I think what he's saying is that the thread option is removed from orders going forward, but that they will be honoring the thread requests of orders already placed. Right?

Dirty_Denim Is there a reason why we can't choose a thread color? Was it causing delays at your end? What would be the default choice of thread on all the denim? Yes, The main reason is to get a handle on what the sewers have to go through to get a good pace going. We tried many different things to speed up production. We basically tried for a short period making all jeans with khaki thread and then all with red thread and so on and so on. This meant we were pulling items from orders to make them in batches to avoid constantly changing thread on each jean coming thru. We had/have partial orders complete because of this method which happens to be the correct way to do things and the most productive. This naturally caused people to question why are people getting orders out of place so we stopped and went back to sewing 1 item at a time with no flow or pattern to it. Removing thread was the next choice which we decided was best. TBH I have been pushing for us to eliminate the thread for awhile so you can blame me. The next step is to dial in the thread colors with some great contrast colors and Tonal that will match with colors like our grey denim which doesn't have grey tonal thread available. The other reason we wanted to remove thread options is to eliminate total nightmare makeups which is a very serious thing. This does not mean it won't make its way back very soon but to help with a few things we needed to remove it for now. I know it is "part" of the reason for what is different but there are some great plans for the brand in the near future that will more than make up for thread colors It makes total sense. However, instead of no thread color option, what do you think about having two options: Tonel/Gold (Contrast)? I think from the sewer station standpoint, it probably makes very little difference since you will always have sewer machine already using "gold' thread. To customers, LD still gives them a choice. Just a suggestion. |

I had experience seeing sewers to change thread on sewing machines and it can take quite a bit of time. Personally, I prefer LD to keep the cost and wait time down as much as possible since most of the people are sticking with some basic thread colors for their items. However, I do think it makes sense to have an option on tonel/contrast. |

was there a change in the production status on their site before your item was shipped? Mine reads "awaiting fulfillment" and I'm not sure if that's the status right up to shipping or if there are intermediate stages.

(Old site.) The word is my shirt is done (with Sal having seen it firsthand) but no shipping notice yet as of today... What color thread will be standard?? What about cuff buttons that also has disappeared.
Descriptions and photographs also would be nice more than just one photo and a small blurb.

Thread has been removed temporarily for orders moving forward NOT anything already in.
I am adding thread colors to the store as we speak that will be standard. I am basing what is added on what I know to be great choices. If something looks great with a particular thread i am adding that as the standard thread. Many of what we are adding is baded on what customers showed us looks great. For instance the khaki color looks amazing with indigo tinted with beige/brown.
As for providing maybe 2 options, we are in discussions of doing that but haven't settled on if and when we will do it
Full custom gets to state what you want when checking out, including thread choices. That of course is within reason of what the request is
