So I've managed to stay away from the Ciano threads for the most part but he looks like a damn good option for duck canvas chinos. I apologize if all of this has been discussed in the thread already but I really don't have the time to read through all 26 pages....so a few questions; 1. Does anyone know if either of the green canvas fabrics that Ciano has available the same color as the Gusin Army Green Chinos? 2. What colors have you guys been getting? He has a lot of cool colors and I'm curious what everyone has received so far and how they like the colors they have. 3. What fit have you guys been going with? I definitely think I will be getting the straight fit, it looks like a good cut to me. Thanks fellas. 1. After looking at the 2nd, and 3rd. picture on Gustin's site, it appears to me to look VERY similar in color, and could assume it is from the same mill as both are 12oz. 2. I have the orche, which is a lovely brown, and a pair of Army Green (moss) that hopefully will be showing up soon, as I'm at 17 weeks now from ordering. 3. I find the Ciano 905 fit to be a great fit, as they fit great in the top block, with a little room in the thighs, and knee, without any bagginess, where as the Gustin straight fit is too snug in the thigh, and knee for me. Thanks davelewis. That's exactly what I was thinking too regarding the fit of the 905 when I was looking at the fit guide.

ickes I did the 901 slim fit 34 brown 18oz chinos. I recommend them 200%. Corozo buttons on the rear pockets and metal on the fly. I would like Ciano to do one like the IH 816 rear right pocket open and a snap on the left. Damn you sent slim? You like the slim fit?

ickes - based on what you've described in other fits I think the straight fit is the way to go. In the slim fit the equivalent Gustin waist size comes in a bit tighter through the legs. I also found the back rise to be a bit lower than the Gustin slim.

I did the slims but they're still on the way so I can't comment on fit. Should have been here today but the usps tracking is being wonky this time....

davelewis, I ordered in March. Been a while. Talked to Ciano twice on the phone during that time. The issue with my delay (other than Ciano and Dave being swamped) was the addition of the back cinch on my chinos. There was a bit of a wait for more duck in my color and the back cinches weren't done yet. ickes, I went 18oz khaki in slim. I really want them to fit. I went over the fit chart a hundred times, they should be good. I do think I like my pants more tapered that you and Mr. Lewis though, so I wouldn't advise slims for you just based on the other brand fits you like. Just looked at the waist coats again....my order finger is twitching....

Seems like a few shipping notices went out. I got my notice last Sunday but I've been on vacation. My 18oz khaki 905s are waiting at home for me. Actually gives me a reason not to be sad that vacation is over.

Duuuuuuudes!!! These things are sick!! I was terrified I ordered too small, but they fit perfect. I wear a 35 straight in Gustin and went for 34 in the 905. They fit perfectly.
What do I do with these things? Soak? Wash? Treat like normal clothes?

Be advised that they will pick up indigo from shirts quite easily, and if you wash and dry in hot, you will loose an inch in the waist, and inseam. If they fit perfect out of the box, I recommend washing in cold, and hang dry. They will soften, and improve with wearing, and washing. I agree that these are awesome. Enjoy!

univibe88, I have the 18oz Car Coat. I probably wouldn't wash or soak your new jeans, but just wear the hell out of them. The material is so stiff that it needs to be worn a lot to try to beat it into submission. I wonder how the 30oz bull denim guys are getting on with theirs. That must be even tougher to break in.

wdw - the 30oz are in a different league. They are my motorcycle pants and honestly they aren't torture but I mean they won't get broken in for about 2 years. I also won't wash them for a long time. They need to pickup a lot of harley exhaust fume smell! They also aren't horrible to walk around in. univibe88 - I also want a car coat in 18oz duck. But do I need it....NOPE!

Hey guys, just received my 18oz duck chinos. They are BOMBER strong. Seriously, these are built like nothing I've seen right down to the seam reinforcements. The pocket bag canvas feels like a shot bag. Awesome. Ciano was great to deal with as well. These guys are doing it right. I went for the slim fit and it works well for me, ickes and other thunder quad crew members, go straight fit. The pants came in to spec. I'm amazed Ciano and Mike are making something this nice at this price point. I can't say much more that others haven't so, here are a few potato cam pics. More gear from these guys will find it's way into my life for sure.

I love the contrast copper stitching on those...is that something you chose or do they come standard like that? Also, personally I don't dig the cinch back on the waistband. Is that an option as well? Very cool though. I think I'll be getting a pair.

The cinch is an add-on, you can skip it in the order form.

Ickes, that's the beauty, you pick the colors, buttons, etc, and Ciano will do a coin, or knife pocket, double knee, whatever.

Probably a black pair too. Just grabbed your last comment to answer your question ickes. At the time I ordered copper thread was standard but I have no idea now. I do like it though, it really makes them work.

re: stevekas chinos. those are fantastic! i got the very first pair with the cinchback and i love them, but yours - they've taken their chino game up numerous levels already. the fabric patch, those new laurel leaf buttons... gorgeous. and you've all combined creativity with very solid execution. very, very, nice.
