Ciano's doing some great work and has lots of good ideas for new stuff. I only hope he can expand his staff a little to cope with demand and bring down wait times.

My only hesitation with CF is the time factor. I am not the most patient person. Also, if he hires more people expect prices to increase to pay for them. It's a very fine balance.

Do you need the chinos asap? If not set it and forget it. Order and before you know it they will be there. Unless you need pants and would be walking around pantsless without a new pair of duck chinos I'm sure you can afford the wait.

I don't need them in a hurry. I have a few orders with CF right now. Good advice!

I'm at 10 weeks waiting and haven't heard from CF. I imagine it will take another 4 - 5 weeks.

It's stating the bleedin' obvious, but there's only three options to stop an ever-increasing wait list: - take on more staff - stop selling for a while - increase prices
The good news is that LD did none of the above and we all saw from first hand experience how that ends up.
Ciano's a clued-up guy and reaped the benefit from the LD collapse, so I imagine he must have a plan.
I'd imagine orders will tail off when the wait is 15 weeks and climbing, though.

Probably a black pair too. Just grabbed your last comment to answer your question ickes. At the time I ordered copper thread was standard but I have no idea now. I do like it though, it really makes them work. I could be wrong but I believe you get to select your thread color and other options. Do a click through over the order process and you will find it is very cool. One of the things I thought that Ciano have a great system for. Very detailed and not confusing at all. www.cianofarmer.com/shop.html

My "standard" comment comes from the order form itself, the copper thread has the word "standard" next to it. I believe this is from the denim side of the house, where copper thread is standard. ickes, I misspoke as a result of this. You can actually pick whatever thread you want, actually with the new order form, you HAVE to pick your thread, there isn't a default, even though copper is "standard" (probably just there as a reference for folks ordering jeans and not sure about picking thread).

What is the average wait time these days? Last order placed on April 22, and got a shipping notice today, for moss green chinos. A bit over 4 months, but I had mentioned to Ciano that I was not in a hurry, so don't know if that made any difference. The way I look at it, is Ciano consistently makes quality products, and I'm sure that I'm going to get them made to my specs, and for what he is pricing his stuff at, it's worth the wait for me. Its refreshing to see these guys take so much pride in their craft.

What do you think of a pair of low back overalls made by CF out of the 18oz duck? I'd like to make a pair waxed overalls for working in the snow. Kind of like the Filson Tin cloth overalls. I like how my Waxed Pointer Brand chore jacket works and would gladly make a pair of overalls if they offered them but oddly they don't in Duck, only denim. Wonder if I could convince CF to make a pair? What say you cianofarmer ?

Great! Not sure of exactly what I'd want/need. I'm not really an overall guy. But I want a pair that I can Wax (Otter Wax) and use for snow removal. I'm thinking the 18oz duck would work great. They shouldn't be double knee (it would be to much with being waxed). Now that I'm looking at others style, it looks like the high back would be best. I plan on wearing a wool sweater, so the high back would keep it tucked in better. I like the idea of a zip pouch up front (last thing I need is looking for my keys in a snow storm). Maybe some sort of leather (or none water absorbent material) cuff at the bottom. You guys have any other ideas?

I really like the details on these just don't have a use. Nice, and $400! The double knee won't work for me. Inevitably they will get wet. I dont need 17oz x 2 = 34 oz of wet canvas to walk around in.

clearly not canvas, but the other vests are. i thought people might enjoy the top shelf work from Ciano, albeit not quite complete.

So what's the consensus on how much 12oz duck canvas will shrink with a wash? And once washed, how much does this stretch back out in the waist? Trying to dial in my fit with Ciano. Does this stuff behave like sanforized denim? Thanks much!

Does this stuff behave like sanforized denim? Thanks much! I can't comment on the 12oz but I have a pair of 18oz ducks. I did a soak and air dry and they didn't shrink at all. They were a little loose so I did a warm wash and dry in the dryer and they snugged up quite a bit. Fit perfectly now. They haven't really stretched out either with some wear. I think I wrote down the actual specs before and after. I will try to find them.
