That's right - I remember you saying that. I'll check and make sure. Thanks Ickes yeah it makes a difference. Believe me, Im not trying to discourage you from buying these at all, quite the opposite actually. Its just that this last batch sewed up really small in the thighs and its prevented several people on the IH forums from buying them, myself included Ickes - you just saved me getting the wrong pair. I measured a pair that fit based on the IH way of measuring and I need 25 inches in the thighs so the 666s's won't work.......thank you!

It's strange to see no consensus in the garment industry on how to measure a pair of pants or anything else for that matter. A lot of the market is moving from brick and mortar stores to online retail and it might make sense to have consistent and uniform measuring standards.
G measures thighs 2" down from the crotch seam but if IH has a higher front and rear rise and you wear them at the same point on your waist, it might alter the thigh measurements a bit.

So my "build your own custom jean" project IH 634SR just went out to Railcar for tapering. The IH jean I wanted didn't exist in nature so I decided to make it myself. I wanted unsanforized, a cut somewhere between the 666 and the 555 and I didn't want to pay US retail either. The 634SR showed up from Rodeo Bros last week and I did a hot soak in the tub for 1 hour with agitation to get all the shrink accounted for. Last night I reviewed the 666 and 555 specs, measured and overlayed my favorite jeans with the 634 and nailed down my specs. I'm after something along the lines of a slim straight with a hem that is large enough to look good with boots but not the rather giant opening the pair comes with as sewn by IH. I also want the fit looser than most of my other denim as it's a really substantial fabric. A little room is a good thing. Should have them back within two weeks. I'll post up fit pics. This project is the ONLY thing keeping me from sizing down one size on a pair of 666's from Rakuten..... Great project. I too have the 634 SR and wished it were a bit more tapered from the knee down. The top block and thigh are right on. The leg is not so wide that i'm willing to have it altered. Thought about it however. Tempted. I'm somewhat hopeful that the leg will tighten up a bit with a few more soaks over time. Maybe it's just wishful thinking. I'm really curious how yours turns out and the cost of having it done. BRAHS, I'M TELLING YOU, THE SIX THIRTY THREE S FIT IS WHAT YOU NEED. SelfEdge only sells it but it sounds exactly like the fit you're looking for; www.selfedge.com/jeans?product_id=1278

I need the 777 fit but can't find them with rodeo bros The 777 is designed by and made for IH UK exclusively. It is not available in Japan. Edit: the basic models made by IH JP (e.g 634, 666, 461, etc) are available at many Japanese retailers. Any models made specifically for IH UK (e.g. 777, 555, 301, etc.) have distribution limited to IH UK retailers. If you need the 777, reach out to IH UK or Selfedge US.

Using the IHUK method for measuring, my 34 Slim Gustins ring in at around 31cm... maybe 32. The IHs are supposed to be 30 according to both rakuten and IHUK. We'll see how it goes (fingers crossed). My Gustins are not tight in the thigh but I wouldn't want them to be a whole lot smaller. The x factor is the rise and how that might affect the wearability of the smaller thigh for me. I don't have any jeans with a rise as high as the IHs to compare.

Those are kick ass jeans make no mistake, I just wanted some unsanforized IH. I've seen pics of the 634RS numerous times and the way they fade is just perfect IMO. The 634R and the 633 are great jeans....but I had to pull the trigger on the RS to get the fabric I was after. It's a sickness at this point. I realize that.

I need a IHxPBJ collaboration... Wishful thinking, I know. But, 25oz low tension, slubby, MAGNIFICENTLY DYED jeans with damn near laser precise construction..... I'd spend $800 on that grail

Rakuten you ass looking at 634,666 or boot cut.

These samurai jeans ruined Gustin for me.

After busting out the tape measure pretty sure the 12.5" thigh will be too tight for the 19/21 666 cut. My samurai measure to a 13" thigh using IHUK measuring method. Looks like size 36 25oz it is....

Does anyone have the 527 riding jacket in indigo? Shoulder to chest is kinda weird. Tight chest but big shoulders by measurements. Lookkng for a bike jacket.

I received 634SR this morning. It came with a beautiful hand written note from Rodeo Bros. I bought it on Wednesday and it was shipped the same day.
The fabric is super heavy and super stiff and yet soft to touch on the inside. The construction is top notch and the specs are spot on. The fit is a little roomy but that's what I wanted from 23oz denim. Being unsanforized, I'm going to warm soak them and they should tighten up a bit and then begins the process of breaking them in. I just found out that IH use extra long staple cotton from USA.
The handwritten note also mentioned that 2015 batch of the jeans is expected soon.

Measuring my samurai 710xx in the thigh they come in at 13" measuring iron hearts way. I'm going to measure some jeans tonight to see if 12.5" is too small. Currently looking like 25oz 666'a is my fit.

Currently looking like 25oz 666'a is my fit. Very likely it is. If you like the 710xx in 19 oz, you will almost certainly like the 666 in 25 oz. Similar fits but I think you'll find it another leap in quality between the two. (It was Samurai that lead me to discover IH.)
