I dropped him a polite note asking for an update. He responded back right away and let me know that when I placed my order they were out of stock on the duck fabric, so the time it took him to restock fabric caused a delay. He also assured me my pants would done in the next few weeks.
I've got zero reason for any concern with CF!

Here is a couple pics of some new buttons Ciano put on my 18oz duck jeans. I had one come off and they replaced all of them. They really shine and made in the USA! I have been really getting into the hand made details of these jeans. Will be wearing them in heavy rotation once the summer heat dies down. I am in no rush for it. We get plenty of heavy denim weather so I will enjoy the shorts and t-shirt weather while I can.

If those are the Ochre color, I can't wait for my chinos to look like those shorts.. Love how they turned out..
How did the color change that much work just 2 months of wear?

They are It could be closer to three months, but either way they've been worn and washed hard. In the bottom right picture I was 10 foot off the ground building a roof.

I'll chime in and say I have a pair of orche chinos, and they really do fade out with washing, and wearing. They will really evolve into a softer color, and will get "buttery" in due time. I personally wash them in cold, and hang dry this time of year, but a dryer is not detrimental to duck, IMO.

gusjin thank you.. How do you wash these? It varies depending on where I'm staying (I'm traveling), from 15 minute Eco washes to 2 hours at 60 degrees. They strunk about an inch in length and waist on first wash and stayed the same since (they're still a little big so I don't know if they stretch or not) The only thing I haven't done is tumble them, but I will when I get the chance

I like the way raw duck starts out, and the duck Ciano uses is similar to a raw Carhartt. I've had Carhartts that are super worn in, which get lighter in color as they age, and soft like a heavy chino. I like Ciano's cut more than other duck pants, so he is my go to guy for these.

(the ochre stuff anyway)

I would assume duck is pretty standard minus color and weight. Not like you have slub, nep, warp/weft.
Oh and does anyone have corozo buttons on the 18oz chinos? I haven't really worn mine yet but a little worried they are gonna pop off with pressure.

I wondered at first how durable they would be, but so far, so good. It does take a good amount of wear, to loosen up the button holes, as its a hefty material. These will take a few years of hard wear before they hit their peak.

So I've managed to stay away from the Ciano threads for the most part but he looks like a damn good option for duck canvas chinos. I apologize if all of this has been discussed in the thread already but I really don't have the time to read through all 26 pages....so a few questions;
1. Does anyone know if either of the green canvas fabrics that Ciano has available the same color as the Gusin Army Green Chinos?
2. What colors have you guys been getting? He has a lot of cool colors and I'm curious what everyone has received so far and how they like the colors they have.
3. What fit have you guys been going with? I definitely think I will be getting the straight fit, it looks like a good cut to me.
Thanks fellas.

After looking at the 2nd, and 3rd. picture on Gustin's site, it appears to me to look VERY similar in color, and could assume it is from the same mill as both are 12oz. 2. I have the orche, which is a lovely brown, and a pair of Army Green (moss) that hopefully will be showing up soon, as I'm at 17 weeks now from ordering. 3. I find the Ciano 905 fit to be a great fit, as they fit great in the top block, with a little room in the thighs, and knee, without any bagginess, where as the Gustin straight fit is too snug in the thigh, and knee for me.

ickes I did the 901 slim fit 34 brown 18oz chinos. I recommend them 200%. Corozo buttons on the rear pockets and metal on the fly. I would like Ciano to do one like the IH 816 rear right pocket open and a snap on the left.
