A moment of silence for the passing of Wils/middleage and with him the various entertaining and violent garment endurance tests he would conduct for science.
Soak it in phosphoric acid and dry it over a magnesium fire while poking at it with a sharp stick, you know, so it will shrink.
I seriously miss that guy. He was funny and cantankerous.

Here are some fit pics of the Ciano 18oz Black Duck. Gustin natural belt and Eddie Bauer slim fit T-shirt. Just received 5 of them. $10 on sale. Oh yes Dr. Martins 1461 UK also. I did have Ciano make the leather patch so I can pass a belt under it but am running on top until I send back to have a button and patch loose thread repaired. Found a good job for the 8 year old son, taking fit pics.

seth and anyone else...the forum seems to retain the name that was used initially and does not persist when the display name is changed. (e.g. admin/winterland, dirtydenim/sal, wils/iforgetwhathechangeditto) if you ever wonder what name to use when tagging a member, just hover over their name in a post by them and you'll get a handy little mouse over display of their system name. got it. thanks. i use @ admin (with no space) and it resolves to Winterland and the mouse over will indicate how a tag resolves to a name.

Maybe a coworker found him taking photos in the men's room and he got fired. Maybe he's over on a handbag forum. Who knows. The legend of Wils will live on for ever.

I spoke to Ciano over the weekend. He said they had a bunch of duck pants of various sorts almost done but were waiting on some additional fabric to finish a few details. Mine in particular are 18oz, not sure if he was referring to other weights as well.
Anyway, I'd expect some shipping notices in the next couple weeks. Cool!

My first order of 12oz. Military Olive chinos arrived right before leaving the States, two thumbs up on customer service and the pictures I saw here don't do them justice and I'll be placing another order for sure.

I received my 12 oz duck canvas chinos in Timber today. They are fantastic. The fabric feels substantial without being overbearing - if that makes any sense. The Timber is more of a medium brown and I'm really happy that I chose that color. I had Ciano do bar tacks instead of rivets on the pockets and I like the way they look that way. I spend a lot of time in manufacturing plants but still need to be wearing business casual, and these are going to be perfect for that. I like this fabric a lot and am now thinking of buying a pair of 5 pocket to use as work pants.

I've been waiting since March. I hope this isn't going to be another LD for me. :-) Ciano is making items by hand in small batches. It takes time for quality, I'd say. He is nothing like LD.

I've been waiting since March. I hope this isn't going to be another LD for me. :-) To be fair to Ciano, slippage is inevitable as he's a two-man band and the orders appear to be building up due to his reputation being deservedly on the up.
The big differences with LD are that he's always priced to make a fair profit so no need to Ponzi, he takes pride in his work as evidenced by his detailed photos of completed work, he responds to emails and calls and he will deliver.
I guess we all need to look at around 3-4 months for Ciano gear now, unless he steps up capacity and we all know where that story can lead. But at least we know that there's factories in Phoenix, Tucson and probably soon LA with plenty of capacity should he feel the need to start talking big and getting involved in photoshoots with big bikes and scantily clad beauties.

Yeah I was going to say the same thing. If you haven't talked or emailed with him, be sure to reach out. He actually answers the phone/responds to email.

I'm sure it is no big deal and I trust that he will come through, but just wanted to point out a simple truth that the estimated timeline was not met. I'm not ready to start calling yet since I'm in no particular rush.
