davelewis, how do you wash and do you see much shrinkage? My 18oz pair came to me at 34" inseam, where my 12oz came in at 35". I washed my 12oz pair in hot, and got an inch shrinkage in waist, and inseam. I didn't want to loose an inch with the 18oz, so washed them in cold, and hang dry. Lost 1/2 inch in waist, and inseam. After 3-4 washes, the 18 oz are starting to soften up nicely. They will eventually turn into very soft pants, like a fine aged pair of carhartt doubles.

It's been quite hot to wear my 18, so i've only worn those a few times. A few more wears/working in the garage (and sweating) I'll give them another wash

Man that jacket is bad ass. Sizing is my only issue. Love the navy.

Got my car coat today in 12 oz charcoal. This thing is expertly made. Truly amazing coat and a great value. The sleeves are a bit big, but I'm thinking they'll shrink up an drape better after some wear and a wash.

Thought I'd give an update after a few weeks wear for anyone's who's considering the Car Coat. I have two G Chore Coats, so can make a reasoned comparison. Basically, I really like it. It's smart enough to be worn to a casual office, and scruffy enough to be worn with combats, so is very flexible. The three inner pockets are useful, and tight enough that things don't fall out if running or bending. The outer pockets are deep enough for a big smartphone and the buttoned pocket is good for security. The 18oz canvas is as tough as nails. I squeeze through a hedge shortcut to and from work, and this material just laughs at it. This is a jacket you never need to look after. Wear it like you hate it and it will only look better with age. I'm going to put one of my G coats on eBay as I never wear it, and this Ciano one is now my go-to non-leather jacket. I'd be interested to know how people feel about the 12oz in use, and I'm still hoping that Ciano will offer this in Wabash. Aren't you getting the hint yet, cianofarmer?

I'm really liking my 12oz orche chinos, and have been using them a lot this Summer. My denim jeans are 15oz, on up, and find the lighter duck fabric more user friendly when the heats on. Not sure why, but I like the feel of the duck Ciano uses, over the Carhartt stuff, plus the fit, and custom options make it a no brainer.
I liked my pair so much when I received them, that I immediately put in an order for the Military Green, which should be showing up soon! I also recommend the 18oz duck chinos, or 5 pockets, but they are resting in the closet until it cools off.

Has anyone had success shrinking the sleeves down in width?

I'm avoiding soaking mine as I'm a bit nervous about shrinkage generally. I admit the sleeves are quite wide, but I can live with that. Maybe Ciano will slim them down a little in future, but they might be built for big Texan farmer arms.

I know he's been slowing a little with the weather delay a few months back and with the boom he's been seeing from all of us. Are your military green at about 11-13 weeks in total?

My initial orders were in the 4-6 weeks camp. My last order for the military greens was invoiced on April,22, so am sitting right at 3 months. His backlog has grown substantially, and with the crappy weather they had, they fell a bit behind. I figure they should be shipping here soon.

I'm highly tempted by a Ciano car coat. Not sure if 12 or 18oz would be best. Thing is I have so many fall jackets and I tend to wear the 1972 M65 or my barbour bedale.

Guys, the Ciano jacket is amazing. I have the 12 oz. I wore it today in 70 degree weather and didn't feel overly hot. Also, at that price point it is ridiculously well constructed. Go for it.

I was leaning to the 18oz. Seriously I have too many fall jackets.

I would recommend buying larger to compensate for shrink. Or just never ever ever wash it.

I would recommend buying larger to compensate for shrink. Or just never ever ever wash it. I emailed Ciano to ask him for sizing guidance. I don't think I have ever washed a jacket in my life. I will give this one a wax treatment. Maybe a good idea to give it an initial wash, then wax. Then beat the hell out of it. Oh, and he already responded to me. Love these guys!!!
