect!

It is very close to perfect, if it was just shorter the arms would work as is for me. The general fit is very flattering. Its like its made for tucking and since its not that thick it would work. I just really want to wear it untucked. bugula

So I cut it today but had to wait with the rest, gotta take it slow. Sent myself a cutting email to let me know my item has just about 36 stations left before finished!

Looks good dude. Im gonna try and keep the exakt same curve. Well see how it goes. Yours is probably more convenient, but since I have no experience Im just copy/pastying whats there and transfer it 3" up so i dont eff it up. I can see your is longer then what mine will become.

I can see your is longer then what mine will become. make sure you leave enough fabric to recreate the hem (roll it over about .25"/~65mm twice). If you're having trouble tracing it, put some weights on it to keep the fabric flat. Also, don't be afraid of the iron, it'll make your job a hell of a lot easier. Finally, if you're sewing it by hand, I recommend the thickest normal sewing thread doubled over (unless you've gotten ahold of some real "jeans" thread -- they don't really sell it in the shops near me) which will give you the thicker thread aesthetic commonplace on most of the stuff we like round these parts. Edit: if you didn't need any of this, I apologize, and good luck.

All good, I usually iron the fold twice bc yeah its alot better and yes I added the foldx2 before cutting. I also got jeans thread, I usually hem my Gustins myself so Im beginning to have a little collection of colors now. I didn't find the exakt same color this time tho so I`m a little pissed off, but it might blend good after wash. Biggest problem here is that the side seam is like....folded inside itself so a million times worse then just hemming jeans but there is nothing I cant do!!!

I also don't envy you putting the gussets back in, unless you've decided to kill em. I've never taken one apart but they look like a series of origami folds.

This was f!@king hard. But as I said, it was sortof a trainwreck original so dint have much to loose: Mine (and notice my bartacks): Basically the only thing im not happy with is the transition, but all else is ok. My Singer couldnt do a real bartach here...but its understandable sinse its like 4 layers folded twice (8!) Im happy anyways: Looks a little short maybe in the pic but im holding up my arm, its perfect to me: So once again im holding up my arm, but it lands right under the straight seem on the backpockets on the Gustins:

The bartacks are great. I don't think it's too short at all. I even prefer a little shorter. You might have to go in business.
