And received my Sand Work Chambray Jack today. The size 42 is spot on, a little loose and long in the arm, but I expect it'll shrink somewhat after a wash.

variable - interesting. I just exchanged emails with their CS on this - for me the 42 is a size too big vs my others. I'm under the impression these ran a bit big. I know the length of the shirt is for sure too long. Debating returning vs trying to shrink. All the smaller size is sold out, so I'm at a loss on the shirt which is kinda a bummer. I like it a lot.

I tend to like my shirts a little on the roomy side, so it's a win-win for me. The fabric is certainly a lot thicker than I thought it was going to be.

also got my sand chambray the other day. i love the color/fabric. my 38 fits very similar to my other TS 38s, other than the length. it's at least an inch longer...which is a bit disappointing...but not so much that i'd consider returning it. i'm hoping for a bit of shrink in the length after a wash.

Can any of you give me a sense of how their shirts fit? I looked at their sizing chart but i'm afraid to pull the trigger. For reference, i'm 5'11, 180 lbs and have a 40-41" chest. If any of you have a similar build as me could you tell me which size works best for you? If you're familiar with Gustin button-downs as a yardstick, the TS shirts are, generally speaking, a little more generous in the shoulder width and arm openings and quite a bit trimmer through the midsection. I have four TS shirts, and the fit varies a bit between them - so check the fit guide every time. I have a Glacier Chambray (collab with Fair Ends), a Railroad Stripe Utility Shirt, a brushed flannel Hyde Shirt, and an Everyday Chambray that just arrived yesterday. All of them have different fit guide specs. The RR Stripe and the Hyde came in right around the fit guide or slightly smaller and then shrank a fair bit in sleeve and body length after a cold wash and hang dry. Chest and other circumferential measurements were largely unchanged. The Glacier came in very close to the fit guide, except for body length which was significantly longer than expected (a plus for me because I'm tall), and it has not shrunk much at all after washing. I haven't measured or washed the Everyday yet, but I ordered it based on the working assumption that I should err on the side of "sizing up" in the straight TS shirts (i.e., not collaborations), and it fits brilliantly out of the box with a little bit of leeway for post-wash shrink. I am hesitant to give you much more in the way of generalized fit advice without knowing a bit more about your measurements, how you like your shirts to fit, and which TS shirt(s) you're interested in. For example, I have long arms so I'm more sensitive to sleeve length than most guys. I'll usually accept a little looser fit in my chest area so I can get sleeves that are the right length for me and, depending on the shirt, enough body length to stay tucked in. The advice I'd give myself if I was looking at a TS dress shirt or oxford would be very different than the advice I'd give someone with a less lanky build who was looking at one of their flannels or heavy twill shirts. Thanks for this. I really want one of those waxed wayfairing jackets but I'm 6'4" like the model wearing the jacket and he still needs 2" + on that sleeve length so it fits. I think T/S needs some tall sizes.

Good thing about the Workshop items is you can still order them even if it shows 100% funded - I think TS just makes as many as ordered. This is good (or bad) for me since I still want to pick up the Espresso Telegraph trouser. TS has been offering excellent fabrics across the board lately. Man, was that Telegraph jacket ever an emotional roller coaster for me. I've been searching far and wide for a nice medium to lightweight, deconstructed brown blazer like that for months. Seeing one pop up on TS was pure joy. And then seeing that they didn't offer it in a Long and it's about 3-4 inches too short for me to consider...*sad trombone*. I'm still moping about it. Yep, I just emailed them the same thing. They need tall sizes. I do NOT enjoy wearing anything long sleeve that is too short for my arms.

I will be able to figure my TS fit without having to guess and check through TS directly. not sure how you'll accomplish this as the TS stuff (and other Target Collective merch) is online only. I think Target's attempt at trying to emulate J.Crew is kinda lame personally. This will be a boon for TS but Target shoppers are like Walmart shoppers in that they expect cheap prices, hence their slogan, 'Expect More, Pay Less.' I'm sure some customers will buy a $98 shirt from TS via Target but I don't know how this will help Target's flailing image such as it is. Target sold stuff online this past Fall for Faribault Woolen Mills and now their stuff is absent from their site. The fundamental issue I have with Target curating these 'US made' brands is that to me US made denotes jobs in America (the same line that Lawless uses), but Target has recently laid off 1,700 workers and gave their ex-CEO a $61 million payout for doing a shitty job. I know that the Target Collective is purely a marketing/sales gimmick but I'm just not cool with the way they choose to run their business. They even refuse to raise wages for their workers. It's sad when Walmart chooses to raise wages and Target doesn't, and Walmart is one of the worst offenders when it comes to how it treats its workers. Anyway, didn't mean to turn this into a rant. I hope this business move helps prop companies like TS up and allow them to reach more customers.

Will Target sell the Portuguese TS stuff? Seems like they should stick to only the stuff made in CA if they're plugging the US aspect of it. I certainly favor the U.S. made stuff, even though my inlaws are Portuguese.
I'm not feeling this new Workshop shirt. A little too African Safari Filson Moleskin.

The Portuguese made stuff is very nice. TS has stated they use that sew shop for their heavier offerings, as they are better equipped for the job. Sadly, I don't buy any Filson shirts anymore, as most are imported from China, but thats just me. I see way more value in the TS, as its heavier than the Filson moleskin, and less than half the price.

FWIW - Filson imports much less than they had under previous ownership.
We've been seeing a lot more Portuguese stuff recently. I have some and it is made well but I wonder if they are Portuguese owned and operated places.
Does any one here know?
I ask because the Chinese have been very successful in using the cache of "made in Italy" by opening factories that finish product there.

You might be correct on that. Its great to see Filson taking their QC seriously. I know in the past, I would read reviews on their site, and many would complain about sizing, materials, and overall QC taking a hit, when they would outsource a previously made in the US product. Being a Filson wearer for most of my life, I used to e-mail them to complain about outsourcing, and would suggest they bring production back to Seattle. My main gripe was when they would move production to help their bottom line, they would not lower prices to the consumer. They still have one of the best warranties, and return policys out there.

I like all of my TS gear, but the made in Portugal items have generally been better quality with fewer stray\loose stitches

What color are you guys diggin on the new brushed spanish twill shirts? I kind of want to try the Khaki but I know that Olive always looks good on me. I've never owned a Khaki colored shirt as I've always been afraid it's too fleshy looking and might not look well on me, but I like the looks of it.

I think the pockets break up that "fleshy" look. I still like the olive better. But its good to have a simple Khaki shirt.

I'm going to go with the khaki, as I have the Highland in green Japanese twill. Khaki shirts like this one will go with everything, except a light khaki pant, and will go exceptionally well with indigo.

I'm leaning towards the Olive, but I also don't have any shirts in that color yet. Khaki shirts look funny on me due to my generally pasty skin tone. Of course, I also tend to always play it safe, which leads to the abundance of grey/blue/black clothing in my closet.
