^ Thanks.
Looking at the charts again on the SF CCoat I may be best served by asking for an extra 1/2" to 1" on the sleeves vs sizing down the 2XL as I'm good on the XL with everything but the sleeves.
Actually I'm dead on the XL at 36.5" but I know it's gonna shrink a bit then I'm hosed.

Got a pair of 12 oz duck chinos, 34 in the 901 slim fit. The fit is great, except for the waist, which is about 1 inch too big. Fortunately, I haven't washed them yet, and the spec sheet on ciano's website says the waist will shrink about an inch after washing, so I should be good. Anyone know what kind of wash that is? Cold soak, warm soak, hot soak, washing machine? Has anyone had experience with this?

I've washed mine in cold water, hang dry and got only a minimal amount of shrink which stretched back to normal after a few minutes of wear. If I needed significant shrink I'd do warm water and low dryer heat and see where that gets you.

I've 2 pair of 12oz, in which I washed in warm, and dried medium heat, and lost an inch in both waist, and inseam, but what accounted for when I ordered. I have a pair of 18 oz, which came at my desired inseam length, so I washed cold, and hung dry, and lost about 1/2", in both waist, and inseam. More heat, more shrink.

Its a toss up between the 18oz or the 15oz Selevedge. How's the 18oz wear? Like rugged work wear or casual Friday?

i have 3 pair now of 12 oz duck canvas, but the more i wear them the more i realize they're not as comfortable as i'd like. the fit is great everywhere except right at\under the hipbone. i realized yesterday that's the spot where extra fabric of the taped seams, heavy pocket bags, and pull loops all end up being sewn in, reducing the interior dimension ~1/2" causing them to be pretty snug in that spot. i keep hoping that they'll stretch to a nice spot after more wear...just hasn't happened yet.

I've found the 12oz seem to stretch a small amount in the waist after several wears, and tighten back up after a wash, like denim does. With the 18oz though, this effect is much less.

With the 18oz though, this effect is much less. i've had the slight shrink and re-stretch to pre-wash size...but that one space is always a bit too snug. unfortunately sizing up would result in a huge gap at the waistband.

@david my 18's haven't been washed and only worn 6 times or so and they don't hurt or feel strange. I hope Ciano kept my measurements on file from my 18oz since they fit insanely well.

I ordered the 18oz. Khaki Duck in the 5 pocket cut a little while ago and have been reading through this thread since I found it. I ordered the slim but now I'm wondering if I should have give with the straight.
I am 175 lbs and 5'8". I just got a pair of Naked & Famous Weird Guys and love the fit. I usually buy my pants in "slim" fits but don't mind a strait leg as long as it's not baggy. I also NEVER wear skinny jeans! Any suggestions on which way to go?

Not sure it is still the case but my weird guy is slimmer than Ciano's slim fit. Ciano has a size guide on its website. Maybe you can take your best fitting Chino and do a comparison.

I did a bit but measuring pants is pretty new to me. Your description makes me feel good about going with the slim fit. Thanks!

This is contrary to my experience. 12oz canvas in a 32 slim fit is slimmer through the thighs and calves than my gustin 33 and 34 slims, and 33 weird guy, with a lower rise than all of them, and they came in to spec.

OK, still on the fence, thanks forthe the replies. Do you guys find their 905 fit to still look good and not be baggy? I've never worn Levi 501's before so I can't relate to that fit.
I'm a Product Design Engineer and work in the Design Centered where everyone wears khakis and a dress shirt. I tend to wear nice boots (Beckman's) and slim chinos or dark jeans. I would like to wear these pants perhaps on "casual" Fridays when other guys wear their Mom Pants jeans.

I have Ciano's 905 fit, and don't find it baggy in the least. I think if you like a classic straight fit, you would be OK with the 905. For me, the 901 rise is just too short, as the 905 rise is about as low as I would want to go.
