Seems like many reports of them stretching back after the soak. If you think you can get them buttoned, I would say go for it. Especially if the price is right. Keep in mind that all of the dimensions shrink as well. So for example if you usually wear a straight and the pair for sale is a slim, wouldn't be a good idea to try a slim with these. Or if you usual straight size is rather snug but these are a size smaller, might be too snug overall. What is your usual Gustin size and what size is the pair being offered? My regular G size is 29 slim. These were originally 30 slim, and shrunk to size 28'' waist. 29.00'' is pretty dang tight on me. But if I can stretch these out, that means I have a pair of Loomies for $95 I'm usually a 30 Slim and went with a 31 Slim for my loomies. They were difficult to button after they were soaked, but have since stretched out some. They're noticeably tighter than 30 Slim, but aren't so tight they look like leggings. The rise is the lowest of all my G's because I don't think this dimension was compensated for when the patterns were set. It seems the only dimension they increased to compensate for shrinkage was the length. Just gotta be patient with the stretch and you should be fine. They're not (probably ever) going to fit like 29 slims, though.. I don't expect my soaked 31 Slims to stretch out to feel anything like my 30 Slims. I should show you guys a picture of them now, by the way. The weft has clearly taken on the Kakishibu coloring after a few weeks in the unrelenting Singapore sun.

ickes, why did you wear them in the tub? What's that accomplishing other then cold shriveled up balls? do they end up fitting better? I'm just about ready to wash my Okayama Standards for the first time. How much wool lite dark do you put in there? To prevent the waist from shrinking too small. I fill the Woolite cap up to about the zero line

They can and will shrink up to 2-3 sizes. Shrink to Fit. Wearing them in the tub will make sure that they don't shrink to much. Your/our Okayama's won't shrink much at all (they're Sanforized, or Prewashed before they are cut and sown) You may get a bit of shrink if you use hot water and dryer. Make sure you hand wash in the tub (or you'll get wierd streaking fades).

Prior to this week I had only sparingly worn my loomies around the house. But this week I have worn them to work every day. Wow they are just amazing. I don't ever want to wear another pair of jeans.

Okayamas, Black 2s, Loomstates...easily some of Gustins best denims.

I bought a barely worn pair of v1.0 loomies in early September, and, with the exception of about 1 day a week when I wear something else, I've been wearing them every day since i received them. Love them very much--love that crinkly, washboard texture. I have more unsoaked/unworn loomies in my closet for future use.

They are just now starting to show good solid wear, and they are still pleasantly bumpy. The fuzziness is gone from most above-the-knee areas, but they are still fuzzy below the knee. My plan is to soak them in the spring . . . these probably won't be a good gauge of fading for the group, because as I've mentioned before, I did a warm machine wash when I got them because, you know, other dude's junk and all . . .

I've got a question on the Loomstate sizing. If you order a 34 straight will the tag size indicate the same even though they see up larger?

(edited because I didn't make sense) What is your normal G size? 33 slim. At the advice of ickes I decided to go with a 34 straight for the Zimbabwe Loomies. My plan is to do a warm soak in the tub while wearing them for about an hour. My thought is they will shrink to fit on the waist and won't get too tight on the cuff.

I'm wavering on my size selection for the zoomies
I typically wear 34 slim, what size would you guys go with? 36slim or 37 slim?
the zoomies supposedly sew up one size small.
I figure if I get a 36 slim, and they sew up small, a cold soak may shrink them too much, especially if they come in small. 37 slim may be too big if the sew up normally (37.5" waist)

This is a (sort of) random question. The Zimbabwe Loomstates state that the fabric is 16oz pre-soak. Does the weight change after they've been soaked? Does it get heavier or lighter?

Heavier since the fabric will tighten up a bit. Weight is per yard (linear or square, depending on source and fabric type), so with the shrinkage you'll have a similar weight in oz in a smaller overall area.

Has anyone put some hard time into their loomies? Any great pics out there? I've worn my sparingly but they seem like they would be quick faders. I bet 6 months of everyday wear would result in some awesome jeans.

But I was out in the sun the other day , very nice wear starting. Also noticed that they seem to have a beige look on weft. could have been just the sun ( Glad no one saw me mesmerized by my jeans

Or chicken legs?
