My Sinn is overdue for service. Right now it's more like Cheney's heartbeat, ETA2893 is losing about five minutes a day. Been wanting a U2 for a while. Had a chance for a U1 white face but didn't wuite fall in love. My Fortis' also need servicing. Time is ok but they're iverdue for seals etc. Yeah, the white faced U1 was worth passing on. I like the U2, but they're so thick I don't think I'd ever wear it. Fortis uses SUG cases like Sinn, I've always assumed that they're related companies, but I guess it's more of just a soft relationship. I used to work near the Sinn store in Frankfurt, Lothar Schmidt was an amusing character.

$600 for a quartz is really borderline for me too. I sorta set $500 as my max on those, and there are a lot of watches that are worth that price range, but when you start looking at the likes of B&R, I roflcopter on that... I paid many multiples of this for my wife's Cartier Tank Française with absolutely no regrets a decade later. Then again, with the Tank, I think it's more about the timeless design and construction of the case and band itself than it is about the movement.

Kinda funny, but my mom, my sister and my wife all wear mechanical watches. My dad who got me hooked on watches currently wears a solar powered Citizen. Goober.

OK, so there are exceptions, but in general women like quartz. That's my experience.

Gave my Gf a vintage mechanical. She never wears it and never winds it.
I wear a G-shock mudman for work solar powered and can take a beating

Like I said, quartz are good watches - keep time like a mofo. But as someone else said (for me) they have no soul. I've got both, but quartz is purely for accurate, set it and forget it time/date/info.

Her Tank still looks almost new, only needs to be adjusted 2x per year during DST transitions, has only needed one battery, and she has never brought it to me because it isn't working right or keeping proper time.
That's a win for me in my book, and I'd make the same purchase again in a heartbeat.

It hasn't been quite as trouble free, but that's another story for another time. Another challenge with women's watches is that there are very few mechanical watches available in smaller case sizes.

Knives and watches go together. I think I'm going to trim the watch collection this year. Feeling minimal this year.

Kinda wanna sell it haven't worn it since easter. Really feel like I should trim the collection. At least I have a large safe to lock all this crap up in.

TJs and CJs and even XJs, but square headlights on a Wrangler is just wrong. Funny so much anger because of square headlights. The YJ has more in common with a CJ than the TJ does. Plus those square bulbs were all the rage in the 90's like every car had them so it made sense. No air bags, OBD-1, leaf springs all around. The TJ is more modern. The XJ's or caravan jeeps not a fan of hey don't even wave.

If I could swap some features from the Visitor watch into the Melbourne watch, I think it'd look really nice.

I would like an RGM made in the USA inhouse movement timepiece. Maybe some day.

Roland Murphy is who got me really interested in watches. My dad had always had mechanical watches, but coming across RGM through his connections with Richard Sachs and my real passion, cycling, was a really cool personal link. I really, really wanted one of his recrafted Hamilton movements.
I've yet to buy an RGM, he does service a few of my watches, but I will own one eventually.

Price is what is keeping me back. It's hard to justify when they don't appear, judging from forums and secondary market, to hold value like other big name swiss watches.
When you spend on a watch it's nice to know depreciation usually doesn't hurt bad. Hell I made money on watches.

Just fyi--I sell a lot of watches through my work. Citizen, Ferragamo, Seiko, Bulova, Invicta. If anyone ever needs a watch I can get you great prices or possibly trade for gear
