Dirty_Denim, thanks for the update and info. two quick questions as I know you're busy. 1. I put in a new site order for my GF for some jeans and I purchased the "custom pattern" option for 75 dollars on top of the cost of the jeans. I've got this order on "hold" pending KS stuff coming in. Regarding the custom pattern I assume this will allow her to vary outside of the size charts, move back pockets around etc - otherwise why bother with a custom pattern right?. Please confirm I'm understanding this correctly and sorry if I missed this detail in your write up. 2. Can you tell us how many KS orders remain in the shop? I gave up trying to get info on mine and didn't see anything about this in your write up. Thanks Sal and hang in there.

Thank you guys. To explain what I mean with not being able to accommodate some requests
We have received measurements like this waist 32.3- this will have 32.5 as a starting point for the ssame reason why most jean co's have a .5 difference that is accepted
Yes we have plenty of this - thigh 2inches down OK thigh 3 inches down thigh 4inches down thigh 5 inches down thigh 6 inches down thigh 7 inches down thigh 8 inches down
We basically can't accommodate measurements that are not part of our already process to make a pattern. The measurements that come in with tenths will not be met because its to difficult to hit after the sewing is done.
There are many more requests that were just added to the notes that where not approved and just noted by customers. We accommodated many of them for the 1st 1000 orders but have decided we cant do it anymore for obvious reasons. If the request is something we ok'd it will be done but if its something outrageous we will not do it.
I really like where we are at right now even though we are behind our initial promise. I am heading back to AZ next week so more good will come from that trip

I am heading back to the shop Weds Jan 28th and staying through Feb 7th. I will get some more done while there but also help because the Super Bowl will have the shop swamped. The local Govt has added the shop in the things to do during the Super Bowl.

Sal - glad to have you in the loop and filling us in. FWIW Sal has told us to communicate all change request via your account on the website. I really, really, really wanted to be an easy customer and not request any changes. But for my wife's jeans on order LD added a stretch denim that wasn't available when I placed the order. She'll be 10,000X happier with stretch, so I submitted a change request for the fabric (all other details the same.)
Sal responded with a message that is logged under my account on the website. So long as the change is made in production (and I am sure it is) I wanted you all to know that the messaging on the website seems to work well.

So long as the change is made in production (and I am sure it is) I wanted you all to know that the messaging on the website seems to work well. They are definitely working. The notes that are in bigcommerce are all being read and accounted for. These notes also slow things down because the order can have certain things chosen but then the notes will say use a different denim for a shirt that was ordered using a jean. That causes everyone in the shop to get together on each order. Each order that has requests that are not part of the typical item options adds time to work that out. We have to match up what is actually in stock to make sure we can cover the request that is not deducting from inventory because its just noted. When u order a fabric it automatically gets deducted from inventory we set for that fabric but a note does not. This can be an absolute nightmare if we took a denim that we have set for specific customers and gave it to someone that noted it as a request. This is a huge potential problem and a lot more time and effort to work out. One order the other day literally took us an entire half day to figure out (true story) That one order got us thinking and brought on all the changes which will help down the road. All of that doesn't mean requests are not going to be met but cause us to pull those orders out of production to be looked at with more attention than normal. The factory moves fairly well when we dial in the orders but slows down when the order is exceptionally different. If the request is not possible because we do not have the fabric, the cust will be notified and the same thing goes for any other order questions that need explaining Simple stuff will be handled like always and go into production immediately

HAA. Actually the local Govt is pretty interested and amazed at how much we have accomplished. They are stopping in regularly because of how we are pushing for more workers and support from them.
As for Super Bowl customers stopping in you have nothing to worry about since I have a certain dislike for New England and MA for that matter. I am a NY Yankee fan and a NY Jets fan so its deep lol. I would likely have the Patriots fans walking out in Denim onesies lol

Now I feel bad for making that request I genuinely appreciate you guys doing what you can to make the change. Knowing all that, you guys would be completely legitimate in making a policy that once an order is submitted that the fabric can't be changed. Put in in your FAQ along with that explanation. I would.

I can't remember the last time I was less excited about a Superbowl. I have zero love for either team, I literally can't pick one over the other because I'd be pulling for the enemy. One took my team out of the 'bowl last year and the other is just flat out my least favorite organization in the NFL. No offense just football shit talk, guys. Dirty_Denim, thanks for the PM response, followed up with you per your directions.

matt, it's funny, when I was a kid, a million years ago in Phoenix, I was a Pats fan. In the 70's and 80's, NFL was exotic in Phoenix and I figured any team with a QB that I shared a first name with was cool (Steve Grogan). Things have changed for me now, but good luck in the Super Bowl, man.

The New England Patriots are model franchise. But as fans we are well accustom to the hate from the rest of the world. If the patriots win i will buy something from Lawless as soon as the game is over. So there you go another reason to want the patriots to win.

I can't believe I have came this long without buying anything. If Barney's had the E4's in my size I would have caved. Buying the alden Indy boots after Christmas is holding me up.

I'm closing in on 12 weeks for my initial order of 1 shirt. It's still "awaiting fulfillment."
On a related note, the disappearance of customization options (thread color, etc) for shirts and pants doesn't apply retroactively to the orders which preceded that change, right? So the Montana Lined shirt and my original shirt will come in as ordered?
What happened to the lined pocket shirt, btw? I haven't seen mention of the disappearance on here.
I'm getting impatient. I fully support these guys and what they are doing, just not how they are doing it. This is a CF.

Dirty_Denim Is there a reason why we can't choose a thread color? Was it causing delays at your end? What would be the default choice of thread on all the denim?

Its disheartening seeing others receive their stuff, from orders placed weeks after mine, especially since I had no modifications done. The last time I called them to check, they couldn't even tell me where my order is, other than you'll be getting it soon. LOL

Not allowing customization of thread color and such will be a big negative. One of the things that all the people I have introduced to LD were excited about was the customization options.

But I am going against my football routine attire, which does happen to involve a pair of Gustin's. It's only crazy if it doesn't work.

I'm supposed to be a man of science but football superstition is real. (from a guy who skipped letting his 10 year old daughter paint his toenails Denver colors this season. Look what happened.)

Dirty_Denim Is there a reason why we can't choose a thread color? Was it causing delays at your end? What would be the default choice of thread on all the denim? Yes, The main reason is to get a handle on what the sewers have to go through to get a good pace going. We tried many different things to speed up production. We basically tried for a short period making all jeans with khaki thread and then all with red thread and so on and so on. This meant we were pulling items from orders to make them in batches to avoid constantly changing thread on each jean coming thru. We had/have partial orders complete because of this method which happens to be the correct way to do things and the most productive. This naturally caused people to question why are people getting orders out of place so we stopped and went back to sewing 1 item at a time with no flow or pattern to it. Removing thread was the next choice which we decided was best. TBH I have been pushing for us to eliminate the thread for awhile so you can blame me. The next step is to dial in the thread colors with some great contrast colors and Tonal that will match with colors like our grey denim which doesn't have grey tonal thread available. The other reason we wanted to remove thread options is to eliminate total nightmare makeups which is a very serious thing. This does not mean it won't make its way back very soon but to help with a few things we needed to remove it for now. I know it is "part" of the reason for what is different but there are some great plans for the brand in the near future that will more than make up for thread colors

So how do we know what thread we will get?
