So close. I'd eventually like to get a 1970 Speedy Pro for a birth year watch. Wear the 2014 Speedy Pro pretty much every day and the Apollo XI 40th Anniversary one occasionally.

Aw damn that is close. 1973 wasn't a great year for me or anything just right place right time. It was however the absolute end of the muscle car era.

That rubber is just too cheesy and has to go. I was thinking of either picking up a bracelet for it, or going with a mesh NATO. Undecided.

I $1 band tool change them out quick!

Or go bananas and get the Rolls Royce of strap tools, a $24 Bergeon.
Of course lots of the NATO strap retailers throw in a free spring bar tool. I just threw four or five of them away.
Semi related aside, if you plan on using a leather NATO, like the Gustin or a DeLuca, you'll want a nicer pair of spring bars than what come with most cheap straps.

Ok so i love Pulsar, its just something about the streamlines of many models that i like. So i was in crete last year and they had 50% off on one i liked, but i had to think and never got around to going back there. So now Im here again and lo and behold they still had the watch. I got it, and was so very happy, but at home when trying it the alarm hands were stuck (broken) so i had to go back today. They could not repair it....... so all I could do was to change to another watch gahh they only had like calvin cline or some other crap. So i got a Tx watch wich is actually much to busy for me really but the overall colors of rosegold and brown face and brown gator strap will go great with brown leather jacket and work attire at the office. I got a good deal for buying in a shop (about the price for a second hand one on ebay). Retail when they were sold some years ago was about 600euro. Yes they are discontinued. So yes its a quartz, but its got sapphire lens with a serious anti-glare coating, 4 independant motors, some hours to record time, second timezone and a compass. Itll do until i can get a classic, and in the meantime i have many needles to fiddle with and figure out wich way my computer is facing at work

I've picked a few watches over the past year... A couple of Seikos and an Orient. Do you guys store yours in a watch box? If so, any recommendations on a nice box? Was thinking maybe something that could hold eight (give some space to grow my collection).

Then I put it in my safe.

After poking around on various forums for a bit, I ended up ordering this watch box: www.etsy.com/listing/248228277/walnut-watch-box-holds-6-watchesshould work well for my needs.

Any recommendations on where to start looking for antique pocket watches? I've been checking eBay to get a price and selection reference point but there's a world of knowledge and details out there. I like a cleaner face, though some complications are nice if placement is thought out. Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm on there and it has plenty of knowledge, pics and tons of douches too lol. Haven't looked at their antique forums but worth a shot if you haven't. I see a couple of people who posted about their ebay finds and a couple turned out too be a frankenwatch, so be careful

Some frankenwatches are vintage. Not everyone could afford to repair the watch right and used other parts. Sometimes it's not the biggest of deal.
Personally I like Waltham.

I checked out watchuseek and immediately noticed a mixture of information and pretense there. I'll definitely use it as a resource taken with a grain of salt. Looks like I'm headed down another wormhole of research and subsequent purchases ...
