Is this model discontinued? As far as I can tell it has been yeah. Only found results on Rakuten, so assuming a Japanese only model as well.

Any of you own the 8138 or 8146 moc toe boots? I found these 2 at Nordstrom Rack today in a size 9. They fit but because of my wide feet I'm not sure if going down a half size makes sense or if sticking with a 9E width is the better option. The 9D's felt narrow even though there was ample toe room

We have great news. Selvedge Style forum will be doing an interview with the fourth generation of Red Wing Shoes family.Red Wing Shoes is located in Red Wing Minnesota. We were lucky to have a connection to William Sweasy, his father was the former CEO who just retired. So 3 generations before him ran the company who took over from founder Charles Beckman. The Mods along with highlights will be coming up with some questions. We will get the answers and post them here. We are hoping William will also come on and take questions from the members after that. It sounds like he is up for it. I will also be getting a tour of the Red Wing factory. Here is some history about Red Wing from their website. www.redwingheritage.com/USD/page/our-storyA more detailed history that we found. www.fundinguniverse.com/company-histories/red-wing-shoe-company-inc-history/

Guys I've been thinking... We're rounding up on our 1 year anniversary, and we need to do something... Something BIG to make us legit. Think they would allow us to do a group buy of some sort? Semi-customized, S&S Red Wings

I've been thinking it for a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time... But, with this huge interview and the 1yr anniversary approaching, now seems as good a time as ever to mention it.

And name them after an NHL team that I don't hate. GD Pink Wings and Yzer-Woman...

Selvedge Style X (Insert any brand) would be cool but we are small and no one likes us....
Best bet would be marshdown leather x Selvedge Style or another small brand.
I also would refer to us at "SS" I love chevy super street but SS also has a negative connotation especially with all the WWII clothing talk.

Semi-customized, S&S Red Wings Thanks for bringing this up. It would be cool for some thing like this to happen. I don't know if it would be feasible for a big company like Red Wing though. We do have a few smaller vendors here that would make more sense. The main issue would be having enough of us to agree on the look and design of something. Keeping it to something in a lower price range would include more members. Maybe we will start a thread about this at some point. Crap! I just realized we missed our 1 year anniversary. I was thinking it was in November I will make a post.

@winterland - That's a cool idea - sounds a bit like a massdrop deal. If we have enough interest, we could get something made. Given this all started with denim, what if we asked Giles to do a custom order for us?

I don't want to steal RedWings Thread (mods, you may want to start a thread on this) But how about a Black Watch CPO (you know, just like LD/Freewheelers)? We could try finding some Fabric and a shirt maker?
