I'm happy with the way my super heavies have faded. I didn't really notice that they've progressed so much.

A little pissed about this. One wash Gustin, one wash. I've got a half dozen shirt orders in queue, I'll be furious if this is commonplace. Yes, I've emailed them

That's not the norm. I have 4 in slim large that I wash and haven't seen any issues.

I have had a couple of shirts do bad things after a wash. I emailed support and they wanted me to specify if I did anything unusual to it (like wash too warm or use some weird soap) and after I told them I didn't, they refunded me the total amount minus shipping. It sucks bc if you really want the shirt then you have to wait for it to come back, but in my case (could be bc I`m international) I get to keep the shirt, even if I cant wear it to work I can wear it at home or as an undershirt.
If you get refund and get too keep it then you could glue the area with textile-glue very carefully wet it with small amount of glue - wait - then try and fold in the fringes and then press. Textile glue holds wash after wash but if you make a mess on other areas it can leave dark stains.

Been wanting to post these up - my Japan Standards, probably my go-to denim and favorite pair in terms of fit and feel. Fade pics here.Picked these up in late 2014 (December delivery I believe) 6 soaks to date A lot of weekend living in these, and some work-week wear I love how these have aged. Really looking forward to the same results on my Antiques. I have a similar fade set on my American Sixteeners as well, but didn't think to take pics.

I've been trying to beat my American Standards into submission but Cone Mills are tough fading sumb*tches. They're probably due for their first wash but I'm gonna beat em up some more.

Just discovered that, due to the unique spacing of Gustin's jean belt loops, I can hang them on plastic hangers like this rather than the more bulky trouser hangers with clips. I can't do this with most other brands.

So I continue to see if I can fade out my Italian Midnight Shadows. Not a lot of wear these days due to the cold, but they do get tossed in the machine.

Hot-soaked my Japan 21s to shrink them down a bit and I couldn't help trying this.

I did a "very warm" wash yesterday on "hand wash" with a pair of dark blue sweat pants to even out the spin cycle. Inside out, and dried in the sun until about 90% then put into the dryer - still inside out. They shrunk about 1" in the waist and many 1.5 in the inseam. Wearing them now - best thing I could have done! The fit now is spot on, and the are indeed as soft as my Gustin 18's. You can feel them stretching and I don't have to cuff now, which is good as I decided I didn't want to have the dreaded cuff-line tears after a while, and I can wear with my western boots as well. Might end up being my faves now - at least in cooler weather. Super.
PS - used this odd stuff my wife has made for darks/blacks. She had it hidden and I think I'm sold...have to go look for the name of it again later.

I'm going to put a dozen wears in the 21's before I hot soak/wash them. Then I'll put another dozen wears in them then send them off to be hemmed. I could use a 1/2" of shrink in the waist.

You'll get that much if you do it. And honestly, I like the denim much more now. So much, that if they come back and I have money, I'll get a pair and put them away. I just wish that the Jutes were as long as these are. My Beast sadness is now gone. DigDug
