this 7007 western shirt was made for VMC Zurich 25th anniversary in Sept 2011. I wear it in a size 40 as this denims shrinks quite a bit after some washings. Love the stitchings. I believe the difference between this VMC edition and the small production run is the stitching holding the pockets (double row on the ordinary vs. one on this).

Yeah, I have loved that 7007 since I first saw it. It's a total shame they didn't make more of those. That stitching is rad.

Guys I found this video on YouTube where a guy reviews his 3005 and 3009 flat heads (same denim just different cuts). This video was interesting because it made me want the 3009 Flat Heads even more but at the same time it made me not want them. He pointed out one thing that is making me balk a little bit now...Flat Head apparently uses 100% cotton stitching as opposed to poly/cotton stitching. 100% cotton stitching deteriorates fast. In less than a year of wear he points out that he is already loosing stitching and he even had to resew the bottom of one of his back pockets because a good amount of stitching came undone/deteriorated. The poster actually likes this...but I'm not sure I would so much.
It sucks because the fabric is just effin gorgeous and the poster portrays this well in the video....beautiful fabric...but that stitching though. Thoughts?

Yeah, cotton stitching scares me off too. That and the stucco texture have kept me from buying the Strike Gold mud wefts.

ickes - i'm pretty sure Selfedge has a flathead pair - I don't remember the cut - that uses the poly/cotton stitching

Yeah I saw that guy post about that on some board but can't remember which on. I have read that some people have had a problem with that. A lot of people haven't had that problem. If you think about it, all the classic denim for many many years always used (obviously) all cotton thread and their stitching held up and didn't fall apart like mad. I think it just depends on how and when and during what activities you wear your denim.

yep construction threads in good-old-cotton, this is one of the reasons together with the unsanforised fabric why you wash or soak them (often to bed the fabric and threads in, but I am mostly an authentic guy, do not care if threads break then just bring em to repair. I actually never had problems with any of my jeans for over 8 years now but then its again me and my preferences how I wear my jeans in my daily life. I want a good reliable jeans which I can wear everyday and enjoy. the jeans are awesome imho like any other jeans for example from IH which use poly or other brands too of course. if you wanna destroy the jeans you can of course do it in many ways (also those with polystitching btw), if you just wear and wash your jeans, it evolves and ages with you and your personal lifestyle. some repairs might be part of the game. imho .

Well the thing that surprised me is that the poster of the YouTube video stated that he is actually a frequent washer and doesn't like the idea of wearing them as long as possible between washes. I don't know, if I'm spending that kind of money on jeans I expect the stitching to hold I guess. I don't want my jeans falling apart on me. I'm ok with getting holes here and there to a certain degree, but the idea of the stitches just completely coming undone puts me off a bit.
I'll probably eventually get over it and just cop a pair anyways...lol.

What did you end up with for a chest measurement I thought they shrunk a good amount but griffin's 46 didn't shrink at all.

No it did shrink alot, it was just very much bigger then 46 from start, it was huuge. This led me to believe that these 7001`s are sized to the size they will become after shrink? They probably slightly oversize them aswell as to not come in small, like IronHeart does, and the bigger they are the bigger the xtra will be.
Now we need to hear what the 44 is post shrink.
Also where do you measure? I always measure right at the pits but thought about that yeaterday since this one kinda swings a little outwards right at the pits.

I didn't compare yet maybe the 7001 and 7002w are are a different fit chart. Looking at the 7002 I would have to be a 46. I would like a 22-22.5" chest post soak.

I'll measure tonight, but I know that it is 22" post soak. But my measures will be skewed because I put a cookie sheet in my shirt sideways when I soaked it that is 11" wide. So my whole thing will be thrown off by that. But the cookie sheet was being gripped tightly by the shirt after it got done soaking, so it would have kept shrinking.

That cookie sheet is seeing action like never before But this puzzles me. We both got the shirt from 2nd so its the same shirt (raw). My label-46 came out more then 46" and your label-44 you say would have shrunk past 44" ? So the actual wearable sizes they have (post shrink) is: Biggest: 23,8" p2p Second biggest: 21-something" p2p Then we know the label 42 is actually 22" p2p pre-shrink. ?_?

So i got the 44 today and it feels as big as the 46. 20" shoulders. Its not soaked yet tho so hopefylly will shrink like a mofo.
However, the runoffs were SNIPPED off on this one..wft? Im not sure how I feel. I mean they dont really fit on the shirt imho and makes a long shirt look even longer. But since they are there on my 46...what happened? It didnt stop in customs so maybe they took them as payment?
Did you guys get the runoffs on your shirts?

Sometimes the runoffs might break off especially when touched a lot or after several washes maybe. Usually they are quite stubborn though. On all my Shirts i have not one breaked. Your Shirt will shrink for sure especially when washed with spin, i suggest you go with a soak and take it from there.
