So, I know a few people are saying they don't think that this is IH. After wearing for 30 mins post-soak, I'm still pretty convinced that it *is* IH. Or, again, a really convincing knock-off. The "crispiness" will be gone in a few hours to few days, and these have similar drape, hand feel, and weft color. FWIW. And I own XHS, UHR, and flagship. After a day in these, post-soak, my only gripe is that the lower leg is waaaaay to wide. Don't know if I can handle these. And I'm not sure I can find someone to tailor the legs either. So disappointed. The jeans are super nice - well made and a great denim (still doesn't feel like 21) but the cut sucks. Manny or Ciano would do it for sure.

Might hit them up. But I'd rather see them making stuff for other guys...unless they have separate folks doing such alterations?

I compared them to my HA and mine are virtually identical (36 straights) I'd bet rail car would taper these. OZ numbers are so arbitrary.

About the straights, with my first pair I noticed that they feel wider than they look. I thought they seemed super wide too until I looked in a full length mirror, and they look great. But, I'm not into the femme skinny-pants look, so YMMV

I believe Manny is still looking for more customers and seems to be exceeding expectations for the people ordering from him. Couldn't hurt to give him a shout. You ordered the straight, right?

G really really needs a cut between slim and straight. I buy slims, but would like a little more room in the calves.

If I was told definitively that this was IH fabric I wouldn't be surprised. You're right about that initial crispness breaking in under a week. I've had 12 ounce jeans stiffer and harder to break than these. They're definitely stiffer than my IH overdyes I'm comparing to but those are noticeably softer than the flagship material due to the OD process. No doubt these will be downright comfortable in a month.

Your'e right though - looking at the whole shebang in a mirror shows that they look fine. Still I have no ass, but I think that these have potential as I can cuff and I think they're going to rock with these boots. Happy again...

G Straights are really baggy in the lower leg. I've put on 15 pounds since my kid was born, and they're still really a sloppy fit. Slims would be great if they had more rear rise or if I were shorter. I'd imagine the slim is unworkable for Chewbacca sized Old26. My moc toe Red Wings appear too narrow with my Straight Oki's. My clown toe Wolverines look much better. I'd think those roofers will also look too narrow with the wide cuff of G Straights.

Yup, I've contemplated the slim but I knew that the lower rise would suck on me. So, I'm happy. Still don't feel like 21 to me - I know, broken record. But they are a few steps above the Beasts in every way sans the weight.
As for the boots - most of mine are 13 or 14, and they never look small/narrow - even with G denims.

The first pair of G's I ordered were straights and I was horrified at how floppy they were--I'm a slim fella for sure, but damn, I was swimming.
I like the way the Slims fit me but when I look at my profile in a full length mirror, I'm not always thrilled with what I see: Cue the ZZ Top, lotta legs.
BTW, after a soak, HOLY SHIT the 21's got stiff.

Yes, a touch more rear rise so the belt does not need to be so tight and slightly wider from the knee down. I sent my only ordered pair of straights right back. I was horrified at the amount of crotch sag and the boot'ish bottoms. I guess it would allow me to smuggle things in my crotch......

But they soften up right quick - it's that initial wear that has you saying in your head "WTF!"

Swore they would snap like a piece of cardboard when I bent them! That's what I thought with my IH UHR after soaking and drying by the heater. I literally thought they would break! Then I realized denim can't break

You guys should consider getting a CF custom pattern. $68 one time fee.

You guys should consider getting a CF custom pattern. $68 one time fee. Between the 618 other brands making denim, it really shouldn't be that hard to find a good fit. RgT SK's and Oni 517 just happen to work fine for me. Hoping the CF 901 works too.

Looks borderline baggy unless you wear boots or a chukka, which I do most of the time I'm out. My Straight HAs are my everyday "dad" jeans that I wear around the house. I have my regular slim 17s if I decide to wear any other type of shoes. Still waiting for my tailor to hem them(good old standard hemming. Couldn't care less about chainstitch since I don't cuff or care about roping). How freakishly tall are you to be able to wear them without hemming?

On me, CF 901 is right between G straight and G slim.

On me, CF 901 is right between G straight and G slim. Is the front rise actually as low as the size chart indicates? Or, what did it measure, if you don't mind checking.

So I got my J21s (35 straight) yesterday. The leg was almost 36" exactly, but the waist looked like it was a 34 (I think my measurement was 16 and change across the waistband), even though it still felt a little loose. It went right into hot water and then the dryer (because I'm a madman), and I don't think the waist or thigh measurements changed at all, but the leg shrank up to 34-ish. The cuff came in around 8.5", which seems way under spec, but works. Overall, I really like the jeans, but I can't make heads or tails of how this sewed up.
