yinzer whipcord is what they make their N1s with but they add an extra layer of windproof on the N1s. It's on the warmer side of things so I'll probably reserve them for cooler weather

I have winter under control with the 25 oz any day now once that is finally restocked.

If there's a sizing discrepancy between the Japanese and UK site, I assume we go with the UK measurements? I've been told they're more accurate, the Japan ones always seem smaller. Looking at the IHSH13 in particular. Always go by UK measurements. The 13's are great shirts. IH staples IMO, both the black and blue.

If there's a sizing discrepancy between the Japanese and UK site, I assume we go with the UK measurements? I've been told they're more accurate, the Japan ones always seem smaller. Looking at the IHSH13 in particular. There are 2 possible explanations for the measurement differences:
1) I could be wrong, but I always assume that IHJP and IHUK use different measuring methods. Doesn't seem probably that the Japan crew is more laxed in ANYTHING they do.
2) Even if they used the exact same measuring technique, the numbers will ALWAYS be slightly different, due to slight variations in each individual garment. Giles has explained that what they do at IHUK is measure a few and take an average. That "average" is what they post as the measurements for each size.

Update:
Explanation #1 has been debunked by Giles himself. They use the same measuring methods, because IHUK was instructed on how to measure by the IHJP crew. He's unsure why there are typically discrepancies though.
When I lived in Japan, I just used IHUK's charts, and it always worked.

Honestly, I never even TRIED to use the IHJP size charts... Aside from not wanting to have to convert cm ---> inches, I didn't want to bother asking the wife to translate the kanji for all the different measurements. IHUK's sizing charts have never let me down.

Giles Kanreki (60th Bday) shirt Giles turns 60 in September so they are making a shirt to release that day. Red is the color associated with the Kanreki 8oz Flannel, Half Western (like the IHSH-13) In that case, happy (early) 60th birthday giles....

Picked up this indigo 92 via the IH forum. Would've nabbed the sexual chocolate version but someone beat me to it. Really dig this shirt. At 11oz this thing feels like i'm wearing cardboard but it's a solid fit all around.

Nice score gaseousclay and I hear you on the cardboard stiffness of the hairline fabric--dense and sturdy as a mfer. Shots in the wild, when you can

Unfortunately, it's in the 80's and humid so it won't get worn for a few more months

any of you own the IHV-22 N1 deck vest? @untucked, I think you have one right? Just curious how you guys sized on yours. I measured one of the vests in my closet and compared the fit to IH's fit guide and by all accounts I should stick with my usual size of large. I'm just curious if the alpaca lining makes the vest tighter, especially when wearing it over a UHF. the vest I wear most of the time in the winter has a p2p of 22.5" and I can wear my UHF comfortably underneath, but it has a fleece lining so isn't as thick. the IHV-22 has a 23" p2p which looks about right

So, I originally got a medium from the run almost 2 years ago... As a standalone outer piece, it was FAR too big. I don't recall the measurements, I just know it was too damn big. About 4-5 months ago, I traded it for a small and the fit is great. Still a bit roomy, but a far better fit as a standalone piece. I imagine the medium would have been fine if worn over a leather jacket, but that's not my look/image for how I wanted to wear it.
Small with a paracord drawstring added to the waist, and now I'm happy.

I suppose I could ask this via the IH forum but do you know if the current N1 has a slimmer fit than the run you bought yours from?

I also have the black cordura and 526 vests in the same sizes and they all fit great. So for me at least, my vest size seems to line up with my UHF size.

About to order my first IH, but yet to decide fit.
Looking for something along the lines of 3sixteen SL/Rogue Territoty Stanton.
What fit would you recommend?
Also, size 31 in 3sixteen fits me perfect sizewise what size IH should i order.

I believe the answer lies in taking a measuring tape, to a pair of your favorite/best fitting jeans, and compare them to the measurements on the Iron Heart website, for a particular jean you are interested it. IH is excellent as far as size charts go, as they publish the stats for each and every model they produce, instead of a generic chart like some do.

I hear what u say, but really u cant give me at hint?
Orderd numerous jeans over the years from different size charts and the accuracy not always on par. Figured since this is a forum for discussion you could give me your thoughts in this matter.
Of cours I have looked at the IH size charts and the 634, 666, or maybe IHXB01 all could work. But not in position to order them all so..
Differences in sizing between 3sixteen and IH or should i order same size?
/Boris

What the guys said. Trust our charts and measure like we do. Anything else will be like comparing apples with oranges.

Yeah, you LITERALLY need to take your "ideal fitting" pair of jeans that you own, and measure them "The Iron Heart Way" (They have videos on the forum showing exactly what to do). Once you get those numbers, you will need to compare them to the size charts for each individual pair of pants that you are considering, NOT simply "the 666 cut", "the 634 cut", "the 777 cut", etc... Each pant model, due to slight variations in sewing, and variations in denim weight, density, etc is slightly different... They even update the size charts when they get a new batch/run of an existing jeans model.
Nobody is "treating you like the new guy", or being short with you... You just LITERALLY have to do a bit of leg work to get it right. But, I promise the 30mins-1hr you put in to properly researching will pay dividends

I have to laugh about spending an hour measuring your jeans. If you have enough pairs to spend that long measuring shit, just by pure chance, some of them will fit any way you want.

C'mon Bentin, lol! Takes a couple minutes to measure a pair of jeans Bro... 30mins to 1hr to take those numbers and compare them to 20 different size charts

C'mon Bentin, lol! Takes a couple minutes to measure a pair of jeans Bro... 30mins to 1hr to take those numbers and compare them to 20 different size charts I've measured all of my jeans. But I've washed nearly all of them and certainly worn all of them since then, so those previous measurements are now meaningless. Oh, the horror! I think the short answer here is that RgT Stantons fall between the 633 and 634 cut, but generally closer to 633. If I were hypothetically coveting a set of the 14oz OD, they'd be the 633s.
