The 25oz gives a 13.5" thigh where the 19/21 give only 12.5" looks like me hand is forced to the 25oz. A hot soak will hopefully shrink the lower leg a bit.

How much will a hem typically shrink? The hem on a lot of the IH models (including the 666) is a bit big for me. I typically wear a 34 waist and prefer a hem somewhere between 7.75" and 8.25".

Measuring my samurai 710xx in the thigh they come in at 13" measuring iron hearts way. I'm going to measure some jeans tonight to see if 12.5" is too small. Currently looking like 25oz 666'a is my fit. Very likely it is. If you like the 710xx in 19 oz, you will almost certainly like the 666 in 25 oz. Similar fits but I think you'll find it another leap in quality between the two. (It was Samurai that lead me to discover IH.) The leap in quality is in favor of IH? How so? I don't own any Samurai, only IH but have been thinking of getting a 21oz Samurai.

You can expect the same shrinkage as the waist, pro-rata. So, if the 34" waist is expected to shrink 1" after soak/wash, then a 16.5" hem (ie, 8.25" across) should see shrinkage of just over 1/4" to 1/2" The big difference is that the hem has little to no resistance when worn and so won't stretch back out like a waist will tend to. Cuffing also has the effect of very slightly tapering the hem, so you can lose a little width there as well if need be. EDIT: only just noticed your older post re. the sizing you ordered... yeah, if you take a 34 Gustin I'd have thought 33 in the 666 was the way to go.

julian, I was debating the 33 or 34. Went with the 34 since the thigh seems small on the 666S-21. IHUK lists the thigh on a 34 as 11.9" and a 33 as 11.5". I'm thinking that would make the 33 too tight in the thigh. Seems most of the response to these on the IHUK forum is about the small thigh measurement. Should know in a day or two when they arrive.

Picked up that IHSH-07 today. Crisp, stiff, and in mint condition with tags. Really love this shirt. Fit is perfect. Also love the orange stitching: This is easily one of my favorite shirts and I picked it up for less than half retail. Today was a good day for my closet.

Very nice indeed and a great fit. How did you get such a bargain? Found a guy on the IH forums who bought a large and medium. He needed to sell the Medium and was thinking $175 shipped. We happened to live in the same town so he said he would give it to me for $150. I told him I could get one on Rakuten for about $135 shipped (true) but I'd rather buy locally. He was happy to take a small hit to help me out and get rid of his too small shirt.

I've fully convinced that I will allocate about $350-$500 per month to IH, for this year... Lots of shirts, jackets, and some ducks and black denim. Crazy Japanese..... Who ever heard of heirloom clothing?!?!

After reading this whole thread I want a pair. Found the 19oz lefties at Rodeo Bros that look great but they need a re-stock. I know it has been asked but does anyone know how often that happens?

After measuring my Gustin zimbs the thigh comes in at 12.5" just like the 666-21.
Still going back and forth between the 21 vs 25oz 666 in size 36. The 21oz seems to be more trim fitting by a decent amount vs the 25 a little bigger. The 25oz should shrink more than the 21oz according to IHUK.
Decisions.
And I really want the n1 deck jacket. I am not paying $750 if it goes on sale I'm all over it.

If you are on the fence, I'd go with the 25 because it is really extraordinary denim.

I have seen 60-70yr old Levi's still in absolutely wearable condition. Have no question that a pair of 25oz jeans that were not intentionally beat to hell could easily last 2 generations.

It is the lowest Yen vs. Dollar exchange rate that I've seen in 5 years of watching prices. I still can't get over a price of $266 for 666-XHS. If I recall correctly, these were $495 at IHUK not so long ago but that's not entirely a fair comparison...
