Are you looking at the 711vx or a different fit? I bought them one wash from Blue In Green, waist stretched about 1-1.5 ish on the waist. Thighs didn't stretch too much, or to the point it was really noticeable. These are the 17oz "Zero" denim. Looking at the 15oz 511. Wish BiG still stocked Sammy, but good to know there's stretch potential. Would rather err on a tighter fit. Thanks.

That I couldn't comment on as far as stretch. Good luck, post pictures as that's a pair I haven't seen much of.

Just had a pair of S003JP Yamato 15oz arrive, need to get round to soaking them but first impressives are certainly positive.

Just measured them pre-soak and the thigh (2" down from the crotch) measures *exactly* 11" across.
They're a tagged 33W.

Yeah, that's what i was afraid of, in my size, I'd need about no shrink in the thighs and I haven't found a good way to achieve that, or a reliable way to get thighs to stretch back out. Awesome jeans though. I think I'll try the same denim, just in the S05011 cut.

After soaking the thigh measures 10.8" across - so there was some shrinkage but not much. That said, I always wear my unsanforized pairs in a hot bath for an hour for their first soak, mainly to avoid excess shrinkage. Unlike all my other pairs, I physically felt the S003JP's shrinking around me. It was quite odd. The denim feels a lot heavier post-soak and also looks darker (despite shedding a load of indigo in the tub).
They were very stiff once they'd dried but I've since been wearing them the last day and a half and they've turned out pretty much perfect. The fabric's loosened up a lot already and the fit is great.

Great looking colors. How in the world could you order without knowing the sizing. I honestly don't think I've ever seen a MIJ shirt that would fit me other than IH, or BR.

Found the measurements from vater and sons in Germany

Okayama has pre soak sizing on them, won't work for me.

Isn't the 511 a tapered cut? Been wearing my 711VX 17oz again. Great pair and cool details. Finally bought the 711VX 21oz, just waiting for them to come in from Japan. I wanted that pair a year ago but never got them. When I realized their a special edition, and saw my size still available I couldn't help myself. Next I will likely try the S5000 fit. I'm surprised Samurai would do a weft like that, I always took them to be more traditional.

The 511 works great for me in the 15oz, but all the other weights are quite a bit looser. Could be that they expect more shrinkage, but I'm not taking that risk.

BIG doesn't stock them anymore, and the samurai size charts are nothing to pay attention to. 2nd won't measure pairs, even if asked through email. Pirates may offer measurements though. Understand your worry on that.

Yeah, I trust Okayama Denim more than Denimio, but both will send cm measurements and will also track down specific measurements if you ask. OD is pretty friendly.

Samurai is a cool brand with a lot of details to geek over. I got the thunder soap coming in as well. No fluorescent elements in it like woolite. But if I'm being honest, I kind of liked the box which sold it for me.

But if I'm being honest, I kind of liked the box which sold it for me. Dude, I just read this and was instantly intrigued by Thunder Soap. Based on the list of ingredients, they are just cleverly marketing a shredded bar of soap. I do not want to rain on your parade or pee in your cereal n'at (see what I did there? Yinzer...lol they say "n'at" a lot, I went to Deer Lakes High School and spent some time living amongst your people) because it does not appear to be a bad deal for the amount you get...but I would just like to recommend to you brahs to make your own jawns soap if this is what you want. I recently wanted soap for my beard and had trouble finding it locally, so I decided to make my own soap. I actually planned on buying a still and distilling my own essential oils, but they would not ship the still here. Either way, soap is just oil/fat mixed with a solution of lye and water. If it is just to wash clothes, coconut oil would be a good oil to use for its cleaning powers. As with making anything, time is money and by the time you do all of the stuff, it could be cheaper to buy it, but the process learning something new while making something yourself is what I like about it. If interested, here is a link to make soap using a crock pot. If not interested, that is OK too. www.mommypotamus.com/how-to-make-pure-coconut-oil-soap-for-cleansing-and-laundry/also, coconut oil soap doesn't have the allure of being made in japan with the byproduct of soy sauce production or Raijin imagery, but whatever. I actually had some caked on coconut soap in my crock pot from my last batch I made before christmas. I just scraped it out today and put it in a container to use for sick fades soap. I never thought of using this homemade soap. I am somewhat stoked about all of this. Oh yeah, don't use coconut oil soap on your beard if your skin is like mine. It dried my skin and caused all kinds of problems. I use it as shampoo for my head hair and it works great and one lady in the office uses it to wash her face and asked for more bars, so maybe it is just my ugly face that it doesn't work on. Whatever.

As crazy as I'll probably ever go soap wise would be grating Felsnaptha and using that, I use the bar for stains and it works awesome and smells great. Appreciate the insight though.
