variable - you sure you didn't order the special tear-away (off) cpo? Just kidding. That sucks. I'm sure they'll send you a new snap that's hopefully easy to fix. No, I did order their secret "Magic Mike" tearaway jeans, but got 1%'ed on them. (I say, I say, that's a joke, son)

Stock store grabs showed up: Navy and Graphite chinos. Nothing special about those, so no pics. They're going for a wash 'n dry now. My long-awaited multi-colored wool CPO showed up. Brought it over to my parents' house since my bro ( ghoster ) was going to be there. I'm like, hey bro, try this on. He takes it, unsnaps the snaps... one of the snaps breaks. Son of a bumble! Emailed them, maybe they can send me a replacement snap? I dunno. That's a shame. Not sure about replacing one of those - never done that. Looks like great material, etc. though. Guess that's why someone would rather buy from other makers here...

I looked for a similar cut of shirt in this material from someone else, but had no luck. Rolled the dice, came up snake eyes.

I dunno. when I read this I actually laughed. Not trying to make fun of your misfortune, but damn, this sh*t seems to be so commonplace now I can't help but giggle. buying clothing shouldn't be a crapshoot each and everytime someone places an order with G. I'm reminded of that scene from Naked Gun when OJ Simpson tries sneaking up on the bad guys on the boat and comedy ensues.

OH Snap, Vintage 18s....way under spec. Strike three on my last three G denims. I hate being the product lab rat. I Haven't emailed them yet, but I'll trick myself into losing an inch for the sake of the fabric. Fabric is very VERY rad! Something has to change at the sew shop, or at least give us a transparent answer as to why QC problems continue to plague a loyal customer base. We are willing to look elsewhere to spend $$$, Gustin.
If the nature of the fabric challenges the ability to obtain an accurate size, develop a different cutting stencil to account for special/heavier fabrics!!!!! Get off your ass and start addressing the apparent QA/QC issues!!!

My Black x Coal showed up last night. Pretty sweet dough. Dense, crispy, stiff, and pitch black. I'm glad I sized up, but I think they'll have some stretch to them after some abuse.

Mine never did, but if yours aren't reeking of sulphur, you're off to a good start. Great denim but mine don't wanna budge.

Wore them for a couple hours and they seemed to relax a little, but maybe it was in my head. The sulfur isn't terrible, actually.

Black x Coal? I wouldn't say I've worn them enough to fade them, but I did end up washing them a couple times to (unsuccessfully) get the sulphur smell out. They're finally wearable without smelling like I was just at the hot springs, and the couple washes they got don't seem to have made them any less black. I think they're in the background of a pic of the indigo herringbone (wore these today, need to wear them more) somewhere on this site -- black as night which is handy for bringing out indigo in photos.

Gustin Shirt Day! Khaki Stripe, Indigo Jacquard, and Periwinkle Chambray showed up today. The only complaint I have is that the periwinkle chambray would have been amazing as a workshirt, so it's too bad it was left out of the party. One thing I was surprised by, the khaki stripe actually has brown corozo buttons, as opposed to the navy on every other workshirt I've received. These would have been great on the Italy Brown x Black workshirt (when all those buttons fall off I may beg Gustin for some brown ones). If they've also added black, I'd probably go in for a black workshirt at some point, assuming they continue making them. The angled pockets really aren't distracting, and give the shirt a little bit of texture and these patterns are subtle enough to where it really isn't offensive in my opinion -- though I would still prefer vertical aligned pockets. All in all, though, this is in-line with the quality I expect from the Gustin workshirts, they all appear to fit correctly. The picture above is a little dark, but it's dark, and I don't wanna light my house up like a stadium tonight. The periwinkle is really more of a steel blue, but I like that. The winner out of this bunch is the Indigo Jacquard, followed closely by the chambray (positions might be reversed if Peri was a workshirt), but they're all winners in my book. Would buy again. Edit: any wonk in the picture is due to the way I laid them out -- the pocket on the periwinkle is not terrible like it looks in the picture.

I've worn my blackxcoals at least 35-40 times and washed them a dozen or more since I seem to wear them a lot when I have to get dirty. No fades to speak of and still smell of sulphur, but I do like them a lot. Tough as nails and they are little roomier (in a good way) than some of my other pairs.

So finally picked up the two pairs I was waiting for! Black x Coals: Seem great. Slightly off spec (half an inch) but not the end of the world. I'm not getting a Sulphur-y smell, so not sure if I'm relieved or a bit disappointed . They seem very stiff, so may be a bit uncomfortable at first. Vintage 18's First thing I did is compare these to my Oni's. They are identical; absolutely the same denim. Whether Oni is overselling at 20oz or Gustin underselling at 18oz I do not know, but they are one and the same. The thick leather patch is fantastic. Unfortunately they are under spec by just under two inches; so simply won't work for me, especially after a soak. So back to Gustin they go I guess! Seems crazy to say this but 1 out of 2 isn't too bad. Here's hoping the Japan 21's are better. Last chance saloon!

Just received the G Horween Nato Watch Strap. It's soft, supple, but substantial enough that I have no worries about it falling apart on me. The color is also pretty versatile, so I don't think I'll be needing another shade of brown. I think it looks great, and I'll probably buy another one in a different color than brown.

I did a bit of walking and had them on for about 10 hours. The softened up pretty well after about 5 hours of wear.

Got the sweatshirt 3pack today. Went with XXL, based on a comfortable, but snug fit of their XL tshirts and Ren's recommendation. Before a wash, they are preeeeetty baggy. Super soft and comfortable and the colors are nice (black is BLACK), but pretty long (cover almost the entire top block of the jeans I'm wearing and i'm 6'4"). The cuffs are a little wide, too. I'm hoping a quick hot wash and dry tightens them up a lot, but they're mainly going to be loungewear anyway, so fit isn't super important to me. I'd def go with XL if I ever got these again, though.

I agree with the review above. I almost went with a large because I do large slim in the shirts. Fits bigger than I expected but I prefer the fit. I'll buy more.

Is there a slim fit offered on these?

Sadly, no, on the slim option. But after hot wash and dry of the Black and navy (was wearing the grey), there was decent shrinkage circumferentially, as well as a small amount in length and arms. Cuffs are still big. I didn't measure before, so this is all subjective. They're pretty freaking comfortable.

My hemps came with the wrong selvedge ID. I contacted.....going to wait and see what response I get. Love the fabric, but I'll manage to call these my skinny jeans :/. Same story here, tagged #124 with a narrow white ticker instead of bold and yellow. I wonder what denim they actually are? Feel in the 14oz ballpark, but not sold on them being hemp with a different ID...
