Let us know what you like and don't like. Either here or PM one of the mods. It is a team effort and you are all part of it.

I think there should be a "Projects" section under "Garb" for things like Steve's persimmon dyed naturals so that info doesn't end up getting buried in the Gustin section.

This. but I'd actually like to see either one Projects board to include both clothing and non-clothing projects, or one in garb and one in general.

maybe there is already, but I'm not finding it.... a way to jump to the first unread post in a thread you have previously read?

maybe there is already, but I'm not finding it.... a way to jump to the first unread post in a thread you have previously read? When viewing the thread list within a board you can click on the Last Post column for that thread to navigate directly to the last post. In addition, clicking on the "new" icon next to an updated thread will take you to the first unread post.

I guess it depends on if we want to keep the projects separated by brand or have it as a separate topic. In this case, it's really not brand specific, it just happened that the pair dyed was G. Perhaps a DIY section--I don't necessarily care what topic it is under, it's just that there's a lot of creative, project-oriented people here and it would be nice to have an area dedicated to showcasing and finding that stuff.

Hello brahs!...I'm a member of an audio forum (audiokarma) and they have a rule there that we may or may not want to implement as we grow. They don't allow political or religion discussions..only because it can cause flameage and turn friends into enemies, and that's no good. They actually created another forum for such discussions. We may even find people who will join here just to promote their ebay auctions. They allow posts with links to ebay auctions as long as you say something like "this is not my auction" the moderators here may want to check out the site just to get an idea of some good rules, as well as some other ideas for this forum, as they are well established having been around since 2002 here's the link if anyones interested audiokarma Totally off topic...If your into vintage audio gear...It's a great place for info...as well as a great bunch of guys and gals... no attitudes...highly reccomend feel free to delete this post if im out of line here

They don't allow political or religion discussions..only because it can cause flameage and turn friends into enemies, and that's no good. I agree with this 1000%. In my experience, the 4 things that I have personally witnessed turn quaint, tight-knit, online forums into bloodbaths are: 1. Politics 2. Religion 3. Firearms discussions 4. Helmet law discussions It's inevitable that threads will occasionally take a tangential course, but these items (and any other controversial topics) should not be allowed here. Frankly, I all but quit FB because of the constant barrage of posts about topics 1, 2 and 3 above.

We like that you guys are asking to have rules. We will get up some rules soon. We didn't want to start out too heavy handed and scare everyone. Yes many forums avoid the topics you guys listed. It is great when members help self moderate the place also.

What's the safe word to use when someone is straying into dangerous conversation? Seems to be Mr Randall.

BTW, can you please set up a thread for me called: "anti-anti-firearm, anarchist, anti-anti-athiests who don't not support helmet laws" ? Thanks!

Does this board have a "general" discussion thread, that people actually use? I looked at the "general" topic, and it's still subdivided into 100 threads. Where do I go to just "talk", ffs?

I just use Recent Posts, and if I remember something look up the appropriate thread (with varying degrees of success)

The "General" area isn't subdivided by well, or at all.

There isn't a thread for just talking about whatever pops in someones head. It hasn't been asked for so far. The General topic is the place to start a thread about a topic you want to talk about. We are open to suggestions but expect members to explore and learn the forum. Then if they can't find what they need make suggestions and we can respond. This would have been the place to ask your question. gustinfriends.proboards.com/board/14/faqs-forum-info-announcements-selvedge
