Hi guys, about time I set up an acct here. Like, many of you, I stumbled upon Gustin over a year ago and ordered my first pair of raw denim (and many more since then, Gustin as well as other brands). I enjoyed following the forum there (only posted a handful of times), and have been keeping up with things here. Look forward to more...

Hi, just joining up the forum. I was a lurker on the Gustin "community" site but I guess it's been shut down. Have a pair of Cone Crosshatch, also a pair of Rogue Territory selvedge. Cheers.

whiskeychief; Welcome! Glad to have you here on the forum. Feel free to be less of a lurker and more of a poster over here...and that goes for all of the G lurkers BTW, how do you like the Cone Crosshatch? I remember that fabric as I believe I found it appealing and wanted to back it but didn't for some reason.

Welcome to this forum. Btw, Gustin community is shut down? No way for me to know since I was kicked out a while back.... No, it's still there. Slowly dwindling on the vine, but it's there. Are you sure? I can't see the "community" link whether I'm logged-in or not, and none of the deep links I have into the forum (e.g., bookmarked link to a post I made) work, either. I wasn't banned for any conduct that I know of. Are there some users who can still see the postings/forums at this time?

BTW, how do you like the Cone Crosshatch? I remember that fabric as I believe I found it appealing and wanted to back it but didn't for some reason. I like it well enough. I made the mistake of washing it after six months and got a lot of shrinkage in length/inseam -- none in width really. Had to re-soak them and rig up a stretching apparatus: woodworking clamps on the ankles and weights did the trick pretty well, and I recovered most of the length I lost. Lost a little bit of color and of course, the texture changed/soften quite a bit. I know, I know, I shouldn't have washed them. They are good pants. I liked the hand of the fabric better before washing. Had to wait well past the shipment window for them, but I gather this is a known issue (maybe solved now). The pattern/weave of the fabric on the Cone Crosshatch looks almost identical to a J.Crew shirt that I own (Selvedge indigo denim shirt #62202), although the J.Crew says its denim origin is Japan.

community page(s) still active for me as well, but appears death by attrition may be near.

Just popped in to this thread for the first time since posting an intro and read through the entire thread. I've got to say, this is a great group of people and the diversity is quite amazing. This is one of the first non motorcycle related forums I've been on that I feel like grabbing a few beers, or 20 beers, with the crew that populates this place.
Good stuff.
Carry on folks. Carry on....

Hello, Greetings from Canada. My search for a comfortable, quality, well-made pants started 2 months ago and I ended up buying a pair each from Kuhl, Duluth Trading and Filson. After a while, I just stumbled on Gustin and ended up reading all about twills, selvedge and shuttle looms. I've ordered 3 pairs of jeans from them. Zim 18, Okayama and BlackXRed, the classic belt and Japan Khaki Workshirt. I haven't received any yet and I am hoping all works out well. In the meanwhile, to satisfy my selvedge bug, I got the 21oz unbranded. I'm not a big fan of the low rise and, the break-in process, is not pleasant to say the least but I like the fabric and left hand twill. I haven't ordered anything from Lawless yet, but given your high regard for them, I just might. Although, the expensive international shipping is a bit of a deterrent. And, I'm still struggling with trying to wrap my head around not washing the raw denim for several months I've been lurking around and reading up random threads on the forum for the last few days, just thought I'd sign up and say hello. It seems there are quite a few knowledgable and passionate people here. I'm hoping to participate and learn. Cheers!

Hi Marauder welcome aboard! lol...about washing your jeans, just do it when/how you want to. The not washing them for months is to achieve max fades.

Greetings from Northern Va. Thanks for setting this up - what a great way to discuss denim. I would post occasionally on the G-board, but it was hard for me not to not stray to other brands during the conversations. I have more Gustin stuff than I care to admit to, and even more Lawless on the way. Been a bit tough on the wallet, but it's great to be able to support USA-made clothing!
