I hate their repro. Try to find a real Heuer. The TAG part of the company really does nothing for me. A real, vintage Monaco is cool. The repros are goofy. Don't get me started on Milgauss repros...

I hear you and I share the sentiment, paying that much for a repro--even from the Name it self--seems like a tourist move. The company seems to be going a new direction it'll be interesting to see where they are in 10 years.

A bit random here but for those of you that didn't know, Dan Spitz, former guitarist for Anthrax, is now a watch maker. He's been doing it for awhile now and i'm sure if you Google it you'll find more info

It came down to the Helson or the Maranez, and free shipping +20% off pushed me right to the Maranez! How's your Helson? I can see myself buying another watch this year, especially a smaller one, since the general opinion is that the Talay is quite large. Hope it's not gaudy like a Diesel watch..... Lmao! How you liking your new toy?

How you liking your new toy? I had to ship it to my ex-wife's house in the State so she could forward it to me because they wouldn't use USPS shipping... EMS and FedEx don't deliver to p.o. boxes..... So, it will be waiting for me when I get back to Japan.

Here's an old shot of my Seiko SBDC007. It was my daily wear for a couple of years, until I got my SARB017.

Finally got my Maranez Delay in. Honestly, I'm not a watch guy, so I know not of quality, movements or anything else... I just got it because it's brass, and it looks good.

set up time and wear it for a week and check at the end to see how bad it is from when you take it off and put back on in that span. NH35 isn't bad at all, I have one watch with its movement that is a PAM homage so i don't have second hands so precision won't be missed there lol.

For the record, the Seiko NH35 movement in this watch is crap... I set the time on Saturday, and it's now Thursday. I've already lost over 30mins

What can be done about this??? I love the look of his watch, but it sucks that I have a $150 Nixon which I use for field work that keeps far better time than this.

Take it off at night? Watches are good if they're flat, not on their side. Try laying it flat at night and checking how much time it loses. You can test it laying on either side or upside down too, just to see which works best.
The movement will have an adjustment dial to make it faster or slower, but that will require opening the case back. Check which resting position works best first. I can keep my watch within five to ten minutes a month by keeping it flat at night.

I already take it off every night and lay it flat...
Strange, I bought this watch only with the intentions of looking cool..... Now suddenly, I like it alot less since I've noticed that it sucks at keeping time.

I just bought my first non-Seiko/Orient watch. A Christopher Ward C60 Quartz with the green bezel. Got it for relatively cheap ( <$300 for BNIB) off of WUS. It'll be here tomorrow.

Can anyone recommend me a white faced dress watch for under $500? I've been looking at Seikos, SARB035/SARB065/SARY055, but I was wondering if there's any others I should look at before buying. Preferably with 39~42mm diameters, and 20mm to 22mm lug widths.

You're sort of in no man's land for watches. Any chance of, oh, say doubling your budget?

I think the Kent Wang is the classiest looking one for the price range you've got.

I'm too poor and cheap to increase my budget. I'm also not a big watch guy, only own some very basic watches that I think look nice and more expensive than they are. An Orient pepsi Mako (<$60), Orient black Ray (<$60), Orient cream dial/blue hand Bambino (~100), Seiko Fifty Five SNZH modded (~$150), Casio EF503D-1AV Edifice ($40), and the CW ($<$300) I just bought. If anything, I wanted to keep the budget as low as possible, like below $300, but wanted to see what my options were at around $500. I had my sights on the Seiko SARY055 or the SARB065 if I can get it under $300 off of WUS. The Kent Wang looks nice, and fits a style that I wouldn't mind owning, but what makes it worth $400?
