Size down by 0.5 with 70's, just as it says on the Converse site/store. I'm an 11.5 on a brannock, an 11.5 in Jack Purcell Signature, and 11 in CT70. I took advantage of the 30% off deal at Converse and bought the All Star 70's in a 9.5. I'm usually a size 10 sneaker in Adidas, Puma and NB and when I was at Nordstrom Rack lastnite I tried on a pair of Jack Purcell Converse size 10 that fit pretty good. But, my Brannock is a 9 so the sizing may still be off. Either way, if it doesn't fit then it's going back.

Talking of Horween leather trainers, just picked these up on sale at End. Crazy bargain: £265 down to £135. They're stunning IRL (but also have that slight aroma of vomit that Horween leather tends to have)

Got my Chuck Taylor 70's today and I really dig them. Initially I was worried about sizing because different sites/reviews said different things, like go down 1 full size or a 1/2 size. I opted to listen to Converse and went down a 1/2 size. I normally wear a 10 sneaker across all brands, so Puma, Adidas, New Balance, etc., and the 9.5 CT70's fit pretty well. There's just enough space to accomodate my bulbous feet and if I wear thicker socks they're nice and snug. Had I gone with a 9 I think they would've been too tight. I'm not expecting these to be any better quality-wise to the regular Chuck Taylor's since they're made in Vietnam, but only time will tell. On a side note, I tried getting my son to try on a pair of Chuck's at the store but he absolutely hated them. I thought it would be cool to do a father/son matchy matchy thing, but that went over like a lead balloon.

I have to put orthotics in mine, though. This happened at some point over the summer.

Would any of you happen to know where i can get black laces for my Chucks? I think I get them at Target and Big 5. Likely just about anywhere... BTW, I'm going to put up a new pair of Varvatos Converse High's in dark purple/black in size 11.5 if anyone is interested. Were supposed to be 12.5 and I didn't bother sending back...

Can't get over how comfortable these Chucks are. The insoles have a nice cushion to them. What do you guys think of the Jack Purcell Converse?

Told ya CT70s were great! For JP's I'd suggest the Signatures. The normal JP isn't known for comfort or quality, so I guess you get what you pay for. Try checking them out at a store in person to compare the two. The standard (and premium) JP got a pretty bad rep the past year or two for glue & stitching flaws, or just falling apart prematurely. Signatures are the JP equal to the 70's. Good sturdy stuff.

Yeah the CT70's are the only Chucks I buy now. Miles beyond the normal Chucks.

you guys have any sizing advice on the Asics Onitsuka Tiger Gel-lyte III's? Some of the reviews i've come across suggested sizing up a half size -- any truth to this?

I've had a lot of them over the years. Sadly, they're hit and miss. I normally wear a 13, but Adidas and Tigers I generally need to size-up one. Not a guarantee, but most of mine are one larger I believe.

you guys have any sizing advice on the Asics Onitsuka Tiger Gel-lyte III's? Some of the reviews i've come across suggested sizing up a half size -- any truth to this? Gel Lyte IIIs are a little weird, sizing wise. I've got several pairs in (US) 9 and (US) 9.5 and they all feel the same to me. They definitely fit on the smaller side and their split tongue design also means you're probably better off going up half a size as it looks terrible if the two parts of the tongue don't meet in the middle properly (which will happen if they're slightly too small for you). Some of the most comfortable trainers you can buy, though. The only pair more comfortable that I own are their Gel Lyte Vs. Nobody seems to really believe quite how comfortable they are until they spend a day or two wearing a pair. Latest pick up from the New Year sales... NB's 'American Lager' edition of the 997. No prizes for guessing which beer these are a tribute to...

any of you have any leads on the New Balance 996's on sale? I checked endclothing and found a pair I liked but when I talked to one of the sales reps via chat she didn't sound so sure about US sizing. Is it pretty much universal that US sizing is 1 size up from UK sizing? So a UK9 would be a US10? Or do they vary from model to model?

With sneaks, it's usually 1 up, and there isn't (in my experience) much variation from that with brands like NB.

Is it pretty much universal that US sizing is 1 size up from UK sizing? So a UK9 would be a US10? Or do they vary from model to model? Just checked all my trainer boxes and all my Made In USA New Balance show US8.5 and UK8. If you click the 'Sizing' tab on each pair on the End site you'll see the same thing shown on the size charts. In all Asia and England made NBs I take a UK8.5 (marked US9) but all of the NB models I have that are Made In America are UK8 as they all run about half a size bigger. So, if you take a US10 in, say, Nike, I would suggest either a UK9.5 or possibly a UK9 if you prefer a snug fit. Picked these up this morning with the EXTRA15 discount code: New Balance M1400CSR - Made in the USA

Latest addition to my NB collection..... Paired with PBJ AI-003 I decided to try my first MiE NB. The 575 is very much like the 996. I particularly liked the colorway of this model, for everyday wear with denim. Very versatile. They are listed as navy, but appear almost black. I'd say, midnight would be a better description. Construction is on par with all of my MiUSA NB. With the price ( $75.70 with shipping from End ), and the expedience in which End delivered them factored in, this is one of the greatest value purchases I've ever made.
