@mowgli yep. it's a great color...has a lot more orange than any other chinos i have...which goes really well with the browns and blues that seem to fill my closet.

@mowgli yep. it's a great color...has a lot more orange than any other chinos i have...which goes really well with the browns and blues that seem to fill my closet. I love the shade, but I can't wear with blue cause this is Broncos country. I haven't paired them yet, but I bet they look amazing with the brown x black workshirt, and I'd feel like I'm wearing armor. |

davelewis - thank you - that's what I wanted to hear. I think I'll get the brown canvas - maybe go with a cool thread color like royal blue. Any suggestions? I like the dark brown, with khaki thread, but that's the beauty, in that you can get what strikes your fancy. Ciano will send you a sample swatch, with different threads to help you decide, if you ask. I have a pair of 18oz khaki chinos, with green stitching, and am getting blue fades on the pocket edges, and front, where the hem of my indigo shirts make contact. I love the khaki color of these, but they WILL pick up some blue if you wear raw shirts with them. Definitely not a dressy pair of chinos, but great work vibe. |

Man the 18oz duck will take some breaking in! Man they aren't the worse but comparing them to broken in IH 17oz they are stiff and dense.

Just ordered a pair of the 18oz Khaki duck, really like the color on the swatches. Went with the chino cut this time, I'll probably be hemming and hawing over the wabash until they're out of it. I imagine this'll be shortly after wdw posts pics of his waistcoat. |

exophobe, no waistcoat, but I do have two canvas jackets on order from Ciano. They're at 10 weeks or so now, so I guess all his extra orders are taking a toll on the turnaround time. Hopefully not much longer.

for those who know: how is the fit compare to G's slim fit? size up? down?

I think you might be confusing a couple of the fabrics, there's a navy 12oz duck and a 14oz IXI denim in there right now -- but if I'm wrong then show me and I'll love ya forever. The 901 fit in a 32 comes in a bit slimmer than the Gustin slim, so I'm going with the 33 on the next pair, and I think that'll work out just about perfect. On the fit guide they mention the fit is a lot like the Levi's 511 cut, so if you have a pair of those, I think you'll find that's a much better representation than the Gustin slim. *** EDIT I think I just realized you're referring to this one. I think this guy's got a white weft -- though it reminds me more of chambray than canvas.  |

I would inquire with Ciano if neither of their listed fits work for you. They are willing to make adjustments and also have a few other fits to work from. |

If you like the swatch color, then I think you will really like them, as to my eye, they sew up better looking than the swatch represents. I have a vest with welted pockets in 12oz orche, and am waiting to see what he makes up with the wabash. I know in the wabash, he is going to make it more in the flavor of the IH version, with patch pockets. It should look good! |

Just got my shipping notice from Ciano this afternoon! I should have my 2 pairs of 12oz duck canvas chinos in hand Monday and will post pics then.
For those of you who have been waiting a while try not to give Ciano a hard time. It sounds like he is pretty swamped. There was actually a small issue with one of my pairs but he took care of it - his customer service is EXCELLENT!
