Good to see that Ciano has brought back the car coat, now in different colours.
I've ordered the 18oz black canvas, with olive green stitching, and will update here once it arrives.
I have two G chore coats, which are similar, but this one looks much more rugged and has more inside pockets, not to mention it's cheaper.

I would like to know how the fit is compared to the G chore coat. I like my G coat but the arm holes are a little high for my liking and I feel like my movement is a little restricted because of it. Really digging the brown car coat!

I like all the new colors for chinos, and 5-pockets. I'll probably pick up a pair of green, after seing the swatches. I should be getting a pair of the 18oz khaki soon.

Asked Ciano for a fabric swatch to compare two colors on this coat. Got them in the mail today and plan to order tomorrow! Really excited for this coat and even more excited by the great customer service I have received. They've been awesome about every question I've asked every step of the way.

FYI the canvas might shrink 1" in width and 2" in length.

Considering waxing my car coat when I get it. Anyone tried this? Thoughts? Love my Pointer Brand OtterWaxed jacket. Been two years with a lot of work wear on it. Great foul weather jacket. Otterwax has two types of wax, 1- a bar that you rub on and heat (hair dryer or heat gun) or 2- a true fabric dressing, this one you heat the can in a pot of boiling water to melt then brush on. The second one truely saturates the fabric. http://instagram.com/p/ftvy13GdGq

In case you haven't seen it posted else where. This is it two years later. The waxed jackets do patina. So if that's not your thing I'd hold off on waxing it. But they get that way through working them over, so they work great. http://instagram.com/p/z_rCKTGdP_

Let me add. That if I was looking for another chore jacket I'd be getting one of these 18oz ones. Some good stuff coming out from these guys from what I've seen.

Anyone have their car coat yet? I like the look of it but am wondering if 18oz is heavier than I want/need from a coat.

I felt the 18oz duck and could easy see it being a coat. It is a thick fabric and should be decent for warmth even for being unlined. I could see 18oz being a little thick/heavy for warm climates.

I have plenty of winter coats right now. What I don't really have is a lighter coat for spring/autumn. Maybe a trucker is a better style for that then the car coat anyway.

Awesome. I love how flexible ciano is with everything. I hope it doesn't end up being too much of a good thing, but for now it seems like it's working. When you get your coat in benjaminpersitz let us know how it turns out. I probably should just have ciano send me a sample of the 12oz and the 18oz so I can feel the difference.

This thread really makes me want a khaki car coat to wax myself and then beat the hell out of it!
Can't decide between L slim or M regular.

I'd definitely be in for a 12oz, in either olive or moss.
