I received the Classic Belt - Saddle Tan today. It seems like a very nice belt for the price. I especially like the tan color and 1.5" width. Now, I just have to fit it in to the rotation. I'll keep you posted.

Just received my natural heavyweight belt today. Would you make a deal out of these scuff marks on a brand new belt? Or will they eventually just disappear with wear? I also feel like the keeper is far too large and really sticks out, but that may just be the overall design and not specific to my particular belt.

I can't tell if it's the inside or the outside from your pics, but I would definitely notify Gustin since I consider that disappointing. I have both the brown and the natural, I've never been bothered by the size of the keeper.

It looks even worse in person, but that's the best I could get with a potato pic. As for the size of the keeper... it's not that big of a deal as I'm sure it would be less noticeable once the leather breaks in, but definitely seems a great deal larger than comparable belts I've had/have. Not enough to make me not want the belt though.

Return it. It's on the outside, and is an eyesore. Cool, looks like I'm going to. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't being a prude if I did.

If it were on the inside I wouldn't worry about it, on the outside it looks terrible, and it's on the most visible part of the belt, or if nothing else, it's on the only part you'll see when you look at it in the mirror.

You guys gave solid advice here. You can always cut the keeper off, most pants have you covered with belt loops anywho.

I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight. bentin exophobe and devastitis all agreed on something; I'm pretty sure that's a sign foretold in Revelations.

They're bound to drop the boots soon. That should be good for a maelstorm.

Thanks for the replies, dudes. I was trying to justify it to myself after waiting for the belt for 6+ weeks... but hey, a damaged $70 belt is still a damaged $70 belt. And Gustin QC fails again.
Hopefully Gustin has an extra size 36, natural 14oz belt laying around...
Edit: maybe actually closer to 8 weeks, to be technical.

In case anyone was curious about what I said about the keeper being massive, here's a pic: And yup I could always just cut the keeper off if I end up getting the same belt in exchange with the same huge keeper. But, I was just saying. When I tried the belt on, I could see it protruding through my shirt, haha.

That's how it SHOULD work. That's how nearly all Chicago screw belts work.

Eyyy now THAT'S an idea! Of course you could unscrew to remove the keeper... if one planned on keeping the keeper.
But the point is moot. Gustin got back to me, gave me store credit and access to the stock store... but also offered a refund. No heavyweight belts in stock, and not sure I'll bother with a Gustin belt regardless.
Perhaps I'll just milk the constant access to the the stock store for a bit and find something else to use the credit toward...
Thanks for your input, fellas.

I prefer the brown heavyweight to the natural, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it if it shows up -- but wouldn't recommend any Gustin belt other than the heavyweights. Get the refund and catch up with @stevekas on one of his belts.

Gustin Trucker, Tonal vs Contrast. The tonal is sewn up smaller but I think when I break it in the fit will be fine. Really like both though I'm thinking about selling the contrast, don't think I need two of the same denim.

The tonal is better looking and a way better fit. I wouldn't want it much looser. Looks sharp.

Thanks for sharing, I love how much cleaner the tonal looks even though they share the exact same design. The contrast will look great in a different way with wear, but it would be a hard sell to keep both. Sell the contrast to devastitis (if it's the right size).

Should of mentioned they are both sized Large. Gustin shirts fit a little tight in the chest on me in Large but the jackets fit much better.

If it doesn't fit like you want it to, you won't wear it or just won't like wearing it. Having said that, I like the contrast. I totally didn't expect that, but really like how it looks. Something about the traditional denim jacket just feels right.
