Hello all, my name is Jacob and, as seems to be the norm, I've lurked here (and on the G forum when I could access it) for some time before posting anything. I started getting into the denim thing earlier this year when I gave a lecture on the history of denim culture. I'm a sociologist and I study taste and aesthetics (my current work is on craft beer culture). I've known about Japanese denim since the early aughts, but the prices have always been restrictive. In preparing for the recent lecture, I discovered Gustin and now I'm in the throws of a denim addiction. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and to thank you all for the advice I've picked up from this forum. Have you published any of your work on craft beer culture? If so, I'd be keen to read it.

I've been trying to get some of our Seniors to think about doing research for their mandatory Senior theses on the denim subculture, so I'd be interested to here how you went about researching the craft beer culture.

The paper I'm currently working on is based on qualitative interview data with craft beer drinkers, but the larger project involves field observations and some industry level quantitative data. I haven't published any of this work yet, but I'm thinking of submitting the first paper for an edited volume towards the start of next year. Seems like I've come across a number of academic pieces on Japanese denim, so I think it would make a great area of study. We've got some really interesting things going on in the denim world.

Hey all, name's Eric. I got into denim back in 2007 while I was searching for bike parts for the w650 I had back then. Ironheart came up in my searches and I've been hooked ever since. I'm on a beer budget with champagne tastes, or so the saying goes... hence my foray into Gustin. Had some barely used ironhearts at one time but were too big, put a hole in them in a bike wreck (story from 2011 is still up on the Rogue Territory blog since the shirt of his saved my skin) then sold them. I've been chasing the dragon ever since, hoping to find that perfect pair for a price that wont end up in divorce. I've bought and sold too many pairs to think about and still haven't found "the one." I'm close though. Oh and I also have a workshirt addiction I need help and this looks like the wrong place.

Y'all are just a bunch of enablers Speaking of enabling, if you haven't gotten around to it yet, give lawlessdenim.com a shot, there are several forum threads about them, and they're in the last day or so of a very generous 50% off sale. Use coupon code "1 year" if you find anything you're interested in. Semi-custom, so if you don't like one of the numbers in the fit guide, let 'em know. Delivery looks l=to be something like 6-8 weeks right now, I'd venture to guess you'd see your order about the same time as those Greenlines you just backed.

Oh I've been getting cart reminders from them the last two days since I create several orders a day over there since the new site went live but never pulled the trigger. I was going to back some denim chinos in I x I but then it sold out. Then a CPO in I x I chambray and it was out. Then the moto vest won't show in the ordering system... Gave up and backed the green lines

Hey everyone, Ryan here. I migrated over from the Gustin boards. I just put in my first order with Lawless (who I regret not backing on KS) to test out sizing then it's off to the races if this pricing continues. I'm ready for an updated wardrobe.

Guys, I didn't see this. I'm John. But I hope you already know me as the erstwhile JBC or even for a short stint the Priest of G. I hope all's well. Stoked that this forum is running... I was saddened that the G was one dying. More to come.

Hello. I came here while researching lawless. I think I'll stick around. Seem like a good bunch who know a lot more about raw jeans than me.
